Go Pirates.

And I do not understand the concern over the rankings. We are in the middle of a tournament and the final rankings will be decided by the teams playing.

Whitworth won their conference, won their tournament and have advanced to the sweet 16. That is domething to be proud of. But then we are use to getting no respect in Spokane.

Did not really see the first two technicals. I could not see the bench from where I was sitting and I was not watching the shot clock. Here is what I remember about the last technical. The last technical occurred after one of our players (I think is was Larkin) ended up flat on his back at the end of the play.  When he got up Davis walked straight into him and bumped him hard.  He tried to make it look like an accident, like he wasn't watching where he was walking. The crowd roared and then he walked into the Whitworth player again.  The technical was the called. It appeared to me the refs didn't want to make the call but had to.

Does anyone know why Wade Gebbers did not play in the second half?
His wife went into labor. Had a healthy baby girl this morning.

Thanks. That is good news.  So glad he wasn't hurt.

Sure proud of the Whitworth Pirate Women last night.  Never seen they play such a good game.

The sad part is if he had just kept quiet we would have probably seen a few more comments on the situation and certainly more sympathetic

I know that my initial reaction to the suspensions was shock.  I came to this board to see if I could make some sense of it.  I knew there must be more than was reported in the paper for the coach/ asst. athletic director and 14 players to be suspended.  A coach is not suspended from one incident from one player.  Were there other violations on previous trips? Apparently the players were quite afraid of getting caught.  And to put this is perspective, it was the school that issued the suspensions after interviewing the students and deliberation.  So I am not sure why Mr Pannell has taken out his anger on the posters of this board.

The first clue should have come from his inability to accept that any of the technicals called at the game were justified.  It must be Ok for a coach and/or player to say anything as long as the ref doesn't hear and apparently the refs are supposed to wear ear plugs.  And there was lots of yelling by the coach as he left the court.

I have seen lots of poorly refed games and many missed calls.  But I have never seen 4 technicals in one game.  Especially at a division 3 game.  Just saying, not judging.

There were four technical fouls against the Hamline team in the game against Whitworth that day.  The coach was ejected.  anger problems?
