Thank you for the kind words.

Looking forward to a great game Saturday with the title on the line for both teams.

One small correction...Grunder finished with 32 points (not 35)...11 in first half and 21 in second.

SUNYAC basketball does not re-seed after the first round. SUNYAC ice hockey does.

Nevertheless, when Pep went to the press box to thaw out at halftime (game was played on a brutally cold windy day), overheard was the SID or equivalent directing a sound person to play music for good Cortland plays "because they have that pep band over there."

Pep, for the record - I know I didn't say that. I'm a big fan of keeping things neutral during NCAA events. I'm not disputing that you heard what you heard that day...just saying that it didn't come from me.

Cortland jr. outfielder Colin BeVard selected NCAA Division III Baseball National Hitter of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. .... His four home runs included an amazing three inside-the-park homers -- two in the same inning, and he ended the week with a 1.615 slugging percentage.

If BeVard was less speedy (the pace around the bases was amazing), he would have had two triples in an inning, something only done 6 times. Instead he is just one of many with 2 HRs in an inning.

Ironically, one of those six players with two triples in an inning was a Cortland player (Dave Tidick vs. Oneonta in 1995)!!

Thanks Dave. No need to go searching - I trust you!! Good to know that I (and others) didn't miss out on nominations. -- Fran

And I just checked the site - there's no Team of the Week posted for this week. The last one posted was for last February. Bengals, if you have a link to the newest Team of the Week (if there is one), please post it here. Otherwise, I don't think there was one this past week. Thanks. -- Fran

On a side SUNYAC (Womens) note.... Buffalo State's  - Princesss McCullough scored 25 points (10 OF 15 from the field)), pulled down 21 rebounds (4th best total in BENGAL single game history) AND 6 blocks versus Morrisville...and yet not even a mention on the D3 Hoops "Team of The week' although no member of that team of the week has stats that that can compare to McCulloughs??!!?!  Hoping that Pat Coleman, Magicman, The Bear, FranElia or someone can offer some advice. Hoping that its not that dreaded BB (Bengal Bias) that prevented her from being recognized

Check and see if the SID reported it to D3hoops. Most of the time when a stat line like that doesn't get mentioned is because the player wasn't nominated by the school's SID. It's not always D3hoops missing the boat.

That was a pretty good game by that young lady and certainly should have merited a TOTW nod.

I was under the belief that there wasn't a Team of the Week this past week. I went into the system to nominate Nicky Bonura and there were no options available for basketball (just football and ice hockey). I will check with Pat Coleman to see why this happened. I'm disappointed, but I assume it was just some sort of technical glitch. -- Fran

My thanks to Jason Bowen, Pat Coleman and the D3football.com staff for the great story on Brett. Great job!!

Apologies for the inconsistency of the video during the NCAA Regional in Auburn. We've been having some internet issues at the park, which is leading to problems with buffering and dropping of the broadcast.

Cortland is not playing at SUNY Poly. A leftover on their schedule page, but from what I've been told the game is not happening.

FYI - my apologies to the loyal fans for no live stats from the Cortland game tonight. We're probably going to go a while without them. Long story that I can't get into here, but the decision was out of our hands.  We at least will hopefully have video for most of the games.  -- Fran

I couldn't get video either.

I'm sorry about that. The video seemed to be fine for most, however. We had more than 200 viewers at one point, from what I've been told. We stream on YouTube Live, which tends to work on most devices.
