Well, I'd like to see both ODAC teams at Salem. I'm having difficulty accounting for 4 bids last year and only two this year. It's not like those four teams didn't represent well. There has got to be a better way.

RE: RMC not hosting... Last night on Hoopsville there was discussion about RMC getting a bye and hosting the 2nd round so women could host. If they are still alive I wonder if the might host 3rd round?

At this point I don't care where the Royals get sent. I think they will take care of business on the road. Just hope they get to keep dancing.

From an objective point of view it would be hard to argue that EMU is not one of the 61 best teams in the country. That said, were dealing with NCAA formulas and politics is uncertain at best. Pat and crew are usually pretty close on their projections so I'm not too optimistic.

Unfortunately, Kirby had trouble finding D3 teams that wanted to play a top 10 team early in the season. I wonder if EMU would have been better served not playing non-NCAA competition since they don't count in the region. Hopefully SOS will be considered by the committee.

I predict that an unblemished run through the ODAC will be nearly impossible in 2010-11. A lot can happen between now and next October but I'm sure EMU will not be surprising anybody next year.

Ahh what a weekend. Much like the weather Saturday. Started out beautiful but ended a little dreary. While i'm sure it is no consolation to coach Dean and the team, I'm sure if anyone had said the Royals would be among the last 8 DIII teams playing they would have been delighted. Thanks for a great season and for bringing more excitement than previously imaginable to EMU. You've made us proud to be alumni.

Kudos to the Quakers on an inspired and complete effort. Tyler got his, as usual, but the rest of the cast showed up as well. Having 3 of the last 8 teams from the ODAC and 2 of the final four attests to the strength of the conference. I'd love to see an all ODAC championship.

Kudos as well to the event staff at Guilford for getting a little more cool air in the place for Saturday night. Above all my deep respect for taking decisive action to remove the young fan who was wildly out of bounds in his actions. Thankfully, most all the other fans, on both sides, were spirited and respectful in their cheering which made for a tremedous environment to complement a well played and officated game.

Hasanova, Sorry I missed you but we had a fine time and ate too much good food in Greensboro. Maybe next year you all can come to our house  ;)

QuoteHey royalrooter - glad you liked Stamey's.  It was a bit of a madhouse tonight as far as the crowd was concerned - kudos to EMU for bringing such a large and enthusiastic crowd - I expect more of the same tomorrow.

INDEED It was a madhouse. But I love it. Any chance we could get the facilities folks to fire up the chiller and get us some AC for tonight? I was so dehydrated I made it through the night with out checking the plumbing ::)

Win or lose it has been a spectacular ride and I expect we'll see another great game tonight.  I think we'll get there early.

WOW!!! I don't care who we play. this is big fun. Reminds me of BC football in 2000. The door mat rises up and gets it done. It must be the year for under dog karma.  Saints, EMU BB and Broadway BB. Whoda thunk it?

Llama,
you are correct Hasanova is a great host.  I haven't seen him yet this evening but he was dead on with the tip about Stameys BBQ.

KUDOs to the ODAC and go gobblers!

I'm thinking I might want to catch some NC BBQ as we are getting to town. We'll be coming from the north on 220 and New Garden Rd. We won't have much time to waste. Good and quick would be the priorities. I know BBQ preference is about like scripture interpretation but recommendations will be appreciated.

Hasasnova,
Thanks for the warm welcome.

I wonder if you could offer some tips regarding parking. From the campus map it didn't appear that there was much parking around RB field house. In previous visits for Ftbl I ususally ended up near the baseball field. I did see large lots out along New Garden rd. but it looked like a pretty good hike from there.

Hasanova,
It was a pleasure meeting you at Salem during the ODAC tourney. I finally, got myself registered with a new user name now that I'm in the basketball world. I'm an EMU alum and employee of over 20 years and I can tell you this is the most excitement we've seen on campus in 35 years.

I was first introduced to D3football.com about 1998 when my son was playing football at BC. After he graduated I changed my username to xbcdad and haven't been very active on the boards but have continued to lurk and finally decided to get back on board now that the Royals are making a run.

I made a room reservation last Sunday evening and picked up tickets today so I'm excited about the trip. I understand EMU was alotted 400 tickets. After setting aside tickets for family and officials I understand there were only about 100 left this afternoon. I know the President and quite a few staff are returning early from spring break and plan to be in Greensboro for Friday's games. I'm guessing quite a few students will be stopping by as well. I note that the website lists Ragan-Brown capacity at 2500 so I hope that will allow for ticket sales at the door.

In any event I'm sure it will be a great weekend and I'll be on the look out for you.
