and BTW Kalema was falling and off balance as he drove so he was never even touched by Jensen

Why don't you check out David's mouth...I guess those 6 stitches were caused by him doing....

Jensen blocked the shot, then hit him in the mouth on the foul through.

Middlebury's replay ability allowed those watching on line to see it multiple times

I've seen coaches/players/fans/parents/security/ushers/popcorn vendors/etc...do way worse.

And there is a violation that could've been called.  Disconcertion of the shooter.  It wasn't called.

I remember another NESCAC coach standing on the court as players would run down the sideline...he provided one hell of a trap at home.  I've seen another coach come and stand next to the opposing teams bench while his team was shooting FTs so he could tell them what to do defensively.  These are all parts of the game.

Keep in mind that there was no call for when David Kalema was hit in the face (required 6 stitches, btw)...another part of the game apparently.

Challenge the tactics, strategy, play-calling and what you want...personal attacks on chat boards are childish.  And I'm sure there will be people who write letters and the such complaining about his antics.  Clearly you guys do not know Dave Hixon.

Depspite tonight's game, Toomey is an absolute force on offense. However, Kizel was the best player on the court. He always plays huge in big games.

You are outside of your mind if you think anyone but Willy Workman was the best player on the court.  Not to take away from Kizel, Thompson or Kaasila who all played monster games.  Workman was the best.

Best Triple OT game I've seen in the CAC since '02 at Amherst.  This time the Lord Jeffs prevailed.

Sure they would love to have Ray and Stockwell back.....

Zak can still play.  He's probably better now than he was in college.

Let's not forget that Trinity Hockey made it to 2 Frozen Fours in the early 2000's messing with Midd's dominance.  Baseball, I think the call it America's pasttime, has been pretty good in Hartford as well.  Not sure how many pros they've turned out since 2003 but my guess it is the most of any 'CAC school.

And yes Amherst and Williams compete with the Ivy League for recruits, but not the top guys in the Ivy League anymore.  I don't think this guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpEsSebblPA&list=UUhN--EaKG1qig-gwl7XRK3w&index=1&feature=plcp) ever entertained wearing either purple

Hoops Fan....You raised a good point about body control, court sense, and on floor smarts about D1 players on good teams.
However, after watching NCAA games and even NIT teams....I even wonder if D1 tournament players have that much over top D3 players.

They don't, because most top d3 players are of similar caliber.  That was my point.  Obviously the best in d1 are much better than the best in d3 - but I don't see why any of the guys in the all-star game couldn't be contributors on a d1 team with a winning record.

They do...it's generally speed, athleticism, size and skill that they have over D3 players.  Yes, there are exceptions to the rule...but not as many as we (current and former d3 players) would like to think.

The only way Anthony Davis doesn't average more than 25 ppg is if he only plays 12 minutes or less each game.

I'm hoping that the Naismith Player of the Year would be the leading scorer in D3.  Considering this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMx4pDtL1uA averaged 22.4 and 16.3, I'd say so.  Matter of fact, I'd say that this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aGOQ8arBkc would average more than 25 and 16 as well

They are a pretty tight committed bunch of guys who don't want the season to end

I'm sure that can be said for most of the 16 left

Hayk has about 70% good games and 30% off nights.
Hopefully for F&M, Friday is a good game.
Salandra, the other forward, ended the season at about 65%.

I know Salandra, liked his game a lot in high school.  I like Amherst's chances if he's the #3 guy in scoring.

I don't see Kaasila being close enough to hit him.  Watching it live, from the side of the court that the play happened, Thompson's reaction was to a hit to the body...not a bump on the arm.  The flight path of the ball was normal, just way left...which is what happens when a body gets turned as another player runs into you.

Free throw in question starts at 2:51

Regardless of what the officials said, Midd hit Midd

Thompson ends up with it 8-10 feet from the hoop, left, throws up a prayer, not close, gets fouled in the process.

Ref acknowledges the foul but says it was after the time had run out. No complaints. Probably right. There's not a ref in the world that would have called a foul in that situation, me included.

Closest guy to Thompson was Jensen...I don't think teammates can foul each other, but there were some wild calls all weekend.

Only guy who had a better weekend than these teams was Walzy

I like my defensive players to be on the floor as much as possible and get a lot of stops.

nescac1, I don't think there is a single person that posts or lurks on this board that has not done what I posted.  I was not singling you out, more just stating some Todd Crosset style thinking.

Looked like Wang did a much better job of getting a closer end-of-game shot at Midd than he did against Amherst.  He's going to make the next one.

Old Guy, "goon" and "beast" are two very different terms.  Sharry is not a goon.

Fandom is an amazing thing.  It allows us to justify reffing one game and overly-critique it the next even if your team shoots more FTs in both games.

My favorite part was when the announcers stated they'd never seen a game with 20 fouls called in the 2nd half....classic.

Let's all relax on the officials...they did not (opposed to what the announcers said) change the outcome of the game.  Some calls were made, some were not.  Half the people watching are mad at every call.

And sometimes as a coach, when you've already set up what you want to do offensively after the free throw, you leave it to your players.  Wang hit that shot last year in LeFrak (only affecting the $ in Vegas) and it wasn't a bad look.
