Good observation. However, both teams are so evenly matched that special teams have seemed to be the deciding factor for the outcome. And IMHO I think special teams and field position will be what decides the final outcome.
Should be another great one tho.

BW I think Desertraiders's point is valid: Of course every Mt player, coach and fan will be confident they can beat UWW, but there are very few players on that roster that have ever seen it happen (2008- in a game uww was making a ferocious comeback in).  It takes the special players that have more than just talent to break through - IMO Mt will roll again when they get real leadership from some key positions.
No doubt special teams are important - but Mt hasn't been better than UWW at special teams in any game I've seen them play.

I think that LK has been working diligently to put the pieces in place so the outcome is difference this year.   This is MU year.

Coach Larry told me on our visit that the kicking game hasn't helped in the last two stagg bowls. He said the punting game wasn't able to flip the field and bury them deep very often. He thinks special teams can make a big difference this year.

What will be the one thing that puts Mount Union back on top of the Stagg Bowl this year?
