Big win Martin. Good to see UD mustard up more than one hit this series. Jokes and bad BV defense aside that is a good win for the Spartans. That Lindmark kid must be good. He held the kohawks bats down. Sounds like it was even a hitters day with the wind.

Myguess on week two.
I see Wartburg taking 2 wins at home. As always the wind will be blowing out to RF in Waverly and I would hope that last weekend should light a fire under the knights. The game one pitching match up could be a good one if early season stats hold true. (Watson vs. Pulliam) Might be 10 K's for each team in that one.
I see Loras taking 2 from Simpson at home, I just don't know what Simpson is after that UD double dip. So Ill give the nod to the home team coming off getting swept. If Loras doesn't show up this weekend it could be tuff for them to get back into the race.
I see Coe taking 2 from Luther. Again not sure what kind of team Luther is. I thought they would finish 6th or 7th this year and a sweep of Cornell is almost a given for the top 7 teams in the league. Based on over all record this should be a good series. I think both teams have something to prove.
BV will sweep Dubuque. Enough said.
I'm looking forward to some better weather so I can actually go out and see a game or two
Guess enough NOT SAID! The mighty BV goes down to UD 11-10 !

It appears that the top two-thirds of the IIAC is off and running. I am still not sure what to think of an 8-1 Dubuque squad. Two nice wins (St. Joeseph's and North Park), but also a handfull of wins against some average at best programs. Blackburn is currently 0-10 and a DH vs Crown today should easily be another pair of Ws for Dubuque. They could move to 10-1 without anyone noticing.
This could provide a great race for the six playoff spots in the IIAC.
Don't leave out SUNY Plattsburg whom they disposed of in great fashion. How far will a little more experience take them....? Lets see.

Yah a bit of a late start for some. The "Dome" caving in did not help! It did look cool on film though
. UD is headed south next week to tune up for the season as Im sure are the rest of the "late" starters. With as many games as all have scheduled Im sure they all will be ready for the fierce confrence battle to begin.
Your question about the the new bat ruel is awsome! We will now see who the the Baseball players at all levels of college play are! Let the games begin. Can you say " Hit the opposite way or bunt for a single? Bunt at all! Those thugs brought up to swing for the fences with no clue how to play the game will be LONG GONE!!

For your record...I am so far removed from a player on this team, you need to all get a life.I thought I would sign on and bring some fresh blood to this board with hopes of some sort of civil banter (I was proven wrong) by the 2 resident "Pros" as to why places (forums) like this have little or no regulars.
You can now go back to your holes and wait......for the next decent person who dares to log in with their opinion and......jump on with your obvious professional experience that anyone with a computer has access to base your rebuttle.
I am a UD fan and hope these boys will prove me right! Go UD have a great year!
Good luck to you guys! Have a fun here on your forum....all 2 of you.

Agreed on all pappa. My opinion was based on overall improvement as a team not just last years stats as picked apart by your buddy. They started 7 FRESHMAN! The middle infield can turn a dp with the best...Ive watched it.The short stop can RAKE as the stats show.He will be better on D as he settles in and does not have to cover 3rd base as much. The 2nd baseman is one of the best you will find in this div IMO. Steady and belongs at short but Danna cannot make the turns. If any of you have seen them turn the dp you will agree.
Starting line up?
LOL Besides Martin 2 Danna 3 your guess.....but it will be better!
Starting line up?

You cant be serious! How about the fact that UD has finished 8th or 9th In the IIAC, eight out of the last ten years. How about the fact that UD finished 8th or 9th in just about every statistical category in the IIAC in 2010. Being young is a bad excuse for poor performance. You won't be a better baseball player just because you are one year older. You are talking about Danna as "one of the best young middle infielders around"? I will give you that he can hit, but as a middle infielder? His .850 fielding percentage with 27 errors doesn't even qualify him as an "average" middle infielder. In fact if you compare him to every other starting SS in the IIAC (2010) he ranks last in most fielding statistics. There were plenty of other freshmen that played well in 2010.
The IIAC with "no lights out pitchers" held those fighting Spartans to a impressive .251 average and .360 slugging % in 2010
Talk to us at the end of the year if UD finishes above 8th or 9th.

Top notch no agreed but.....I personaly saw no lights out pitching from any team in this conference. They UD have suffered terrible defense for a while (long).Strong up the middle is the anchor to any defense, a well known fact. Center field is solid, 1st base is good and they picked up a legit 3rd baseman.
Agreed pitching did cost them quite a few woulda coulda shoulda wins last year. They did show good signs of developing young arms and a couple of upper classmen stepped up and matured.
Just my opinion but....UD will turn a few heads this year and, it wont be their own whip lash watchin balls scream over their heads.Cant wait.We shall see.

I put Dubuque in the bottom three in the IIAC.
Based on ? Did you see them play at all last year? They have one of the best ,young middle infields arround (iiac).
