Here's an article from today's Pantagraph concerning Keelan getting a look from the Milwaukee Bucks. it's a long shot but I think it's always interesting when a D3 player gets a chance. Good Luck, Keelan.

BLOOMINGTON -- Former Illinois Wesleyan standout Keelan Amelianovich will participate in a workout at the practice facility of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.

"I don't know too much about it right now. From what the guy told me it will be me and another player," Amelianovich said Friday. "I'm sure there will be some conditioning and a ton of drills. It will be a new experience."

The 6-foot-6 Amelianovich was a three-time all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin performer at IWU. He averaged 18.6 points and 4.4 rebounds during his senior season as the Titans finished third nationally in Division III.

"One of the kids I played with in high school, his dad is friends with one of the (Milwaukee) assistant coaches. And my girlfriend's uncle is a golf pro up there. He knows some of the management through golf," Amelianovich said. "It came about that way."

Amelianovich plans to participate in a pro exposure camp this summer and is hoping to secure a contract with a European team.

Congratulations to Ron Rose on being named as IWU basketball coach today. While my personal first choice would have John Baines, I have no problem with Rose getting the job. Being an ex IWU player and being in the area for a long time, he knows the IWU program, the expectations and what it takes to be successful at the D3 level. And I believe he will be the IWU head coach for a long time. He is a very high quality person and will relate well to D3 athletes, the IWU students and IWU fans. Welcome back, Ron, and best wishes in your new position, see you in Salem soon.

As a Titan fan, I would like to congratualte the Marlins on a great win last night and on keeping their impressive win steak alive. It was a super D3 basketball game between two excellent teams and VWC made the plays down the stretch to to earn the victory.  I also would like to wish the Marlins good luck tonight, and I hope they are holding the trophy when it's over. Go Titans, let's finish this great season with a win and 3rd place.

Tough loss for the Titans last night in what sounded like a great D3 contest. Congratulations to VWC on the win and keeping their streak alive, it is pretty impressive. Also, good luck tonight and I hope the Marlins are holding the trophy when it's over. I do feel really bad for Adam, he has been a great leader and played many fantastic games for IWU over the years. Sometimes, no matter how hard you work or how much you want it, things just don't go your way, in sports or in life. Adam is an outstanding young man and I know he will bounce back and lead the Titans to one more victory this afternoon.

Loggerville, I meant no disrespect to UPS last night, I was just expressing confidence in the Titans. It's going to be another great d3 basketball game tonight with two excellent teams. The Titans will have to play very well to earn the win.

A great comeback win for the Titans tonight, beating Lawrence on their home court. Trailing by 10 most of the game, withstanding the 73% Lawrence shooting in the first half, this is just a tremendous victory for IWU. Looking forward to beating UPS tomorrow night to get to the Final Four in Salem. I will be making the 4 1/2 hour trip to Appleton to see the game. GO TITANS!

OK, I was wrong yesterday when I sad Augie would host the sectional, but I would like to congratulate Lawrence on being selected as the host. They earned it by being undefeated and ranked #1. It should be a great D3 basketball matchup between IWU and LU, really this should be a Final Four type game.

As for the Augie/UPS game, I have to think Augie will take the victory in this one, setting up the 4th game this year between IWU and Augie. I believe the Vikings will be able to handle the pressure defense of UPS and limit their turnovers while scoring regularly.  It should be a great weekend of D3 basketball in Appleton next weekend.

Now that Lawrence has been awarded the sectional, and I agree they should have based on being undefeated and ranked #1, let's move the focus away from the facilities and on to the games themselves. IWU is playing really well right now and I am sure they are looking forward to the challenge of playing the #1 team on it's home floor. It's a huge challenge for the Titans, but they have started to look like the team we saw before Christmas. If the Titans can continue to play at their current level, they will have a good chance to get the win over Lawrence. And I mean no disrepect to the Lawrencwe team, they have had a great season and I expect it will a great D3 basketball game.

"While I think LU deserves to host, I think their chances are essentially nil.  The winner of Puget Sound-Occidental has ZERO chance, since the NCAA is not about to fly 3 teams out there instead of one team here.  But Augie and IWU each have THREE times the capacity of Alex - who do you think they will choose? "
I agree, LU being #1 deserves to host the sectional, but I really think Augie will be the host because of their location ans seating capacity.

A very impressive night for the CCIW, congratulations to IWU and Augie on beating the WIAC schools. I think we'll be at Augie next weekend for the sectional. I beleive the they said te Lawrence gym only seats 1000 amd Augie goes over 2500. Huge game from Adam tonight for the Titans with good help from Keelan.

No doubt about it, I do see things through green tinted specs, but I am  rooting for all 3 CCIW teams to make it to the sectional round. That would be great. But I do realize it most likely won't happen, based on past history. While the CCIW is a very tough conference, there are plenty of talented teams to face once the tournament gets here. And it is even tougher than the regular season to win on the road. But I will be rooting for IWU, NCC and Augie to go far in the tournament.

Congrats to IWU, Augie and NCC for making the tournament, it's great to have 3 CCIW teams in. Can't wait to see the parings tomorrow.

"That being said, my question is why did it take the Titans 5 full halves of basketball and nearly 80 points from Simmons in those 5 halves (29, 28, and I believe 20 at half last night) before they found the correct adjustment?"
I am just speculating, but my guess is the Titans had confidence that Cory and Chris could step up and guard Simmons, they both play pretty good defense. But then IWU finally realized he was just too much for one guy to handle and being down by 19, they had to try something different.

The Titans did a great defensive job on Simmons in the 2nd half by denying him the ball and taking away the lob with back help. And when he did receive the ball, the double team came right away, making him pass back out. The Titan comeback was tremendous in the 2nd half as was the ability of NCC to regroup and keep their composure after losing the lead. I hope Harrington gets healthy and Augie, NCC, and IWU make long post season runs. What do you think the chances are of each being sent to a different area to play? Or will two of the 3 be in the same grouping?
