Hope needed a lot of help to win this one. And boy did they get it. Wow. Credit to Hope for making a lot of shots but...

Omg Wallace Whitfield is reffing the Trine/Olivet game. I'm nervous already. How does this guy still have a job?

I might be interpreting what happened incorrectly but the funniest part of the night for me was late in the 2nd half Wallace Whitfield stopped the game  to make sure the 29 seconds on the shot clock was correct.  After a brief discussion Whitfield and Bart Wagenke determined the shot clock was correct, all this time Ernst was yelling across the gym directly at Wallace.  Just as the ball is about to be put in play Wagenke stops the game again and then resets the  shot clock.

FWIW I did not think Whitfield was bad tonight.  I haven't seen is name in box scores a lot this year I was surprised to see him assigned to this game.

He didn't turn the game into a clown show so he has a lot to be proud of :)

I haven't had a problem with the officiating all year. I was actually complimenting these crews for being much improved over what I used to see in this conference. But today's refs at Calvin struggled big time. Let's hope they don't officiate any of the tournament games

Olivet > Hope. Even without Garner Small. I love seeing the better team win!

Wednesday: Alma @ Adrian

Officials: Whitfield; Bowers; Weiber.

Why does Whitfield still ref in the MIAA? Let alone ADRIAN GAMES! He's the most one-sided official I've ever seen. Get him outta here...

Gene Gifford being fired is a traveshamockery and I lost a lot of respect for Olivet Athletics upon hearing this news last night.  He deserves much better treatment and the basketball program that he winds up coaching for in the future will be lucky to have him.

Nice win for the Knights today as the league's best big man was Kruis'n with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Rietema, DeBoer and Powell also with double figures.

It was nice that they won, but I would not classify it as a "nice win" as they let an inferior team hang around until the last minute.

38 free throw attempts? Mmhmm...
12-4 first half fouls? 25-13 total fouls? Mmhmm...
Olivet deserved this win. The MIAA wasn't about to allow that to happen and rob themselves of another Calvin/Hope game on Wednesday. Everyone conveniently gets what they want

if anyone says they saw that bryan powell dunk coming, they'd be lying.  this neutral observer had to pick his jaw up off the floor after that.  very glad they showed multiple replays on the broadcast.  if there's been a better play in D3 this year, i'd love to see it...

also, can anyone that was at the alma/adrian game describe the final sequence of events? the livestats guy seemed to be off his rocker
