I watched two Whitewater games this year, and I agree with everyone's assessment thus far. The only shot Witt has here is keeping UWW under 30, and even then it will be tough.

Building off of that, keeping them under 30 without turnovers probably won't be enough, on its own. I thin Witt will need to supplement some offense with defense in the form of interceptions or fumbles in UWW territory. A short field for Witt will be big in ensuring that they get some points on the board.

Nonetheless, it will be fun watching a school of 2000 students compete against a school with 12,000
Last time I checked UWW played 11 at at time not 12k. The players still don't have scholarships.  ;D

Just thinking about UWW's game on Saturday and how refreshing it would be for UWW to march down the field, on their opening drive, and put 7 on the board.

Let's not make this game harder than it needs to be. Put Lakeland away early, get the backups in and avoid any (further) injuries for once. The last think I want to see is a repeat of UWRF or UWS games.

That's all I ask this first round game.  ;)

Me too. Dear Santa, please have the UWW offense huddle before 50% of the plays, mix the run and play action, the short and vertical and create and own third and short.
Thanks.

Dear Santa

If you have an extra order the above, I would like that as well and if it is not too much trouble I would also like a 12 pack of Spotted Cow!

Merry Christmas

WarhawkDad

If I may, I recommend New Glarus's new Spotted Cow they came out with: Spotted Cow Grand Cru. It comes in a 4 pack (part of their Thumbprint series). Same smoothness going down, but it has a slight boldness to it. It has a higher alcohol content than the original: 8.5% compared to 5.1%.

Good stuff!
Certainly will make tailgating.....more efficient!  8-)
I won't be having anything with Cru in the name until after the play offs

Looking forward to seeing the Muskies in Whitewater.  Hopes are for good weather and safe travels.

interesting brackets.  Looking forward to some home games for UWW.  Know its time to get healthy before.  I don't know much about Lakeland.  I was hoping for MU to be in the West bracket.  I don't think they will make it past the Texas teams this year.

UWW defense looked tired and slow during the game. Both the front seven and the secondary had rough games. Although we had 3 sacks we weren't able to apply enough consistent pressure to knock the QB off his game. It was certainly not the type of line play we have come to expect. The QB got rid of the ball fast but we should be used to that by now. LX is a legitimate top 25 team and should have garnered more votes than they did. Hopefully the QB didn't sustain an injury that will keep him out, he is definitely a gunslinger.

Just wait until they get the new candy store completed in the next year or two with the renovations to the locker rooms and athletics areas.

The crowd was great. I think towards the end the crowd helped the defense. It was great to be in the middle of the crowd during those last couple of d stands. Once again I think that some of the QB issues still come from the rotation and nerves. I think these will disappear over the next couple of games. We have to have a passing game, UWO stacked the box because we are a little too predictable on offense. I expect that to change as Wilbur gets more playing time. We have to be able to throw successfully on first and second down

What a game. Defense played tough and the offense put it together when they needed too.  Hopefully Wilbur will get a little extra practice time under center this week and figure out how to hold on to the ball, but he made some good throws. I hope the question of the starter was settled today. Now it's on to LaCrosse who ain't scared either.

Hoping for a big crowd for the game Saturday, 15k+ last year and hopefully more this year.  I don't think there will be a bigger game in D3 until the play offs. Tailgating will start early I am sure.  Looking forward to good weather, good friends, good beer and a good win

thanks for the heads up.  I have forwarded the address to the interested party.  I wish they could use a better system but like was said earlier, sometimes the commentary leaves a lot to be desired anyway

Will the Platteville game have a video feed.  I don't see anything but audio on the Warhawks site and can't determine from the Platteville site if the do or not.

Hey, I just heard that the #2 team in D3 is playing the #2 team in the NAIA tomorrow.

You wouldn't know it on d3football.com

;D  ;)
Come on, they talked about for almost 30 seconds on the podcast...

Gumina had a good year last year but Campbell has managed to get open and make the catches this year. He has the size to block obviously but he is hard to bring down when he gets some forward momentum. I like them using the tight ends. If nothing else it keeps the secondary guessing. My two cents on the QB, put Wilbur in, Nelson just seems shaky and is making poor decisions. I just don't think faster opponents are going to help with that decision process. Holding the ball for as long as he does is something you can get away with against Belhaven, but not against the WIAC. He still doesn't seem to be going through his progressions and finding the open receiver.

Seems like Wilber is exponentially better than last year. When he played, with limited time last year he wasn't that good. Coaching staff has done an amazing job, time for him to be the starter going forward.

Bullis kind of shot down that idea on the postgame interview, saying "Chris is our guy."

To the fans, the back up QB is many times the most liked guy on the team (by the fans), especially when the starter did nothing to give them confidence in his ability, like throwing 2 int's and fumbling twice, pretty much in quick succession.
On the fumble he just held the ball way too long with a receiver wide open down the middle that I don't think he ever saw. The first 2 quarters were brutal to watch

With all the passing Belhaven does, I'm hoping for some picks.  I imagine they will mostly rely on short passes so not too much of a chance for sacks and fumbles.
Last year UWW held back on passing and stayed w ground game. I get that the running game keeps Belhaven's offense off the field, but I'm interested to see if UWW goes to the air more if Nelson plays.
How else will the Dub decide on a QB (if not already decided)?
I hope to see UWW air it out more. I actually think Wilbur has a stronger arm and could get the long routes going. I thought the game plan was good last week with the fast pace. It wore TCNJ out and I think it will have the same affect this week.
