FWIW I found that blog you were talking about.

That is the CLU coach's blog. Great recruiting tool. Coach was complaining about drunken tailgaters and a lousy setting at Whittier. When we went to CIF playoffs there a couple of years ago, the stadium was even worse. It IS a lousy setting. I would avoid that stadium at all costs. And for a homecoming- embarrassing. . . . I dont think there was a single person there who was not in the "parade"

And then coach made some light hearted comments about La Verne. Says he knows the coach.

Sounds like you guys just don't like Coach MacEnroe. The only person here that I know of that ever took classes at La Verne was me and I am not offended at all.  So- dont worry about protecting my delicate feelings, Perhaps a little envy and a little bitterness about getting thumped/spanked  four years in a row is behind your rancor. A few shots of Russian Standard vodka can help you overcome these feelings. I would be happy to help

I want to see nobody with purple in their uniforms in the first round. Pat, while  CLUs  defense is struggling this year Whittier has some weapons.Mr. Fooks can play and their freshman qb throws a decent ball .

Rivera was Trib Player of the Year last year. CLU wanted him as a safety. Whittier guaranteed him to play QB.

The polls are out and -- yawn! -- Cal utheran is eighth again. Doesn't matter who loses ahead of us, the voters will find somebody to jump. Yeah, I know North Central pounded Illinois, 52-0, but Wesleyan was forced to use a freshman who had thrown exactly one collegiate pass. The results were predictable: 40-16-3 for 130 yards with one INT returned fpr a score and five sacks. I know North Central's a fine team; it's my belief that if we'd have beaten Linfield, 33-30, instead of the other way around, we MIGHT be seventh this week. Also, Illinois Wesleyan is 1-9 in the past decade; they were beaten before they took the field.

Also, don't know what Ben McEnroe's going to do at QB with Ramay is back, but the numbers say Shultis: 119-84-0, .706, 1,195 yds, 5 TDs to 129-78-6, .605, 901 yds, 8 TDs. Two-QB systems almost never work.

When I looked at this for my ballot, I was far more interested in the 38 points that Whittier scored than the IWU-North Central passing numbers.

Yeah that was a lot of points to give up. If it had been like last year with a goose egg instead of 38 points for Whittier. CALU probably would have moved up- to 7. It is pretty rarified air up near the top,

#3 may be coming back this week. . . . #7 has done a helluva job in relief. Those two senior QBs have done  tremendous jobs this year

.. . . . . until then, one game at a time.
Please...Whittier, La Verne, Chapman.  Come on now.

Don't be too rough on wildozer. After all, he provides us with side-splitting anecdotes, like the time his son came into the game and was going to (presumably) throw a touchdown pass but instead he botched the audible and threw the ball to no one in sight. C'mon, that is knee-slapping, laugh out loud hilarity! I'll bet wildozer's son just loved reading about that game highlight.

Fortunately for me I have a kid who is really honest with himself, can take a good joke- and probably cant find his way here yet.  ;D

It does for us anyway. I have a feeling Mt. Union feels a little differently

The Road "TO" Salem...I know you haven't made it past the first round, but you might want to read up on how the playoffs are structured  :o

To be honest- I dont really care how they are structured. When the structure becomes relevant to our team- like maybe later this year, then I will have a look.. . . .

Yes, because ignorance for the sake of ignorance is generally thought highly of...
whatever, chump. . . .

One game at a time.
If the Kingsmen give 110%, come to play, bring their "A" game, and play within themselves, then they will be able to take it to the next level. Still, CLU must step it up, turn it up a notch, and stay focused, so they can show that they just want it more. So far this season CLU has made a statement and sent a message that they know how to win. Whittier is a must-win game because CLU controls its own destiny, and if the Kingsmen execute, demonstrate great athleticism, make game-saving tackles, and overcome adversity, then they won't beat themselves. After all, the final score is the only statistic that matters.
That about sums up every post on ADvantage Catdome.

There's no quit in this year's Linfield team. The road to Salem (VA) goes through McMinnville.

Maybe whittier will resurrect Air Coryal. or the over the hill gang. Didnt both George Allen and Don Coryal coach there?

The first dunk was by our star receiver who screwed up the dunk on  a TD that was called back on a holding penalty. With the unsportsmanlike conduct it was suddenly 2nd & 41. The penalties were a bit extreme-and unusual. I believe that Coach is pretty upset.  9 minutes into the 3rd was mass substitution time. The kid got over a quarter of play in from the third quarter to the fourth. The last 5 minutes of the game was watching the bleachers emptying out.

Got a funny story- they were going to let the kid pass, figuring he would get a TD based on the look that the defense gave and the adjustment that he would make. He saw the look, got excited and called the wrong audible. So the pass fell INC with nobody within 10 yards. So he has his first college blown play!!!!!!

FtP, my son is 21 yrs old and has played football since he was 9.Until he came to CLU he played on 1 team with a winning record (6-4),so this is all new to both us. Winning is alot more enjoyable than the other.I do think a little swagger comes with the success Clu has had in the last few years(until we play linfield :'() but never over confident. The d-3 experience has been an awesome ride ,one that I am really sad to see come to an end this year, but count me as a huge fan of all these young men and the teams they play for.

Yep- There is that swagger of being a member of a winning team. Of Course, us dad types get to vicariously swaqger through the efforts of our children. The desire to play at the next level and continue playing for four more years is something that cant be measured.

I would agree that heart is not a problem ,but the fan support is pathetic.

I know its not like high school where you have a huge local base but it is embarrassing that not even their student body shows up. There couldn't have been more than a few dozen Stag supporters there. They dont even charge to be there so what is the excuse?  I see a couple thousand showed up at Chapman/Oxy. That is respectable. Around the corner from CMS Whittier/Pomona only drew 750. Wow.

I was surprised to see so few stags out there.

Claremont has 45 players on its roster, fewest in the SCIAC.

We were invited to their camp a year ago. Of all the camps my son attended, theirs was the most cerebral, with some known academic experts lecturing. Football was clearly second.
