I must admit that I had some serious doubts in the fourth quarter with Oshkosh down 15.  However, this game really defined what the program at Oshkosh has become.  The evolution of the scheme, coaching, and player mentality over the past few years came to head in the fourth quarter at the Catdome.  The first three quarters were an afterthought and a clean slate was created to make that comeback.  Oshkosh was highly opportunistic and seemed much more composed than the Cats.  At times Linfield appeared to be on their heels, which surprised me given their experience in the playoffs and the confidence they should have acquired throughout the first three quarters.  It does help having the best QB in the nation on your team, there is no doubt, but this was a true team win and I couldn't be more excited to head up to St. Thomas next weekend to see the guys play for a birth in the Stagg Bowl!  Congrats to both teams on a hard fought game!

Moving forward, how do you guys think Oshkosh matches up with St. Thomas?

Completely irrelevant, why is it called the Catdome???

Nothing wrong with a little biased thinking!  Honestly, that is what I believe.  Oshkosh takes care of business and advances!  Hail Titans!

I have been watching this board over the past week and it seems like many believe Oshkosh is coming in as the underdog.  Personally, I don't know a lot about Linfield, other than their field is called the "Catdome", so I went looking for some numbers to compare.  In my opinion (and I know games are not played on paper!), Oshkosh will fare just fine against Linfield this weekend and will make it to the Final Four.

Notable National ranks:
Rush offense (rainy forecast): Osh 14th, Lin140th
Total offense: Osh 9th, Lin 32nd
Scoring offense: Osh 11th, Lin 7th
Total defense: Osh 25th, Lin 29th
TO margin (wet conditions with a team that loves to sling it around): Osh 11th, Lin 45th
Sacks: Osh 23rd, Lin 1st
Sacks allowed: Osh 68th, Lin 116th

Obviously there are other categories not listed, but I think these listed (especially rush offense and TO margin) are most crucial to Oshkosh coming out with a win.  My official prediction: Oshkosh 28- Linfield 14 (please feel free to respond!)

I think we can all agree that it is a travishamockery that the WIAC gets discredited for consistently having 2-3 teams that could win 1+ playoff games each year.  As a big Titan fan, I am very anxious and excited about the next few weeks as UWO enters the playoffs for the first time.  In relation to UWSP in 2008, the the 2012 Titans have been somewhat dominant throughout the season and have made a statement that they have been preparing to make for a few years now.  I can't predict the future, but I can say that the culture has changed at UWO.  It is no longer, "hey, we can compete with these guys."  It is now, "we are a good team, there is no reason we should not be a national contender."  My hope is that this (hopefully) undefeated regular season and (hopefully) deep run into the playoffs will catapult Oshkosh into a place where top tier athletes want to come to.  UWW has been dominant on this front the past decade, maybe it's time for some competition come off-season.

So, lets assume the season is over and a the 2012 Stagg Bowl Champion is crowned.   What happens to the WIAC next year.   How do you think the top 4 or 5 will rank out in 2013.   At least for me, preseason, pre-recruiting, based solely on who is coming back.  it is this way.

UWP
UWW
UWO
UWL - if everyone gets healthy
UWSP
UWE
UWRF
UWS

I am sorry, but after reading these boards for a long time, including this preseason, I am very confused why UWO would not be expected to be a favorite for the 2013 WIAC championship.  They return the bulk of their skill players and, although they lose Wara (who is one of the top players in all of D3), they will still be very talented.  This offense is downright potent and they do have veteran QB's who will be ready next year to take the torch.  I just do not see UWO being a one-hit wonder like many claim them to be.  Yes, their defense will need some players to step up, that is a fact, but strong programs begin to develop depth, much like UWW has done the past decade.  In my opinion, UWO is becoming a strong program and I have seen it develop over the last 2-3 years.  This program is not built to last for one year and one hope at a championship.  This is a true program that will be a competitor for years into the future.  In the past, many have stated that no one can put a team above UWW because they are the reigning WIAC champions.  Well, they no longer are and I would expect some of the same words to be spoken next preseason about UWO as they will be the reigning WIAC champs and potentially national champions.  Just a thought from me!

Didn't mean to offend but the defense has been one of the main reasons for the fast start for UWO...both Ds are very solid and I really can't see either team putting up 21+.  I plan on coming down from the job to attend this one for sure...wouldn't miss this matchup, especially after last year's close game.

New to this guys, pardon me, but with all this anxiety over Saturday at WW...I have to ask, what are your predictions...what is going to be the difference maker come Saturday? I personally think the UWO defense will make or break them and with what I have seen, it will make them..... Two days away!!!!
