Well, I just broke my rule about coming back to this board. Maybe I'll post once a year like another poster that tried to explain to everyone why no one out side of WW comes on this board. I wasn't planning on replying again until I saw this on the WIAC in-game updates board from MasterJedi:

QuoteMaybe they should say that they're sorry that Taylor Edwards plays at UWRF instead of any other UW school, he's wasting his talents when he could probably be putting up big numbers and winning somewhere else.

My jaw dropped to the floor. I guess this group stooped to an all time low by making a comment like that. While this is one person's comment, it seems to summarize the WW group on here of looking down their nose at the rest of the teams in the conference.

To you MasterJedi, why not post your name on the site if you want to personally bash a young man that did nothing wrong to you other than transfer to another school. Who knows his reason for doing so, but for you to rip him for it really shows your character. Are you so stuck on WW that you would personally rip a fine young man from the Whitewater area (Janesville)? Apparently.

There are some on this board that are better than others, but I think you all need to take a closer look at who it typing on your end when you can't figure out why no one wants to come on this board. Talk about being full of yourselves. I am glad to say that your players and coaches act much better and represent your program than you do. I believe River Falls gave WW much more of a game than they thought they would get today. When done, they were very gracious and had good things to say about the River Fall's team, as did the River Falls team back to them. How about showing some of the same on the board and maybe you will get people to give you a little more respect and come on here to carry on good equal conversations.

WW fans only need to look as far as to what is happening with St. John's right now on their board. People that were tired of the bashing for a long time seem to be taking joy in doing the same back. Enjoy the ride while you can and great job today by the WW players and coaches. They played a good game.

Yes it is only our radio coverage.  Ramer Field is still third-class and has no internet either.

Mobile...broadband...card.  The internet can't hide anymore.
The last time I checked, we are all state funded schools, yet River Falls has been the last to get most upgrades to their athletic facilities. Of course, if some off you want to refer your deep pocket funders our way, we can get it upgraded to what everyone else has.  ::)

BTW, you just gotta love the continued digs by those that have of those that don't on this site.  ::)

For UWW to get ITS facility upgrades it took a hell of a lot of private fundraising locally.  Huge Kudos to Paul Plinske, Bob Berezowitz and a number of others for seeding the football facility upgrade.  If fundraising was easy EVERYONE would do it!
I don't disagree, but how does that justify the snide comment by Just Bill? After watching the game, it reminded me of something someone told me a long time ago. Do not judge a team by it's fans, as they don't select them or have any control of them. I can say the team handled themselves well and are a well coached. As for some of their fans, well they have to look at themselves in the mirror each day and answer if they are representing "their" team the best way.

I will end with something that will likely not break a few hearts on here. I am going to walk away from this site for the rest of the season. I can get the information that I need else where and would rather stay away from those that don't seem to have a positive view of our conference as a whole. I wish the best to everyone on the rest of the season and hope the WIAC brings home a national champion.

Hope alot of these young minnesota players from UWRF stay at UWRF in the coming years!  Seems they have a few decent young players in Adams, Mandoza, Bjorkland, Mehan, Brandt, and Udeh to name those listed in the recap! Things will get better there for sure!
And I hope the arrogant people in the south stay there! BTW, I live south and am glad my son decided to go north!

+K all around!!!! for non-UWW fan appreciation day  ;)
Well, thank you.

I failed to mention that I will be at the game on Saturday. Who is traveling to River Falls from the WW clan on here? We could meet at a neutral part of the field, say the south end by the buildings. ;)

I am traveling from the Chicago suburbs to River Falls.  Will have family contingent with me.  How is River Falls about tailgating in the parking lots???
They are fine with it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of it there. They have a club that has a tent near the stadium in which they grill things for the booster club members.

I would go for it and enjoy yourself.

I'll say it again, River Falls should be a cupcake for UWW. RF's strength (rushing) plays in to UWW's strength and RF's defense in general is really bad.

The last three games on the schedule UWSP, UWO and UWLC will not be pushovers, just like the other games weren't either.
And if I had the ability to give you -K then I would.  ;)

... Personally I feel that River Falls will be a cupcake, though UWW can't take them lightly. ...
... helpless team - that might weigh on the mind of the coaching staff as the game progresses.  This game has the potential to get Dakota State ugly, but I see Whitewater taking steps in attempt to avoid doing that to another WIAC school if at all possible. ...
This is my first full football season of reading this site regularly. Before now, I checked it every once and a while.

On that note, I do find it interesting the choice of words that are used by what seems to be primarily WW fans. One thing that I would like to remind those people of is that it isn't a matter of if, it is a matter of time before the tide will change and there will be another team on top in the conference and the division. I just wonder how those people will react to those comments if they were made about the WW team?  :-\

Wondering if any of you would know the answer, or where to find it.  What are the rules for medical redshirt?  Is there a certain time limit when a player becomes ineligible?  For instance, a player would injure himself this last game and the season is half over, are they still eligible?  No reason...just curious.

We use 'redshirt' but I believe the NCAA refers to it as a Hardship Waiver.  Injury/illness must occur before the completion of the 1st half of the season.  The can get injured between the last game of the first half of the season and the next game kicking off the second half and still be eligible to apply for a Hardship.  After granted a Hardship by the conference or NCAA, the player can still practice/rehab without loosing a year (10 semesters or 15 quarters to start and finish playing).

Do a search for the NCAA Division III manual for exact info.
Thanks.  I found a form for medical hardship on wiacsports.com.  I figure that's the right place to look for WIAC?  But it was confusing.  It asks about participating in no more than 1/3 of the maximum number of games plus one.  Then in another place it asks about whether or not the injury occured in the first half of the year, plus one for tournament play   ???
Why the two different questions?
Are all applications granted if they fall during the first half, or are there other criteria involved?
If this is for a current player, I am sure the coach would help with the paperwork.

Does the WIAC have a variable to red shirting, as they do grey shirting? I believe the NCAA's rules on grey shirting are that you can practice, where the WIAC will not allow you to practice. Does that variable exist for red shirting too?

BTW, my last post has a typo too. It is suppose to be Your.

It is too bad this board doesn't allow editing for those challenged like myself.  ;)

It does, but you have to earn that privilege -- we don't give it to the newest posters because there was a tendency to abuse it. You should qualify to move to second-stringer soon.
Thanks.  :D
