Beloit lost a great man last week.  RIP Ron Splan, longtime fixture at the score table among other things.

An interesting out of season battle between longtime rivals is being waged in the battle for the Wisconsin Supreme Court as Ripon alum, Micheal Gableman tries to take the seat of LU alum Loius Butler.

In this case there is no doubt in my mind...

BETTER DEAD THAN RED!!!

You see it's easier to make things up with some of the facts than it is with all of them.

Spoken like a good Republican...

North Park has fielded some notoriously bad teams in various sports over the years, but if the school had ever scraped the bottom of the athletic barrel to the point where the likes of yours truly was needed to suit up and take the field -- in any varsity sport -- then the board of directors would have been better off shutting down the entire athletic department.

I thought the board had taken that action several years ago...

on a basketball note....i just heard that Josh Hinz has gotten a pro deal to play in Ireland. that makes 2 from the MWC. anyone know the last time 2 players from the conf. in the same yr got deals. i remember Hanula from SN a cpl of yrs ago. is there anyone else?

also are there any comments on what people think of their teams for the up coming season?

I remember that Braier ate him alive last year after Hinz was a "Face in the Crowd".  He scored like 11 points, and 7 of them were after Tharp set Braier down because LU was up by 25 or more.  Maybe they don't play defense in Europe.

European chicks are hot, though.   And they like scorers.  ::)
Didn't you mean "they like scones?"

Thanks to jeffp for the mug and support.  I did catch a glimpse of the b-ballers in the gym, great ball handling skills indeed and that one guy wow!

Seems as if Jeffp has taken over the Grinnell Chamber of Commerce... even making sales for the city's best businessman.

Some confusing moves in the NBA draft, but I think Portland may have traded for Grotberg at one point last night.

They actually traded for him twice.  I guess his summer fellowship paid off and Grotberg has indeed perfected human cloning.  He should be leading the NBA in scoring for the next 40 years.
I hate to be one of those people who point out typos, but I think you meant he has perfected human clowning...  after all he plays for the circus!  ;D

The problem is it is tough to recruit to Iowa City when the kids can go there or to Grin City.

Go Tigers!

My guess that there are no 7 hour road trips in the NEWMAC either.
