UWSP scrimmaged UM-Duluth yesterday.  Duluth is loaded this year and I assumed Point wouldn't match up very well.  The first period showed that as I was told they won pretty easily.  2nd half was quite the contrary as Point was leading the entire way but wasn't able to hold on late.  As good as I think Duluth will be this year, I think that's a positive result.

UMD has 6 seniors, including Alex Illikainen

Bethany Lutheran defeats UW-Superior to end a 53 game conference winning streak. It is getting crowded at the top of the UMAC.

Crown looks tough. That is good for the UMAC overall.

It will be interesting to see if UW-Superior can 4-peat next year after losing four starters, including 3 time POY Hailey Kontny.
Hannah Norlin is a good player to start with , though.

UWS looks very strong, although they will have to do it without Coach Mulhern.
'

Jackets 5-0 in UMAC.  Haley Kontny scores her 1000 th point for UWS on saturday.  She played her freshman year at UM-DULUTH, so she did 1000 in  2 1/2 years.

Former Washburn(WI) and UM- Duluth Forward, Brant Schick, is transferring to UW-Superior.

Good get; I heard that Rafael Monteiro was going to transfer. Hope not.

Hello...any Crown College fans out there? Or am I alone on this island?

Interesting debate on the all-conference so i did a little statistical analysis to look at it more closely.  I took the formula that they use for the fantasy league for the WIAC and tweaked it by dividing the number of games played.  Thus not to penalize someone like Tillema or Skogman for breaking their nose and thus missing a conference game.  I used conference only stats no non conference games played any factor in this.  So for review i took points scored, 3pters made, ft's made, total rebounds, assists, steals, blocks minus turnovers and then divided by games played.  I also took the liberty to go a little deeper to see if anyone in the league may have gotten slighted...

1 Chas Cross 30.25 pg  1st team
2 Tyler Tillema 29.733 pg POY
3. Trevor Hass 29.313 pg 1st team
4 Jarrod Peterson 29.125 pg HM
5 Ollie White 28.938 pg 1st team
6 KJ Evans 28.813 pg 1st team
7 Callahan Skogman 27.133 pg 1st team
8 Adam Hjelter 22.625 pg HM
9 Jade Royston 22.563 pg 1st team
10 Jimmy Whitehead 22.50 pg HM
11 Alex Oman 22.267 pg HM
12 Eric Bryson 21 pg  1st team
12 Aaron Jenny 21 pg 1st team

Longtime reader; first time poster, but I felt compelled to enter the fray as I feel Jarrod Peterson should have been a lock for first team All Conference.  I know he was fiesty and probably set the WIAC record for T's, but he was the conference's leading scorer and was the target of the defense of the opponents every time. I saw him play a lot the last couple of years and believe me, the Jackets will miss him.  He was slighted! JARROD PETERSON is on my FIRST TEAM ALL CONFERENCE TEAM!!!
