If BC admin is serious about football then they need a sea change in direction. Fish stinks from the head. Don't want to hear about offense coming alive today. Catholics defense was flat awful. Left people wide open downfield and just flat fell on some coverages. There was talent for BC this year leftover from last year but coaches just failed them frankly.

It was a 3 point game with 3:00 left when an awful penalty was called on 4th down that gave GC life. Saw it live seen it on film. Player jumping up and down convinced a ref 30 yards away when the one guy on top of the play said incomplete.
We shot ourselves in the foot too many times but moved the ball up and down the field and actually threw it down the field instead of sideways, but hey I would too if my WRs blocked like that.GC won the game but it was no cakewalk and they were fighting hard to not let that last score in. I'll see how good WL is in person this Sat. I watched earlier game when they beat GC and they had a good handle on things when your QB got knocked out.

I disagree with your statement that "BC won that ballgame everywhere except on the scoreboard."  The Eagles had three turnovers and GC one.  GC won the punting game and special teams. BC had 221 yard passing and Guilford 220.  GC had I'm sure a lot more yards rushing (actually, BC by about 50 yards).  I remember some calls that could have gone both ways ... the one you cite is so unremarkable I don't even remember it.

seriously. Unremarkable? You don't score last touchdown of you don't get that call on 4th down. Passing 224-220 BC Rushing186-133BC time of possession BC. You are correct you won the turnover battle and special teams. Offensively BC 3 tds GC 2 tds 1 fg . Two of our TOs were in red zone. I'd say we gave you the game and you finally found a way to take it.

There's nothing they've done this year that they didn't do last year at the same time in the season but take a worse beating from Wabash. If the "team" is better it's not from losing 4 future HSC HOF players.  If this team is better than last it's because of the offensive and defensive lines.

Note I said team. Yes you lost 2 guys that were definitely game changers. My observation was they got leaned on too heavily and you guys limped across the finish line. From what it looks like you are more diverse in what you can do and an injury here or there won't hurt as much. Also if you control line of scrimmage you can do just about what you wish. Trying to be complmentary on what I've observed last few years.

I'm thinking the coaches will have to coach conservatively in comparison to last year. Seems like they found a RB and that helps an inexperienced QB. Chances are you will have a better TEAM this year. Hope we have good weather when BC makes that trip. It's been nasty usually

As for playing decent team, looking at the OOC schedules for all ODAC teams and specifically CUA, SU, WL and GC - I'd say that all 4 played a decent team for the first time this year.  The only surprise  - not shocking was the WL victory.   With huge respect to WL, I'm not sold on their defense yet. Just last week their defense gave up over 300 yards rushing to Apprentice. They showed up big yesterday.  WL will need another strong effort this week - as will HSC.  The ODAC is very competitively balanced. Your favorite team cannot mail it in. They have to come ready to play each and every week.

RMC will néed to go 5-1 the rest of the season to have a winning record. If they go 4-2 they have their 2nd straight 5-5 season. I have not seen anything that makes me think either will happen.  Is there anyone out there that has any connection to RMC that cares to comment?

after next week there will only be 2 undefeated in conference. It's great the way the schedules have worked out. I just have that feeling it's going to be another crazy season in the ODAC.

Koonce is the real deal. As is the HSC OL. Koonce has over 400 yards rushing in last 3 games. 203 today. This is the second week in a row HSC ran for over 200 yards. The passing attack is still there but HSC has shown that they can adapt to what the defense is giving them. 

Congrats to WL on a nice win. The Tigers are hungry for another home game. There should be a huge crowd this weekend. Today's "home" game was played an hour from HSC on a turf field due to weather. Looking forward to a great game this weekend.

I'm telling you. It was 3-3 mid 2nd qtr when he went out. Their defense was stout. Catholic came back to Earth and played a decent team and you exposed their weak defense. HSC will have all they want from W&L. In other news BC ov er SU  39-21. I think BC found an identity if the coach isn't too obtuse to admit it.

We usually struggle on the bye weeks as teams get an extra week to prepare, so I'm happy to be through it.

I watched it and was most impressed with W&L defense. They got after it all game and made key stops.

Just a very even conference. But I agree with the coaches. Guilford is going to be a bear this year. I also like the tiers. I think there very much is that second BC, EHC, HSC tier, and then the W&L, Shenandoah, Catholic tier. Within those two tiers I think the teams are pretty much interchangeable, although a lot depends on how HSC responds to everything they lost. Starting with Wabash could be a big confidence booster, or something that sends a reloading season into a rebuilding one...



Emory and Henry could be nasty this year and I believe W&L will be a tough game for most teams. They were so young last year.

Everybody getting stoked. Coaches pre season poll and interviews sound about right. Guilford should get the nod with all the starters returning. After that it's just a dead heat. I don't see a pushover on the schedule. Still the most balanced conference in D3.
