I havent viewed this site for quite a while because it was clear that my opinion wasn't welcome.I was floored to see that we are still being mentioned in these discussions and don't understand why we are still a topic of discussion. To clarify, I am last years GCQB father and I couldn't be more proud of Zac. He handled this year much better than I did. I was not angry because he was beat out by another good QB. I was angry that Barnette and Rusiewics treated him like garbage on a daily basis and purposely ran him off the team because he didn't fit into their plans. Barnette cussed at him and tried to humiliate him at every turn. He is a great kid and we are all happy to be done with Guilford College football. This has been a tough year all the way around.

Last friday my youngest son and Zac Halbert's 13 year old brother collapsed and died in the cafeteria of his middle school. He was dead for 10-15 minutes but a school employee used a defibrulator to get his heart beating. He was air lifted to Levine Childrens Hospital in Charlotte and died again during the flight. He was revived again and spent four days in a coma. I am writing this from his hospital room. We, as a family, are involved in the most serious fight of our lives and Zac does not need to see his name on this board ever again. My name is Buddy Hqalbert and I am the proud father of Zac Halbert. Please leave us out of the discussions on this board.

I have kept up with the Guilford team as we have many kids who are close family friends still playing. Zac and I both think that Matt Palowski is having a great year and has a bright future ahead of him. As a former Guilford player I wish nothing but the best for the kids at Guilford College. We would appreciate your prayers for my son Tanner Halbert and again would ask that we not be pulled into the discussions as we have severed all ties with Guilford College football.

Guilford's defense also played hard but they are never in a position to make stops.  Rusiewicz has not been able to stop any offense he has faced. His defensive schemes don't match up against the offensive styles he faces. There is no gap control on his fronts and the linebackers aren't playing proper assignments. That is why the pitch man was never covered and the inside dive was so successful. The strong passing teams will exploit the weaknesses in the coverage schemes that the Guilford coaching staff will use. Time will tell.

The guilford kids always play hard. Barnette's football knowledge is limited to the plays he learned as a player and those plays are ineffective.

Hasano, he got coach of the year for starting a Christmas charity . Great, you hired Santa Claus. Were the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy not available.

Unfortuanately for the Guilford players, they won't be able to play themselves out of the coaching mistakes for many more weeks. There is a reason that NASA doesn't send pig farmers to the moon. Because a pig farmer won't know how he got there and he damn sure won't know how to get back.

Guilford kids played great. Matt had a very good game.

I humbly apologize. I just didn't realize that I was posting on the D3 FEELINGSmessage boards.

Will someone out there tell me where I can get a job that gives me 4 or 5 years to prove I can't do it. Sounds like a good gig.

I have a feeling that going to Guilford didn't make you an expert on anything. As I said before , time will tell.

HSC Tiger fan. Your right, you don't know whats going on at Guilford. When Guilford comes to Hampden Sydney I would like you to go to the game and watch every minute of it. If your son doesn't start I'm sure he will see plenty of time in the second half because of the lead they will have over Guilford. Then comment on this board about how much faith a parent should have in a coach's ability.
Football fan: Sometimes a coach's desire (or want) to win and his ability to win are so far apart that they will never ever meet.

I am a Guilford Alum that supports the school and have every right to call out bad decisions that affect the students there.

The only thing Zac Halbert, last years starting Guilford QB, did in the off-season was put on 20 lbs. of muscle, increase his speed and endurance by running daily, organize his receivers for throwing sessions, learn the playbook better, gave up a lucrative summer job to train in Florida with his senior receiver and players from (Miami,Ga.Tech, Central and South Florida), go into debt to attend Guilford and make the Spring honor roll at the school. Would be a good pick-up for any D3 school looking for an experienced QB to transfer in.

I have never been in the military and I agree that quitting should be the last option. I have owned several successful businesses for about 25 years and I hold fast to a simple concept. If you prove to be dishonest or incompetent, I cut all ties to you immediately. I never do business with someone who is not qualified to perform the tasks necessary to make my business successful. This rule can be applied to many aspects of life and I am seeing it applied by college football players this year. To all of you who have served in the military, I sincerely thank you for making it possible for me to raise a family in a free and safe country.

I knew he was thinking about it. I guess he made it official. As a Guilford football alum and a father, I think those coaches at Guilford should be ashamed of themselves for literally running a solid young man off of his own football team. This board may not like me saying that but I know the details of how he was treated and it is nothing less than shameful.

Quakermom, I feel for you more than you know. On another note, just heard that last years starting quarterback at Guilford is  probably leaving the team with 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Dear Quakermom,
I have been a coach and have had some of my own kids play. Alot of fresman struggle in that first year. Being a college football player is tough and the schedule alone can wear you down. I would encourage him to stick it out through his first season. Hopefully he'll feel better about it as the year goes on.
