I realize that the horse is dead in regards to this subject but I have not been on the site for a week and am just getting to some of these posts.  It is clear that Grey is one of the more immature coaches I have ever seen at any level.  It is one thing to be competitive but a whole different thing to not shake a 20 year olds hand while he is trying to apologize and to yell at officials from the stands during a JV game and I could name some other incidents that did not involve the heat of the battle behavior.

Q, I appreciate you putting this on the post on behalf of someone from Augustana but I don't believe it for a second.  I know there are plenty of people at the university who are embarrassed by his behavior and are put in a position to  make excuses but it is getting to to be awfully challenging for them rationalize his behavior.  I am waiting for the time when someone in the administration has the guts to say enough is enough.

I appreciate Augustana fans loyalty to his school but I am not sure he really would want his football coaches to behave like Grey just to get back to their glory days of football.  The reality is that Coach Reade never behaved like this and we were incredibly successful.  Grey has had some success during the regular season but I can't help believe that his antics wear thin on his players and this is why they have had such poor success in the NCAA tournaments.

I hope I don't stir up a whole new discussion on this but wanted to get my opinion out there.

I received an e-mail tonight from someone close to the Augustana program who said that Coach G did not say anything to provoke Victor's reaction after that made 3-pointer early in the game.  Since I watched the game from the comfort of my basement in Lincoln, Nebraska, I have no way at all to sort out the truth.  Just wanted to post that other side of the story to be fair, and out of respect for the person who e-mailed me.

I am going to predict that IWU gets in over Lake Forest.  Lake Forest has no one to blame but themselves.  You can't be blamed for your conference being less than challenging but you can determine your non conference games and they sure haven't pushed themselves.

This is my prediction for this weekend in Bloomington.

Carthage beats Wheaton in a close ugly game.
IWU beats Millikin by 20

Carthage beats IWU in a slugfest.

Augustana looked uninspired.  I suspect Coach G's antics can wear kids down.

Good luck to all four teams.  It should be a good tournament.

I like your way of looking at the situation.

And One

Aaron did not run to the other end without anyone following him.  Eliud followed him all the way to the baseline.  Eliud got caught in no mans land as he ran out to three point area when Kevin split the two defenders with an easy pass over his head.  I am sure Eliud just got caught up in the moment but he would have been much better serve to stay back there and allow the Titans to catch up and foul Kevin.  Seeing Kevin's ft percentage, I am afraid there wasn't a great option on that play.

I will also say that the older crowd at IWU are very loyal but they lack some basketball knowledge based on the comments they yell at the refs every game I have attended.  Tonight I thought the worst was when Zimmer was hurt by running into the shoulder of a screen.  The North Central player setting the screen may have ducked a shoulder but it clearly wasn't malicious and maybe not even a foul.  The IWU fans are spouting at the ref during the first few minutes that Zimmer lay on the ground with a trainer over him.  This wasn't the students this was the older Titan fans.  I appreciate the passion but a real lack of perspective to be yelling at the officials for a couple minutes when one of your players is laying on the ground injured.  Just an observation.

IWU70.  Couldn't disagree with you more.  Conventional wisdom tells you to take the two if they give it to you.  Which they did.  Missing a lay up is not a coaching issue.

North Central will win their first game by three touchdowns and will beat Wabash by two touchdowns.

I would like to see Amy Burton get a shot to replace Shelby Jackson.  She could give you some necessary rebounds  Then I think you can bring in Katie Seibring, Lexi Baltes, and Colleen McMahon off of the bench.

Was at the North Central game.  Never felt like a game.  Complete domination.

Not sure how Wheaton is ranked higher than IWU with IWU winning the head to head and their only loss is to a team ranked higher than both of them.

I know Augustana hadn't won a game but I still don't think I would consider a win at home against Carthage a surprise.

congratulations to North Park.  I am going to predict that North Park finishes higher than Augustana in the standings.  Anyone agree with me on this one?

I agree with Sager.  Rouser, I am curious.  What do you mean by your last statement?
