IF a player is academically ineligible (fall semester) what is the worst that happens?  They practice with the team, but miss 7 pre-conference games, and yes that could hurt later playing time.  If the grades improve by Christmas break they get their shot.
If I were the parent of a player you can be sure I would sit down and explain to the little "darling" that play time does not come at the expense of hitting the books.  If the player puts being an athlete ahead of being a student perhaps a little public humiliation may be what is best to help establish proper priorities. ;)

In regards to the "potential " ineligible player only missing 7 pre-confernece games, the rules actually state that an ineligible player cannot play in a game until classes start second semester.  In this case the player would miss the first 13 games of the season (over half) if Hope starts class at the same date Trine does (Jan. 11th)?

I spoke to the head coach at Trine recently and he told me that the RDV tourney in Orlando was a tourney with the possiblity of a Hope Trine Final.  He said that Coach V and he were not happy about it but the organizers down at RDV wanted it that way.

Just got home from watching a relative of mine play AAU ball down in Ft. Wayne and I ran into a person who is connected in the league and they informed me that Coach Neil has no chance at the head job since he does not have a master's degree? Does anyone know whether he does/does not have his master's degree?  the name this source mentioned was the head coach at Buena Vista in Iowa?
