jumpshot, this was the first "road to salem" I have watched and those same thoughts streamed through my mind. I understand that this is an all access type film, but discretion should be taken on the matter. Im sure most if not all middlebury parents watched the film and there is a good chance the young womens family has seen it now as well. very well done and highly entertaining, but I would rather stay naïve to these occurrences.

excited to see how the league breaks down. I think at this point, the 1-3 seeds are locked up. 4-8 is anyones guess.
1. amherst- despite a unexplainable loss to colby, they are still the team to beat after beating bowdoin and handling williams twice.
2. williams- only one game this weekend but certainly something to be happy about. their win over bowdoin will prove to be colossal.
3. bowdoin- interesting match up against midd this week. they havent been able to crack the 'big three' yet but this could be their chance
4/5/6. midd/colby/ trinity- all have shown flashes of play that would prove they deserve a first round home game, but also all have been just as far from the ball the other way. midd has pulled out some squeakers, but has showed it is dangerous to live on the edge. colby lost three in a row including against conn and hamilton, two lesser teams. and trinity is on a current 3 game slide (their wins vs tufts and bates are not looking as strong as they once did).
7. hamilton- after their weekend win, they deserve credit and could be a tough 1st round out.
8. wesleyan- somehow 3-3 but have four tough games left (5 if include east conn). would be surprised if they win another game and make the league tournament.
9. tufts- not sure the problem here, lots of talent but should not be losing to wesleyan. seems like every year the pieces are there but they cant put it together. coaching?
10. conn- the fact they could still make the league tournament and no one would be surprised shows the parody of the league
11. bates- no other options. one conference win and some loses that have everyone scratching their heads

weekly league update
league poll rankings 1 amherst 2 williams 3 bowdoin 4/5 middlebury/bates 5 tufts 7 trinity 8 colby 9 hamilton 10 conn 11 wesleyan
if bowdoin can beat williams this weekend they can move up to 2. hamilton/colby game will help decide the 8 spot. if amherst can handle tufts and bates it is clear they are the top team. if trinity can beat tufts they will take over in the 5 spot. middebury should have no problem with conn and wesleyan and with a bates loss to amherst they will stand alone at 4. with a bates win over amherst and a bowdoin loss to williams, bates can move to 3.
match ups to watch mayer vs swords- swords has emerged gigantically this season and with mayer struggling this will show who is the leagues top center early in league play. toomy vs safford- two high scoring guards. this will be a chance for safford to prove he belongs among leagues best guards. vadas vs middleburys backcourt- for conn to have a chance, vadas needs to have a big night.

Long time follower first time poster. I graduated from a nescac school a long while ago and my son from one 6 years ago. Hes finally allowing me to post so heres my first shot at it. Im sure soon youll all find out where my allegiance is but for now ill keep that up for guesses.
Been following the league closely the past couple years and imo this is not a,m,w's strongest. If a change in the thrown is going to occur, this is the year for bowdoin, bates, tufts. Its really a shame tufts has suffered the loss of paleschi and uncertainty of ferris or I would say they are fighting with amherst for the second spot in the league. All considered I think they are 5 behind big 3 and bowdoin. Im looking forward to the bowdoin williams match up to see where bowdoin really stands. I dont think they have played a great team yet as a middle of the pack bates has been their one quality opponent. This being said, they are a very good team and impose many troubles on williams, especially if mayer continues his sub par play and I say that realizing he has been averaging 16 and 10 since the break. Disappointed hurley is out or I think this team could be making national noise, although they seem to be adjusting much better than expected.
Looking towards the week ahead, bowdoin should have no trouble until williams, amherst has two predictable wins before williams on saturday which is a disappointing duel so early in the season as opposed to the final weekend. Hoping to make that game yet have no opinion on outcome. Williams will have a well deserved rest this week going into league play. Middlebury is better than their recent performances and should beat plattsburgh allowing for two intriguing match ups this weekend against bates tufts. Finally tufts next two games imo will define the direction of their season. RIC provides problems for any team even in a down year and middlebury is in need of a statement win.
Let the league games begin. while williams is the favorite this will be an exciting season because another SVT game can happen at any time. Looking forward to the entertainment ahead of us
