Congrats UWW!  Represent the WIAC well.  Hope to watch the games online.

As far as Point goes, JB and Dan thank you for your efforts this year.  Remember BB doesn't define you!  Good luck in the future.  Next year's team is a wildcard because honestly we don't know what we have -- but let's see if our movement toward youth pays off.

I didn't get a chance to watch or listen to the Point game -- I know we lost.  Any insights on the game?  What happened?

My thoughts exactly.  I have, with others here, long been predicting that a lack of bench play would catch up to us.  It now has.  Imagine if Tyler Forsythe and the other bigs had been better developed.  I fear we have not only disheartened some of the freshmen but maybe delayed their development.  There is nothing that can take the place of game time experience.  In addition, we still need someone to make a game time adjustment.  Maybe Coach D will take a more prominent role in that area.  I've sat behind the bench at home and heard, "Be solid.  Play harder!  Be smart!"  That's not coaching, that's cheerleading.  I'm sure some of our frustrations will be addressed in Points next practice.  If not, the focus will be on the next season soon enough.  Go Point!

How important were the two former assistant coaches to the past success of UWSP?  Did they perhaps take more of the "Xs and Os" of the games?

I got a chance to watch the entire game on the web.  RF looked up for the game and had a very aggressive game plan.  We seemed to come out flat and did not seem to know how to score without Tyler on the floor.  It appears, with all do respect, that we got coached plain and simple.  We have known for days that Tyler would not be on the floor.  It didn't seem tonight that we made any adjustments to fix that.  RF came to play and they spanked us!

Well ... a tough way to end the regular season.  I know this is my first year of UWSP BB but here is what I saw (I know we may still play down the road this year):

pros:
+ thank you for the great effort JB.  You often seemed to be a man on an island inside and you were consistent.  I wish we could have given you some help with some other bigs.
+ Dan T. thanks for the effort and for entertaining the crowd with your passion and athleticism.
+ thanks for the fans that traveled the 3+ hours to watch a game that wasn't the most entertaining for Point fans.  I am proud to be part of the UWSP tradition.  What a great fan base!
+ youth for the future.  Let's hope the young players stick around for the next couple of years.  The lack of sophs and juniors may have hurt us at times this year.  We could have used some more experience off the bench.

cons:
- it is obvious that we have no real offensive scheme.  We simply don't have the players who can consistently "get their own shot". We have no inbounds plays and we seem to not make many, if any, game-time adjustments.  That's on the coaches.
- throughout the year we didn't really develop our bench; it would have been nice to build a little more confidence and given some reps to the future UWSP players; experience is the best teacher.  Other WIAC teams seemed to use their benches better.
- some what puzzling that we didn't clear the bench when the other coach did.  IMO it looked desperate and unprofessional.

Any idea of the chance we may receive an "at large bid"?  I know we have dropped a few games lately but will they take our whole work into consideration?

Anybody have any insight about the UWSP vs UWRF game tonight?  Point played well at times last game, especially like Ritchay's contribution.  Just not sure we have the horses this year to go deep into the tournament; especially with so many freshman who really don't have too much playing experience.

Wow!  What a surprise for UWSP!  Dropping their last two games.  No boards and no adjustments.  I know Ty was injured but ... where is the game plan?  We seem to have no offensive scheme and we really didn't play D well.  Let's hope the playoffs are kinder to us!  Go Point!

Nice research, Prof. Stats!  Thanks.

Why give them a chance at a 3?  Too bad.  Not a good final for Senior's night.

Really disappointing loss.  We let one get away.  We missed a lot of free throws.  I know I brought this up last time but why not foul and not give them a chance to tie/win with a half court shot?  We were only 29% from 3 and out-rebounded 50 to 28.  This seems to be a problem that continually is not addressed.  A lot of you guys have followed Point longer than I have, do you have any insights?  We did not look fresh but looked timid in key situations.  It seemed like no one wanted the ball.  We just have a hard time finishing the game, killer instinct is missing.  We will have to win the title next game at Eau Claire I hope!

Great win tonight for UWSP!  UWO is a pretty good team without a win.  JB had a monster game, TT certainly helped.  We still have no inside game outside JB -- we continue to fail to cultivate any bench presence.  Richards seems to be a bull in a China closet -- can anyone tell me what he brings?  My main concern is with 5.6 seconds left why didn't we foul someone so they could not get a good shot at tying the game or winning it with an "and one".  They had three good looks at the final shot!  Why not foul and give them only two shots and some time off the clock?  Insights welcomed.

Agreed.  We are very guard-oriented this year.  But I like next year (assuming all the freshmen return) because we have a lot of bigs on the bench.  I believe our team will be more balance next year.  A 7 man rotation may hurt us if we go deep into the playoffs.

Is Chris Davis back to 100%?  Great player!
