Hopefully the NCAA is able to strip the SCIAC of its pool A bid for the 2015 season...woof

Rough day for the old SCIAC.  Ouch.

I thought it went pretty smoothly.....#GoKingsmen

Hi Guys. I haven't posted much over the last year. Just been busy with work and family. I just wanted to stop in to show my support for Coach McEnroe. We went to Cal Lu together, graduating in '93, and he has always been a faithful and respectful guy. He is spoken of with such vitriol in this thread that I can't help but think that there's a little envy. I'll take a coach who is a great father and husband, loyal to his school, and goes 41-6 in his last 47 SCIAC conference games any day. I'm not sure what SCIAC program or coach can hold a candle to that in the last ten years.

Again...not trying to start an argument. I enjoy reading the banter in this thread. I learn some stuff about some of the other conference teams at times as well.

Take care,

Oxy RB Kwame Do has 251 yards rushing so far and he had a 61-yard run called back due to a holding penalty. Dios Mio......

28 SCIAC victories in a row for the KINGSMEN. We're the champs until someone beats us. It was great to get in the win column. It's going to be a good one next Saturday night at Rolland Stadium.

CLU had a giant on their O-Line.......something like 6" 8" and weighed about 475 lbs. #78   :o

That's Andrew Gessler and he weighs around 330 lbs.

CalLuforLife,

Why does CLU's new stadium need more temp bleachers? For opponents, or to provide more seats for the Kingsmen's ballooning numbers of supporters? UR's stands were, in days past, mostly required for  local high schools' large crowds.

My guess would be for visiting fans mostly. We had PLU fans sitting on the home side due to the construction and that's not real kosher. I will say that I attended the CLU/Linfield game on Saturday and it's whole different vibe there. A ton more fans in attendance and you could just feel the energy throughout the campus. I wish Cal Lu games were more like that.

The most exciting development in Cal Lu football this week... extending the visitor bleachers to be full length of the field.  Nice little upgrade.

They're temporary bleachers. We're not able to install permanent-type stands due to parking limitations.

We're flying up to Portland in the morning. We're excited about the game but after last week, our expectations are pretty low. If we're actually within striking distance in the 2nd half, I'd accept it. Good luck to the Cats and GO KINGSMEN!!

You're selling CLU way short.  I think they have plenty of talent to compete with Linfield and I think it's going to be another slug fest like the previous two games.  I'll be surprised if one team rolls the other.

For some fans, being pessimistic helps alleviate the stress after a close loss, many know that the game may wound up being close, but in the favor of Linfield. So, assuming the worst only makes it easier to vent later.

Ha. Good read. This game went exactly how I thought it would and how i told anyone that would listen. The official Linfield "preview" of this game was polite but laughable. I've never seen the talent gap so wide in the last 5 years.

I agree that, on average, SCIAC teams aren't nearly committed as Linfield but I've been to the "Catdome" several times and the Cal Lu athletic facilities blow them away.

Any facility that has soccer lines on the field is automatically disqualified in blowing anyone out of the water.

LOL....you got us on that one. I'll retort with the fact that I attended a game at Linfield when I was 11 (1982), returned 27 years later (2009), and the stadium/facilities appeared to be exactly the same except worn down with 27 years of wear & tear. Not to mention its not a dome (wink).

I am looking forward to returning this Saturday. You guys have a beautiful campus and I'm bringing my 17-year old daughter up for a campus tour. I can't imagine what I'd do if she attended Linfield.

I guess Linfield does it bigger in Texas. 'Cats ate up the HSU rush game today and we have a number of options on offense.  CLU will be a might big challenge next week in the 'Catdome but we have some firepower on each side of the ball.

Pretty sure we won't be a mighty big challenge.

[/Quote] Cat, If you measure how committed LF is to football against any of the SCIAC teams it is not close. I agree more to it than just one game, plus don't you guys play some JV games, how many full time coaches ? , and facilities? I would say LF is more committed than any SCIAC school. Closest we have is CLU, then UR.

Eric Rogers (CLU '13) was released today during the first round of cuts at the Dallas Cowboys facility. Pretty bummed. We're really proud of Eric and he represented Cal Lu and D-III well. I hope he gets another chance with a different team but if not,  he has said he wants to be a police officer. I wish him all the luck in the world.

2 of our 4 home games this year are night games (7:00). The 2 day games are PLU (needs to be a day game so the Lutes can fly home on the same day) and our homecoming game (too many campus events going on before and after the game).
