Congrats. TLU. It's been a long time coming.

Since explanations are the order of the day, who can explain how a conference runner up who didn't finish in the top 25 gets seeded higher than two conference winners and one of which was ranked 6th? Is SOS that big of a decider?

I do find it kinda funny that TLU and Concordia get to travel over 2000 miles to play each other when they're only 50 miles way from each other.

I'm sorry. I know they have a lot of fans here and I know they are used to always winning, but if Trinity makes it to a regional then the system is very very flawed. No way on earth a team who loses 5 of their last 6 games, doesn't win their regular season and goes 2 out in their tournament should get any consideration. It would strictly be on reputation only if they got in, not on their performance this season. JMHO.

Talk about stumbling across the finish line. Both TLU and Centenary lose 2 of 3 this weekend coming into the Conference tournament, which TLU hosts based on holding the tie breaker vs Trinity. I believe Cent has the two seed since they beat SWern 2/3 in conf play, who finished strong for the 4 seed. Any team other than Trinity has to win the Conf tournament to make it to the Regional at this point. As PLU showed in the NWest it's not how you play during the season, only at the end if you are in your conf tournament. Nice finish for SWern who TLU is now aware of what to look for in game 1.  I think this is one of the more closely matched Conf tournaments in some time so there should be some excellent games in Seguin starting on Friday.

This years stumble is much better than last years face plant. ;)

TLU 1-0 win over Southwestern tonight for SCAC regular season title. Redshirt Freshman Nathan Malinovsky (W, 8-1) threw a complete game 4 hitter.

Well obviously there will be a new number 1 in the country next week. I can not remember a Trinity team ever getting run rulled  in a game. It has probably happened but not that I can remember. Loosing two close games is one thing, but the way this happened is an embarrassment to the players and the program. I hope the 15 Sr's take this a a way to motivate themselves and their teammates the rest of this season. Wow.

Even though my son is not playing there anymore I'm still a TLU fan and love to see how well they are playing. That being said 108 stitches, TLU took 2 of 3 in the regular season last year as well from Trinity and the season turned out Ok in the end. I want to see the Bulldogs follow it up when it counts this year.

While it is a run rule, it was not a test. I've been watching them play and SW gave up about 4 weeks ago. They backed into the 4th spot. Wish Austin had been a little better because they would have loved to been there.

Not sure what last "two" weeks you're referring to with TLU. Yes, they got spanked last week but they were off the week before and swept SW the week before that. It's a waste of time to try and predict this tournament. Any of them can take it.

Texas Lutheran  13-2
Centenary 10-2
Trinity 7-5
Southwestern 6-6
Austin  5-7
Schreiner 2-10
Dallas 2-13

Maybe 108 stitches can check my math but this is what I come up with as far as who can win the regular season. TLU wins one of three against Centenary if Centenary doesn't sweep Southwestern and they win the regular season. Centenary and Trinity win out last 6 games then Trinity wins on head to head vs. Centenary. Only Centenary wins out and they win on head to head vs. TLU. Am I missing anything? I'm not even going to try and figure out the 4 and 5 spot but since Austin finishes with Trinity and Southwestern finishes with Schreiner, I'm giving the edge for the 4 spot to Southwestern ;)

The TLU/SW game is supposed to be completed Wednesday at 7;00PM, Play will resume in the top of the fifth with Southwestern leading 2-0. The Pirates are at the plate with the bases loaded and one out. TLU is in a off week so they have the time.

Forget the polls  ;D ???
Best 6 should go to the West Regional. No fly in's  :D
All conferences have Conference tourney's to determine Pool A bids in 2015

SCAC
Texas Lutheran 20-9
Trinity 19-9

Just trying to figure out your reasoning for including (at this point) a team that is 4-5 in conference. Lost two series to teams above them. Stands in 4th place in conference by just a single game with a series to come up against the team behind them. I get reputation, but just like the team moms that vote in the polls, take a look at what they have done so far this year before making "predictions".

Here's the SCAC standings for those who can't seem to find them.

Here is my take on how the conference will turn out:

Southwestern
Current: 5-1
Projected: 14—4
If they go 1-2 vs TLU then 13-5
3 - Austin
2-1 - TLU
2-1 - Cent
2-1 - Dallas

Well there's one down. ;)

West Teams in the Rankings:

18) CTX
19) Trinity (TX)
20) Cal Lu
RV) Linfield
RV) Pacific Lutheran
RV) Puget Sound
RV) Pomona-Pitzer
RV) Southwestern (TX)

I stated this on the Top 25 poll board but the fact that Texas Lutheran is not even receiving a single vote but Trinity is ranked in the Top 25 does not make any sense. However, there still does not seem to be any team that really wants to take over the West Region and separate themselves. Should be a very interesting 2nd half of the year in the Region.

Especially after losing two straight conference series. Southwestern has beat some some strong teams but lost 2 of 3 to TLU in non conference games but still managed 6 votes. I think team mom's vote on this crap.
At this time of year you take these with a grain of salt. Keep winning and your team will get in. Keep winning year after year and build a reputation. You cannot compare teams in a Vacuum. You have to take the whole body of work.

Year after year should have nothing to do with it. Are the Aggies ranked number one because of past years.? It's because of this year. The problem.is it's the same people voting on the same teams without really taking a hard look at anything. Mailing it in so to speak.

Crickets  ;)  The only thing missing is the drunk student section in left field when Miller was there.

Great atmosphere but the team should act like they have been there before.

I'll take the way they act over fist fights in the dugout.

Wow!! Please, do tell more!!

Sorry, I figured everyone knew. In game 2 against TLU there was a fight in the Trinity dugout between two players. I'm not sure of names but I'm sure 108 stitches knows which ones hey were. There's definitely something going on with that team that has them heading in the wrong direction.
