Not sure how 70's came up with his screwy numbers - maybe his girlfriend just selected her favorite numbers based on the pretty sound of them - but I'm almost 100% certain UWW was never #1 nationally in total offense last year. This year offense UMU #7, UWW #24; Defense UMU #1 (when have we seen that before?), UWW #18.  But you forgot one important stat for this year - Total Average attendance UWW #1 (8,040/game) UMU #13 (4,043). Also, Mount was probably #1 in defense heading into the Stagg only to come out #4 (if that number is actually correct). Seriously, posting the link where you found last years numbers would be helpful. I simply don't believe your numbers are correct for last year. It would be interesting to see what the numbers were like heading into the playoffs and then after the Stagg Bowl.

What the Heck does Total Average Attendance have to do with this conversation?

How about this random fact:
UWW Undergraduate Enrollment - 11,500 10,671
UMU Undergraduate Enrollment - 2,200

Or This:

Percentage of Average Attendance to Undergraduate Enrollment:
UWW:    69.9%  75.3%
UMU:  183.77%

It was about as irrelevant a "stat" as 70's were wrong!!  ;)   :o  Plus it was the only one I could find where UWW has a clear advantage over UMU!!  ;)

When I was in school, not all the students went to games (being at a commuter school most went home to their cities and towns for the weekend)...when did that change Dad?

Yeah but you have approximately 8,000 more alumni per year to pull from for attendance to games after they leave school. ;)

I'm not real sure about Cap this year.  Not as plugged in as I have been in the past.  I do know, like everyone else, that they lose a QB who was All-OAC a couple of times, a RB who was only the second guy in school history to run for 1000 yds in a season, a couple of tall, fast, all-OAC caliber WR's, and most of the secondary from a team that underachieved last year in a big way.

On the flip side, the presumed starting QB this year got a lot of experience last year when Assmann got hurt and they have some reasonable talent returning in a few places, especially on the DL.  Also, they have a roster posted on the website that includes about 55 players (mostly Freshmen) who look like they are new to the program this season.  I don't know jack about any of them, except that one is from Lexington- how did BJ Payne let a kid get to an OAC school other than MUC?

Anyway, I figure if Cap plays to their potential, they are probably a middle of the pack team.  A few breaks could mean a 7-3 year, but that's about as far as I would go with it.
The coaching staff is a joke as is the administrations support of the program!

Wabco,

I believe it is official that both CJ Gum and Wes Chamblee are returning for a 5th year!  Although I sure would feel more confident if BashDad#84 would post it...  ;D

Bummer on the recruiting front losing Jonathon Horn's younger brother (Reece Horn) to D2 UIndy.  He and his QB from Cathedral have both signed to play there.   >:(  I really thought we had a good shot.

Congrats to the Wabash hoops team with a big win yesterday at previously undefeated Wooster!

Wabash Always Fights!
So what injury qualifies CJ Gum for a 5th year?

Who is going to volunteer to tell CJ he can't play next year?   :)That's funny! Thanks for the info. He obviously mended well!

But seriously...CJ only played a tiny bit of the first two games in 2007 and lost the rest of the season.  I think it was a knee injury, but it's been long enough ago now that I'm not 100% sure on that.

Correction: wasn't the FIRST two games, but he did only play in two games, both in September.  He did not play in Wabash's final nine games that season.

There are two teams playing Saturday night in Selby both of which could give either Hiram or OWU a game.

This is ludicrous.  HS teams would not beat D-III teams...at least D-III with decent roster numbers as these two teams have.  You're talking about boys playing football against men.

ADL must not have played football after high school and/or obviously doesn't appreciate/understand the level of player on the field even at the lower DIII programs.

DIII teams, even the bottom rung, are still filled with quality to Top players from their high school teams and would as a group/team handle most top high school teams quite easily.

He is just probably searching for post content now that his beloved CWR team is not going to the AFC Championship game.

Desertraider was not even good enough to play for Hiram since he "watched" the Varsity stink it up for four years!

They did beat Capital this week (which seemed to go unnoticed on this board).  Not to say that's a huge accomplishment this year, but I don't think many here expected it.  If JCU can take one of the next two (I think they should), they will end up with a winning record in the OAC.

O'Brien was the leading rusher in the game leading me to think Regis has abandoned to the forward pass

BTW After seeing Capital in "action" in Alliance, they were just totally without talent.
That's COLD! My observations are that there are some bright spots...Assman,Frankert,Jacobs and one guard. The team was totally out matched. The new"coaching staff"leaves a lot to be desired!

Are there any NCAA/NCAC rules after an ejection that would affect playing in the next game?

i have been of the mindset that even if a player, later determined to be ineligible, plays in a game it shouldnt just be a cut and dry situation.  I dont know anything about this kid and his performance, did he play in the game?  like actually contribute, or did he just get in towards the end of the game for a few snaps?  I would hate to see Mount get punished for something like that.  if he was the main rusher for the day and had 3 tds, than thats a different story.
Yes he did play....45 yds

Perhaps it was a case of self reporting. It is D3 football and I am sure that the NCAA has bigger fish to fry!

Having known Larry since 1968, I prefer to think he hasn't gone Pete Carroll on us. From the information that is available today, and the information that privacy laws will keep private, it looks like TJ has some 'spaining' to do and the NCCA will do as they please as they always do, however they may avoid involving the current President of AFCA in anything or not

So what's the story on Mount's TJLattimore? He played in game 2...questioned byNCAA 09/23....no longer on roster. If he was ineligible, will Mount have to forfeit?

I think I recall that they did away with redshirts at the DIII level only.  Players can still claim medical hardships to get back a year but if they start out elsewhere (NAIA, DII, DI - FCS or FBS) and don't see the field in a game situation, then their DIII clock hasn't begun ticking.

Here's the real question: Why do we keep allowing ourselves to think that the NCAA makes any kind of sense?
How true!

Question? How can a player who was on the roster of a D2 or NAIA team last year and doesn't play as a freshman transfer to a D3 school and still be listed as a freshman?Yet if a freshman listed on a D3 team doesn't play & transfers to another D3 school is considered a sophmore?Just doesn't seem equitable.

Does anyone know who/when/where Cap scrimmages?  I (shockingly) didn't see it on their site.
Sat @ Cap vs Malone 2PM?
