Can we get a new thread for Saint Rose baseball talk?

I want to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this SUNYAC season.

The Skidmore coaching staff loves to switch lineups, batting orders, pitching rotations, and basically everything they can try to put their own fingerprints on (which usually wind up hurting players' confidences/rhythms), but I'm not quite sure why they would move the 1-2 starters (Laracuente/Brucato) to day two against Vassar.  Who knows if they had gone day 1 if anything would have changed, but I just think it's a weird ploy.

Mark us confused.

Some would say it's a smart move to have the 1 and 2 going in the 9-inning games.

I'm watching an episode of Spencer For Hire and it dawns on me that I think other teams in the league will do the same thing soon.

Really don't understand all the second-guessing of coaching that goes on in this league. So many of these guys spend so much time standing behind the guys who let them down by becoming academically ineligible as upperclassmen, then welcome them back once the GPAs are in order. You never hear those stories. It's always these guys want to put "fingerprints" on their teams.

Duh. That's what coaches do. It's time for alumni across the LL to stand up for their schools, show a little love for their alma maters, and not keep grinding those axes for no reason.

Yeah, because only Plattsburgh changed bats.

Let's face it, all the offseason bluster was just that. Bluster. Maybe they should practice more.

And credit to voters for keeping Cortland in the poll at 1-3. They know who the class of the SUNYAC is.

Plattsburgh out of the Top 25 already? Did they lose to St. Michaels or Clinton Community College or the University of Ogdensburg or something?

Or did voters just come to their senses?

Not bitter, not angry. Appreciate the concern, but naw, I'm straight.

Just telling it the way it is.

His "ace" had an ERA of 10.48 vs. SUNYAC teams last season. Think about that. And they're the 25th-best team in the country?

It's absurd.

As Jay-Z once said, "What you want me to say, I'm sorry? I'm back."

So I just perused the Plattsburgh schedule for 2011 ... he's got some powerhouses. Yes, he plays Heidelberg (and surely got the Cusic organizers to squeeze him in between two of the 'Berg's better matchups).

Among this year's highlights on Doorey's schedule:

-- Of his first five opponents (Old Westbury, Southern Maine, Ithaca, Dubuque and Milikin), none was better than 20-18 last season. Combined, they were 86-118-1. Quality.

-- He can play Utica (7-25), SUNY Canton (2-year school) and the powerhouse St. Michael's (6-27-1), but no RPI, Skidmore or St. Lawrence?

Guess 2010 taught no one anything ... you can't beat the sisters of the deceased and think you're getting into the NCAAs.

Ithaca and Southern Maine are substantial upgrades. Both had down years last year but have been perennial playoff contenders.

Dubuque, 11 wins.
Milikin, 11 wins.
Utica, 7 wins.
St. Michael's, 6 wins.
Canton?
And only 1 Liberty League team?

Not upgraded at all.

Outstanding, Cortland. Just outstanding. Nothing to be ashamed of at all. The entire SUNYAC should stand and salute those guys.

How soon can we start the debate on whether Plattsburgh is the third-best team in the country?

Cortland, Oneonta and Brockport represented the SUNYAC very well in this tournament.

Just reviewed the coaching salaries at Plattsburgh. Very interesting, women's hockey checks in at No 1, followed by men's hockey, men's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, women's soccer, track and field, softball, lacrosse and baseball.

I can't believe women's hockey was atop the list, comfortably I might add.

Wish there was a total budget search tool for the SUNYAC. There probably is. Anyone know where?

OK, seriously, I lost two more karma points for this one?
C'mon people. You're only making me hotter!
