Platteville's season comes to a end with a overtime loss to Wisconsin Lutheran. So do the careers of seniors Logan Pearson, Brady Olson and Ben Probst. They will be missed. Platteville was up by 11 points early in the 2nd half but they couldn't land a knockout punch. Credit to Wisconsin Lutheran they fought and clawed their way to the win. Wisconsin Lutheran's Ryan Broeckel played the entire game.

What will be the attendance in the 6000 seat Center ?Box score said a little over 1,000 in attendance. Game photos looked like the lower seats were full the upper seats and the ends not so much.

I don't think Grinnell has faced a defense like Platteville tonight. Platteville cruises to a 123-97 win. They will face Wisconsin Lutheran tomorrow. Wisconsin Lutheran beat Calvin.

Hard to get a feel for Grinnell they have no common opponents with Platteville. Only 2 teams in the Midwest Conference played WIAC teams. Ripon lost to Whitewater and Oshkosh and Cornell beat Whitewater. Grinnell split their 2 games with Ripon and beat Cornell twice. Looking at their box scores it looks like they score a lot points but also gives up a lot of points.

March 03, 2025, 02:08:05 PMQuote from: faunch on March 03, 2025, 01:46:18 PMHow does U of Chicago get to host with an 18-7 record, pool C bid and 34 NPI?They mentioned on the selection show that Illinois Wesleyan will be hosting the Women's tournament this weekend. I don't know why St John's wouldn't host unless it's a travel thing.

Both Platteville and LaCrosse are hosting the first weekend games. Platteville plays Grinnell. Wisconsin Lutheran and Calvin are the other 2 teams at Platteville this weekend. LaCrosse plays Greenville on Friday while Carthage and St. Norbert will also travel to LaCrosse. NCAA must not have a problem using the LaCrosse Center as a venue. The only thing I know about Grinnell is they used to be run it up the court and shoot a quick three.

The LaCrosse Center isn't that bad for basketball. When the WIAA Boys Basketball Tournament was held there they didn't use the lower seats because of Covid keeping people apart. I remember going to LaCrosse Catbird (CBA) games there right after the Center opened. They were selling taps of Old Style for a dollar so I don't remember that much.

I heard on the news yesterday that they will be tearing down Zorn arena in Eau Claire. There's a lot of history in that building.

Platteville takes care of LaCrosse 89-68 to win the WIAC Tournament for the 2nd year in a row. It was 41-28 at halftime and Platteville stretched the lead to over 15 points in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half to secure the win. It's now wait and see who and where they will play next weekend. Given Platteville's history of hosting NCAA Tournament games they have a good shot at hosting the first weekend.

Hats off to Stevens Point they wouldn't back down. Several times Platteville had a 7 or 8 point lead and you thought they were starting to pull away and SP would close the gap back to a one procession game. I didn't see what happened to Malik but SP didn't let that phase them. Ben Probst also went down he tried to come back but he finished the game in the training room. The way the game was called you thought the refs were getting paid by the number of times they blew their whistle. When Logan Pearson fouled out with 1:30 left and Platteville was up by 7 the rest of the team picked it up and made their free thows to secure the win. It seemed like Platteville was playing not to lose instead of playing to win. If they play like that against La Crosse it could be another long night.

I see that the 2026 Final 4 will be at Duquesne University at their Cooper Field House which seats 3,500. Any chance that Eau Claire could host at their new Sonntag Center or Oshkosh at the Oshkosh Arena

Interesting.Stout's Fox and WW's Barnstable both transfer portaled to small D1 schools. Platteville's Logan Pearson was offered a full ride to UWGB but chose to stay at Platteville. I hope the WIAC doesn't become a farm system for D1 programs.

Platteville wins at WW 78-62 to clinch the #1 Seed in the WIAC Tournament. Miles Hettinger came off the bench to lead Platteville with 17 points. Hettinger and Furheman were a big problem for WW all night both in scoring and rebounding. Ben Probst became Platteville's all time leader in 3 point baskets. Platteville finishes its regular season Saturday when it hosts RF.

Your Dad may be thinking of Briggs and Stratton which makes lawn mower engines and is also in Wauwatosa.![]()

Platteville takes care of Stout 76-53. Logan Pearson leads Platteville with 16 points just falling short of 2,000 career points. Miles Hettinger came off the bench and scored 14 points had a number of steals on defense.
