Anyone making the trip?
Yes I will be making the trip along with my 15 yr old son. My Oldest Son is a Cru football alum and 4 yr. starter. 05-09 also a GA, in 010. Traveled to many Cru games while he was playing. We been knocking on the Stagg Bowl door for some time now. Feel our time is very close and know that will have to go thru Alliance to get there. I feel this #1 vs #2 will be the bigger than the upcoming Stagg. With That said, this is a must go to game for me. Now if we get by MU ?? My oldest Cru football/ Alum Son will be joining us to Salem for sure. Go Cru ! Time to do Work!

you are able to watch the game on your computer.  Go to the Mount football site and click on video at 2PM and watch the game on your lap top or computer.  Espn 3 is for smaller venues or to compliment as 2nd choice to Espn on occasions. It looks like this   12/8/12

umhb2001, wow, no TD, that makes it even more crazy.  Nothing against Hurst, but I doubt he is as good as McSweeney or Harris.  Have to have some sort of an O line to make it happen like that.

Ski, that sucks.  I checked out flights and they are on the expensive side this time.  Jan and I flew 3 years ago to San Antonio for Jason's last game and paid less for 2 tickets than the price of 1 this time.  Pretty sure they have a video feed or at least I hope there is.
Here is the link for the live video feed of the game for anyone that can't make it to Belton Texas. http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/umhb.portal

Thanks for the tips - will definitely get over to Schoeph's, looks like a great place.  Your weather sounds a lot like ours - if you don't like it right now, wait 5 minutes and it'll probably change.  We're coming into Dallas-Ft Worth Friday, will drive down for the game Saturday morning, and going by Cowboy Stadium before heading out Sunday.  Other than that no definite plans.  Had thought about doing San Antonio instead, but DFW was cheaper - guess we'll save that for next time.  Safe travels to all & here's to a great game.
Welcome to Texas all Wesley fans; I live and drive from the DFW area on saturday game days.  Driving time is normally 2 1/2 hours to Belton . Give yourself at least an extra 1/2 hour this coming saturday. Baylor is hosting U Texas , home game in Waco, 2;30 pm kick off. Traveling south bound on I-35 to Belton you pass thru Waco and the Baylor campus. Leaving DFW area before 8:30 am should put you ahead of that traffic and get you in plenty of time before kick off. I second the Czech stop in West, texas but note it is easier access on return north bound side of I-35. I also am a big fan of Schoeps', but also know if your a big Mexican food fan? One of the best in Texas is across from Schoeps'. The Taqueria EL MEXICANO.  Great food , great margaritas and excellent value. All the college football games shown there also. Safe travels and see you at the game.

My understanding is that Saturday's game will be played in Tiger Stadium, the venue of the Belton high school.  But where is that?  The only Tiger Stadium I can find in the area on Google maps appears to be in a  different town.  Does anyone have the address of the stadium?

This and every Cru home game is played at Belton's Tiger Stadium. UMHB has played there since its inception and will continue until our new, on campus field is completed in a couple of years. It's going to be sweet!
Yes I have seen the plans and the model for the new multi million dollar on campus,Cru Stadium  . From what I hear ground has been broken and should be ready for next falls 2012 season. Anyone else hear anything otherwise?

OK...there has been much speculation about the NCAA DIII Playoff Bracket Pairings....here is my idea and I would like your comments to refine it:

Here's an idea:

Take the top 4 teams and put them in 4 different brackets as #1 seeds. Then take the next 8 top teams (according to d3football.com poll...since they know better than any other poll/body) and divide them 2 each per bracket (it doesn't really matter after 4 because everybody after that point is pretty equal)... with those 2 teams in one side of the bracket, so the top team would supposedly play the winner of those 2 if they made it that far....then sprinkle all the other qualifier teams according to region in the 4 brackets....problem solved.
Sounds like a good way to me!

Mississippi College mascot is/are the Choctaws.
Kelly , who does or did your Son play for and what years. My Son played for UMHB 05-09, 4 year starter and a graduate assistant 2010

Cruzader, I think they were the Indians and I believe they dropped the mascot due to the NCAA.
Oh I see.. I guess the NCAA feels like they have to conform and be politically correct. I personally think that most Native Indians would be proud to represent a Major Learning institution/University.  I stand corrected, it is Mississippi College that are the Choctaws. Hope they are not forced to refrain and have to change their mascot name.                                      Yes , I also feel that Bailey at QB for the Cru is a much bigger threat than Mullins at QB for McM.

I think that Mullin is the better QB.

Harris might have more athleticism. (Conversely, does he play baseball as well as Mullin?)

Harris might make more plays, but I think that Mullin makes fewer mistakes that cost games.

Both can carry their respective teams.
Question? When was the name change of  the McM  Choctaws to War Hawks ? Who's decision was that? and why after so many years and tradition of being Choctaws ? Anything to do with moving up to D2 ? just wondering

I think that you are right about he relative gifts of the 2 QB's.

Warren is a good QB and will be a good QB next year.  Mullin is a real talent.

The podcast mentioned other factors in the Trinity game and I encourage all fans to listen.

The McMurry team needs to step up its game, as does every team in the post-season (...not a new fact).

The CRU have been the King.  You gotta beat the best.

And the non-partisan ASC fan wonders whether the ASC has a better chance with McMurry or UMHB versus Linfield or Wesley.  This is a great post-season.
Yes good pod cast for the set up of UMHB vs McM  playoff / rematch.......                                                                                                         Personally I am happy to see a rematch of the 2 power players of the ASC. We would all agree that the CRU had the momentum going for them against the War Hawks before the lightning strikes and the long delayed break in the game.              Momentum shifted and McM came back and just about handed the Cru a rare conferance loss. The Cru had a conferance loss in 09, prior to that  their last conferance  loss  was in 05.                                                                                        The question at that time was.... is the Cru weaker this year and on their way down ?, perhaps not even able to be in this years post season play? or Is this McM team the real deal ?and a fully resurected program under Hal Mumme?                                                                                                               Well I think that both of those questions have been answered.. The Cru is alive and well, undefeated , top seed and ready to make another run at Salem.                         Also Yes for sure McM Warhawks seem to be a legitamate contender and could also represent the ASC respectfully.                                                                                 McM does seem to have a good back up in Warren at QB.  He did a very good job against Trinity. Personally I truly do hope to see that Mullin is ready and able to play giving the War Hawks all the ability to compete at their full potential.                             I also feel that you have to beat the best to be the best!                                              True: Cru has been king of the ASC but their sights are on the top of the mountain. The Mountain that has been ruled by UMU AND UWW. It would be great to see an ASC banner flying high up that Mountain.                                                                                                             Best of luck to all you Warhawks and safe travels

The trip to Texas was well worth it even though we weren't on the winning side of the scoreboard!  Great turnout by the Redlands fans as usual!  Always sad to see the Seniors play their last game, glad they got to experience the playoffs.  Best part of the day........I got to meet Grey Fox in person!  Thank you for the Texas hospitality and hopefully our young players (and coaches) will have grown from this experience and be back in the playoffs next year.   :)

Listened to the Cal Lu/Linfield game on my ride back to the hotel.  WOW, what an exciting game and we DAWGS know how it feels to lose a game at the end via a BLOCKED FIELD GOAL KICK!   >:(

Safe travels to everyone and enjoy your upcoming Holidays..............Guess we'll all meet up again next fall!
Thanks for making the trip to Texas, hope you had an enjoyable weekend and safe travels back to Cali.                                                                                          Yes your Dawg fan representaion was very good. I really didn't expect to see such a good gathering of So Cal fans. And wow! that lady in the stands, lower level mid field. Boy what a set of lungs on her! We sure could here her from clear up on the home side LOL!. Great fan support for sure. Now was she your wife :) ha ha ha.                                                                                                                      Congrats to all the Redlands football family and players on a successful year. You have a good coaching staff led by  Coach Mike Maynard. I am quite sure he will work hard and diligent to be back in the coming years. He most definitely helped in the development of my Son's football play and abilities.                                                  My Son attended Coach Maynards week long,ASC full contact camps  for 4 straight summers there at Redlands U. It was at Coach Maynards camps that gave him the inspiration and confidence to play at the next level.                                                   He was a 4 year starter here at UMHB and enjoyed  4 ASC Championships,2 trips to the semi finals and 2 trips to the quarter finals. Thanks again to coach Maynard and then coach O'boyle . We hope to see you back next season in the playoff brackett.   Go Cru!

Heck of a team you Cru fans have there in Belton. Redlands has a long way to go to even be close to that level. Overall a good measuring stick and learning experience for my Dawgs. Good luck the rest of the way.
Yes thanks RFB, Were you able to be at the game here in Texas? I do think that Coach Maynard and the Redlands Bulldogs will take this experience and benefit from it. He is a good coach with a very good staff. With some good off season preperation and good recruiting they certainly are capable of developing into a team of this Caliber. Safe trip back to So Cal. I miss that Cali sunshine ,but will not be there until  the playoff run of the Cru is over. Will not be visiting my Parents and family there for Thanskgiving. Will be home for Christmas hopefully with some Stagg bowl souvenirs and Bling Bling/harware  :)

I think that is a good analysis. :(

Your :( makes me feel some sarcasm there. Yes or no?
That is the "sad" symbol that somehow is always broken on my machine.  It is the first time I tried it.
I went to a SCIAC school, so I follow the SCIAC closely.  I plan to be at the game.  I'm hoping to see some Redlands posters.  Otherwise I will sit on the home side.
Well I will be looking for you at the game Gray Fox. I also attended a SCIAC school and played for Whittier in the early 80's. I now have a son with the Cru /UMHB. I have met Coach Maynard and seen him coaching in action at Redlands. He will for sure have his Bull dogs prepared and as ready as can possibly be. I wish them the best of luck and hope thay can hang close to the Cru. I personally think the Cru will be too powerful to overcome. Hope to see a close game.  Go Cru!
