This strikes me as a weird move --- I had assumed Tiknis would be in line to replace Steve Schweer as their full-time assistant.  I also would assume that NCC would pay better then Adrian.  Is there another side to this story?

I imagine it has something to do with travel expenses, as well as, perhaps mimicking a typical NCAA tournament weekend.   As it is stands, the #1 seed will host the two semi-final games and the championship game on Friday / Saturday.

Yeah, I'd forgotten about that. With NPU up by only four at 64-60 and with a little over three minutes remaining, Beaty penetrated, drawing help defender Matt Szuba off of Henry, and then shoveled a perfect little pass underneath to Henry, who rose up from the right baseline to flush one down. Combined with the missed dunk it was a six-point swing that took what should've been a 64-62 North Park lead out to a 68-60 North Park lead instead, giving the Vikings the breathing space that they'd need when they started faltering in the game's final two minutes.

Having been on the receiving end of one of those in the past ... I can attest that Terry Murphy is quite liberal in his distribution of the technical foul.

This is more a matter of curiosity --- 273 as the school career assist record seems really low.  I compiled the school record holder at each of the conference schools.

Not missing by much; free throws were 4-6, 4-7 when Millikin played Webster the other night.

2 Thoughts ---

1) The North Park v Chicago game featured two teams combining for 59 three-pointers taken (UC - 29, NP - 30) ... Chicago only attempted 18 non 3's and NP 19. Generally speaking my hunch is that is relatively few shots in the area where fouls tend to be called.

2) In the Millikin v Webster game ... both teams played a substantial amount of zone -- 35% of MU's defensive possessions were zone, while 43% of Webster's were zone. Again --- generally speaking --- teams tend to settle for perimeter jumpers when attacking a zone which tends to lead to fewer foul calls.

If I remember correctly --- that was the first game that Greenville switched to the system. IWU didn't know they would be playing that style until the JV game immediately preceding the varsity game.
