A great defense and a very good running game. Passing offense is a work in progress. No one can run on there D and the ball has to come out quick if you throw the ball.

I feel horrible for the kids. This Brockport team really had a good chance of making the final 4. I was so looking forward to sat night. Oh well sunyac champs- sunyac tourney champs- 19 wins in a row to finish the season!! What a great season! Congrats Brockport

So will Tufts be allowed to play in the sweet 16 this weekend? If not then what?

It should help Brockport preparing for Tufts will be like preparing for Middlebury in many ways. On the other hand I don't think Tufts has played many if any teams with Brockports athleticism. Middlebury did beat Tufts by double digits this year at Middlebury. Brockport has been destroying teams on the boards and should continue on Sat. Tufts will launch a lot of 3 balls but I love Brockports chances. I have Brockport opening at a 4.5 PT favorite. Congrats Brockport on what has already been a great ride. Love watching this team!!

Brockport hosts sweet 16 game sat 4 pm !! What a great week ahead for the players and coaches. Winning 19 in a row. Well deserved !

What a great game at Brockport tonight. Props to CG they would not go away. Standing room only at Brockport tonight with over 2000 people. Looking at a bunch of box scores from Fri on no other game was even close to that. Both teams were getting up and down the court and getting after it. Crowd will be just as big tonight if not bigger!! Let's go Port !!!

Of course it would be nice to cut down the nets tonight for Brockport. I really don't think a loss hurts in any way though. After winning 16 in a row and winning the sunyac and being 7-1 against regional ranked teams. I'm pretty sure they are a lock to host a pod first round. After that I have no idea. With that said no one wants someone else cutting down the nets in its own gym. 79-71 Port

Thank you Bart!! Apparently massey doesn't give Bport much of a chance. At this point they are playing with house money as far as I am concerned. A good D always travels so I guess we will see.

Way to quiet on this page. Props to Brockport for winning a first rd NCAA game for a 3rd straight year. After losing 22 seniors, a Jr AA QB, a Sph AA wr it was considered a rebuild year. This team starts only 4 seniors and is made up of almost all fr,soph !!  Props on another NCAA win and let's go get another in Allentown this week!!

Why does everyone keep saying 'first 2 games'? Union has a legit shot to win this bracket. I think Salisbury is probably the toughest out. What is so impressive about Muhlenburg other than their ranking? It looks like they are very good, but not next tier good. I don't get it.

I agree with you Mach, I fully expect BPort to beat the Mules in round 2.  Will set up a great match up for either Union or Salisbury in the Quarters
I think Brockport could win 2 games if June comes back? No way with Hellwig are they making a run. His arm is completely shot!!

So who is the parent of a Ithaca player who verbally attacked Frank Rossi after the game on sat? Guy should not be allowed back on campus.

Props to Brockport today after coming back from a 23-0 deficit for the W at Cortland. Cortland couldn't knock out the champ and it bit them. The Brockport D that was put in many bad situations in the 1st half was out of this world in the 2nd half. Over 3 years and counting since the last e8 loss for Brockport ! Pretty impressive. With the Alfred loss today that put Brockport in complete control of the e8. This team is very young and will only get better next year. Great game to watch with lots of drama and great plays
Great road W port !

Good to see Hellwig back out there after the Hobart game / injury. BP really does seem firing on all cylinders. Cortland may still be an underdog to the defending champs. Will see...

Brockport's lone points allowed in the last three weeks came after Alfred State recovered a fumbled punt at the 3, and it still took them four plays to score. Unreal. Just an elite defense.

That said, I'd like to see Brockport's offense show up against a team with a competent defense. Maybe getting Hellwig back is going to elevate the offense, but you've got to do more than light up Hartwick to convince me.

Cortland's defense was lousy last week, and they were lucky to get out of there with a win, but I'm still making them slight favorites at home in that matchup.
Hellwig only played this week because Freddie June was sick.

It will be interesting to see who takes the field for Brockport after the bye week.  Obviously hard to determine just how effective Hellwig was given that the opponent was Hartwick, but he was much more effective/consistent as a drop back passer than June was in the prior weeks.  Luckily Brockport has a week to get it sorted out before the showdown with Cortland.  Would hate for the incredible defense to be wasted by playing QB musical chairs.
June is the QB going forward. No drama what so ever. Unless he gets hurt Hellwig will not play.
