Good to see some of the ol' gang on here again. What's up Skoal, Kid, et al. Is anyone going to St. Vincent's tomorrow. I will be there along with the wife and daughter. Good luck Eagles!

Does anyone know anything about University of Maryland's 2nd string QB named Jamar Robinson? I have a friend who is in the Terp club and he keeps telling me this guy is listed on their roster as from Bridgewater College. I never heard of him, so I don't think he played on BC's football team. Any insider info from Llamadude, Snakehandler or the other BC faithful.
Speaking of BC faithful, are there any plans for the Station this weekend? I was on campus this past Saturday to drop off my baby girl (boo hoo), she is a Eagle freshman this year, and I noticed they cut off about half of our tree! Can they do that without the express written consent of Stone Station?
We will be there Saturday. Let the games begin.

Could the guy in the Terp Club be confusing Robinson with Anthony Green?
Yep, I'll bet you are correct. I think Green is the 3rd string QB, Wayne probably confused the two. I will check with him as soon as I see him. Thanks.
In any case, it seems strange to me that a guy who was redshirted as a Freshman at Div III BC could make the team at D1 UMud. And since he was redshirted a year at MD also, he still has a few years of eligibility left, so he could eventually become their starter. I sure do wish we could have kept him.

Region 3 football (South Atlantic-ish) / Nice Article about Pierre Garcon at the NFL Combine
February 29, 2008, 11:42:55 PM
I received an email from nfl.com about the small school prospects at the NFL combine. It included a piece about Garcon from Mount Union. Assuming I know how to do this correctly, here is the link:
Pat, if this breaks any rules, I apologize. I just thought everyone would be interested in a D3 guy with a shot of being drafted.
Modified for formatting. Thanks for the link -- Ralph Turner

I don't know about all birds, but I'm pretty sure Eagles, and perhaps Cardinals, do!
Do birds fart?
Not sure about flatulence but I can say that I know from first hand experience that buzzards barf!! Almost got nailed deerhunting one morning before sunrise. Leave it to me to pick the one tree in a thousand with a bunch of buzzards roosting in it![]()
Also, Owls puke, but they don't poop. That was a cute little song one of the teachers at the outdoor school taught the students when I was a chapperone. See why these kids are so smart. They never taught me that kinda good stuff.
And we know Eagles fart, especially after Stone Station chili.

It was rumored he was being looked at by Richmond this past week. Also not true.
While we are at it, it was rumored Mike Clark may be the newest mystery coach yet to be interviewed by the Washington Redskins as well!![]()
C'mon Llama, give Coach some credit. After all, who would you rather work for, Dan Snyder or Phillip Stone?
Why would Coach Clark accept a demotion?

Region 3 football (South Atlantic-ish) / Shenandoah Considering Field Turf
January 17, 2008, 12:00:05 PM
Just say "NO" to the fake stuff. It is definitely better than the old astroturf crap, but Shentel is a beautiful stadium with real grass.
It sounds like the people who want the fake stuff want it so other sports can play on the same field. The new turf is much more durable than grass.
Call me a traditionalist, but there is nothing better than a beautiful football stadium with natural grass.
Either way, Bridgewater will beat Shenandoah every year no matter the surface, location, weather, etc.
Oops. Sorry. I couldn't resist.

Congratulations to Llamaguy, Skoaltrain, and the rest of the Stone Station crew. Sorry I missed the show this year, but my Dad had the nerve to have heart by-pass surgery that week. How inconsiderate of him! Remember, he made me miss the Randolph-Macon game with his 80th birthday party. If the old fart makes it to 90, I'm gonna have his party at Stone Station!

Great recognition for a great bunch of guys and girls who treat us to the best tailgate every week! That's right, THE BEST. BRING ON NEBRASKA, you Cornshuckers!

Llama - check personal message...I need directions to join you guys Saturday.....hmmmm....maybe you're ignoring the pm ??![]()

Is Puke-Owner gonna be there Sat?
No, I can't make it Saturday. My Dad's 80th birthday party starts at noon that day. But I can Fed Ex my cheesehead to Llamaguy if you would like. OR BETTER YET, Llama's son has a #49 Packer jersey with "TAYLOR" on the back. Maybe Lil Llama would wear it for you in my absence.
Hope our Eagles provide you with a good game. From what Coach Clark said in his blog, we may finally see the offense I expected to see all season.
Drive safely, I want you to be alive to see the Pack whoop your Viqueens again this year.
Hugs and kisses,

I am kinda sorry about my rant IRT offcials.
But it was a relief valve. They make me so damn mad.
Well anyway fellow posters I am off for train up at Camp Lejuene NC for follow on service to IRAQ. I will be out of the net until about the end of NOV. Then I will give the skinny on D10 Iraqi football leagues. No one has explained the use of a frag as a ball to play with but they will learn.
It will hurt this former Ranger to have to live with Marines but hey...it's the only war we got.
If I am not bumped off too quick I will give you the low down. Keep the faith.
ABNRGR
ABNRGR,
I hope you see this post before you leave for duty.
Thanks for serving our country to help us preserve the quality of life most of us take for granted. When times get tough, remember that Division III football awaits you when you return safely.
May God Bless You and God Bless America.

Pak,
I'll actually be back in town Wednesday for fall break, so I don't think it would be a problem to stop by Stone Station. Not really any place to eat in Emory, except for The Deli. It's school owned and right next door to the bookstore, but it's pretty good. There are a couple of good places in Abingdon like Alison's (best baked potato soup ever), The Hardware and The Pepper Mill. Other than that, exit 7 down in Bristol has all the standard fare like Ruby Tuesday's, Logan's, Outback, etc. So if your daughter picks E&H, does this mean you'll be sporting the blue & gold from here on out?Any idea on what she wants to major in? I can probably give some decent feedback.
1. Thanks for the advise on vittles
2. Lauren is leaning towards secondary education, but is still not sure. She is only a Junior.
3. If she messes up and chooses an opponent of Bridgewater, I will probably do the same as I did when both kids attended an opponent of my High School Alma Mater; go to the kids' schools games and hope they win, except when they play MY team, then root for MY school in that game.
4. And most importantly, to ascertain that my child learns all about good sportsmanship, I will throw it up in her face when Bridgewater beats her college team.

Hasanova and Trenches,
I was nice to see you again, 'Nova, and nice to meet you Trenches. For a Viqueens fan, you are alright.
Hope your Quakers bounce back, and take it to Washington and Lee next week. Please put a big dent in the doors of their Daddies' Bimmers, so they are not emotionally recovered in time to play BC the following week.
Seriously, good luck, and hang in there.
can you handle meeting 2 viqueens fans in 1 year? I'm considering a trip to Stone Station on Nov 3.
CNWhoooooo,
Yep, I could handle it. Except that on Nov 3 my family is having an 80th birthday party for my Dad. I am going to miss the BC-RMC game which could end up being a VERY important game for all the ODAC teams.
I would love to be there, especially if you bring the Eagles as much luck as Trenches did. Sorry Trenches, I couldn't resist.
CHWhooooo, maybe we can make it another time. Are you planning on going to the Stagg Bowl? Hopefully we won't have two purple teams again. Why God made such an ugly color, I will never understand.

What is the problem with my Wasps and the red zone today? I'm about to have a heart attack. Doesn't help when your own radio commentators seem to be pulling for Macon...
Btw, does Stone Station have that barbequed crow ready for me after what I said about an anemic Bridgewater offense?
Thank God, Emory scored as I'm writing this. 17-14 Waspers. Congrats to freshman Darren Richardson on his first career TD.
EHC52,
Llamaguy and company will not serve up your crow until after the game next Saturday. Like Paul Masson "we will serve no crow before its time."

But I do hope that your description of the Eagles' enemic offense will fire up Misters Highfill, Carter, Copeland, and Olinemom's boys for next week's game. They looked like their iron count and red blood cells were getting a little better when I saw them yesterday.

I am planning on coming down to E & H on Friday so my daughter can take a look at your campus. I hope to meet you before the game on Saturday. It should be a good one. Any good places to eat?
Oh, and I can't resist this one. I am a CPA, honest. In fact, I am at work right now and I should be doing tax returns instead of reading these posts. Believe it or not, tomorrow is the final due date for tax returns that have been extended. Always the same people! Anyway, I will be sure to bring my calculator with me. Its only 12 digits, so I hope the attendance is not over 999,999,999,999. Just kidding, I couldn't help myself!
