Hmm, running up the score 98-0...stay classy Johnnies, stay classy.

Safe to assume you didn't watch the game ... so not so classy of you to cast judgement without knowing the details. That game could have been 120-0 or more. Do you have some advice on how SJU might have helped Scholastica more? More classy if SJU just handed them the ball (we could try throwing it to them, but not sure they would catch it). SJU was playing its 5th and 6th string guys almost all the second half. I don't think SJU threw the ball once in the second half. How about fair catching punts when we didn't have to? Intentionally letting a punt bounce and roll? Intentionally not going for a blocked punt twice when Scholastica was backed up into its end zone? Remember that Scholastica wants to play SJU. Remember that Scholastica annually wins its conference. Remember that Scholastica annually goes to the national playoffs. They were horrifically bad. SJU would have much preferred to play a Scholastica team that was much better.

Found myself humming the Johnnie fight song this morning while shoveling the walk.

Thanks Bench.

Are you implying that some teams have announcers who are homers?  ;)  I can think of two, both with "Saint" in their names.

We pay good money for that not-so-subtle promotion.

What? Mark Lewandowski a homer? Though, Bryan Backes does a nice job of moderating Mark and Mark openly admits it. Hey, hats off to all the radio announcers out there. I enjoyed watching and listening to the Johnnie away games and found the announcing to be quite good!

7:15 a.m.: I head on out to the Bowl to put my luxury seats up in the "skybox" in the woods across the way. A path past scoreboard and up hill along with a seating area was already shoveled. I think the Bungum family might be responsible.

QuoteI am wondering how the non-NCAA game against Jamestown, ND is affecting Concordia's numbers. Does it make them better or worse or neutral? On the one hand statistically speaking, 7 and 2, or 77.77% is not as "good" as 8 and 2, or 80% compared to either Bethel or St. Thomas, assuming both of these squads win out. On the other hand, we see the results of playing just one "better" team versus playing two "not so good" teams affect the SOS numbers, comparing St. Thomas and Concordia.

I also wonder about the non-NCAA win for Concordia (although irrelevant in this race). A number of years ago the Gustavus women hoopsters got credit for a victory (or didn't appear to LOSE credit for the lack of a full NCAA schedule) when they played Universidad Metropolitana of Puerto Rico. Got a bid over my CSB Blazers team. Really seems to me that NCAA teams should be required to play all their games against NCAA or have those games somehow count against them.
