In the wartburg game the 4th official called a hand ball that happened about 40 sec before the goal. The Wartburg players were done celebrating and back to their spot when the 4th official called the center over. It was pretty odd.

In the Sweet 16 last year Trinity didn't even warm up outside and did not come out until like five min before the game. Wartburg scored in the first five min of that game. I wonder if they will rethink that strategy this year? Is that what they did for the Loras game the next day as well?

Of course!
COY: Rothert for dealing with all these injuries (WorstCOY Garcia-Pratts for that schedule or sports info director or whoever thought that was a good idea)
Offensive MVP: Nadeau runs away with it. Gednalski is next closest but with the two h2h's against the burg Nadeau gets it. Loras doesn't have any one player who plays offense (except Pizello who we will get to later)
Defensive MVP: Pizello. I know this is a strange choice, but I feel like he could be considered a defensive center mid. They have been the best team defensively in the IIAC, and I just don't think its because of their center back (koening I think). Pizello is extremely good in the air and prevents balls from even getting close to the defense. Along with this, Pizello scores a ton of goals and is Loras's main offense. I know this is a defensive award but IIAC often gives defensive player of the week to a defender that scores so maybe I might be right!
1st team all conference:
Loras: Pizello, Fluegel, Koening, Simon??
Wartburg: Krueger, Nadeau, (I think Azari deserves it but probably wont give it to two wartburg forwards because of gednalski and white), Anderson, Martins
Luther: Gednalski, JW Slauson
Simpson: White
Dubuque: Hager, their goalie??
Hmm that was hard haha

Yes, they were up 1-0 on Trinity and then lost in OT

I think many people also thought that Luther should be a tourney team... who Wartburg beat twice

No one is talking about one of my fave unknowns, MSOE. We're talking about far Wartburg might go, and MSOE might be primed for an upset special. Wheaton will be hoping for that result. And I definitely could see St. Scholastica taking out Chicago.
What do you know about MSOE NCAC? They have played many of the teams in the North region, but I have heard hardly anything about them

Wartburg has a big man up top who distributes as well as scores. They have surrounded him with small fast attackers who run off him any chance they get. For this reason Wartburg is quite effective at sitting in and counter attacking when they need to. They did this vs Loras when they were up one and had a point blank shot blocked that should have put them up 3-1. A red-head in the middle plays the whole game and is a true enforcer. They also have a big man in the back who was effective at turning away the majority of Loras's long boots.

So did Trinity just not get to host because of the two red cards at the end of last season or what is the situation with that?

Also it will be interesting if Trinity is in out quadrant because then they would host sweet 16 and elite 8 I can't think of anyone else unless they give like wheaton one of the top four seeds
