My early prediction for UMU vs Wesley: UMU 31, Wesley 17

I would take that score - but I am very worried about: Steve Koudossou. This kid was a beast last year against Mount. He torched the D for 11 receptions and 270+ yards and 2 TDs. Mount was up 38-7 and held on at the end for the win 62-59. Mounts D is much better this year - but I hear so is Koudossou.

He is a great player, his ability with the ball in his hands and open space is at an elite level for D3 football. However, I realize rain played a factor, but Hobart held him to 1 catch for 9 yards (correct me if I'm wrong) in the first half. This was by sophomore and freshman corners with the freshman corner picking off Callahan his first time going deep to him. Obviously Koudoussu had a pretty big second half but the Mount Coaching staff must have seen some of the stuff hobart was doing to stop him. Again, the rain and the constant threat of being smacked by Tyre Coleman played a big part in it. I said 17 points based on the assumption Mount will be able to get after Callahan.

Since this "liberty league" page will soon die until next fall... What's the odds we see Tyre Coleman playing on Sundays next year? Would love to hear big brother Pat Coleman's opinion.

My opinion on what it takes to make the league is not a very informed opinion, just for the record. I am sure he will get a chance somewhere, though, and even if he isn't on an active roster next year, I think he'll have more than one opportunity to get a roster spot. But at 6-1, 258, I don't think he'll be playing DE in the league. He'll have to show he can play linebacker.

My $.02, which is based entirely on previous years' experience watching D-III players try to transition to the NFL.

He looks bigger than 6'1 258 on my little Ipad watching the live streams.  I'd say his best chance is to bulk up and play DT/DE in a 3-4 or DE in a 4-3.  He doesn't look that fast, and he doesn't really pursue backside like a NFL linebacker should (or could).  He will not be able to cover anyone in the NFL, so he will not be playing linebacker.  The Patriots get away with playing Rob Ninkovich at their DE (6'2 260, who also can't really cover anyone but is probably better than Coleman), so I guess you never know.

Nice name drop with Ninkovich.. But I agree. He's got a huge frame he could put muscle on for sure. Put him in an nfl lifting program for a year or so.. Ya never know.

Coleman dominated Wesley's OL today and had a career game in his final one as a Statesmen. Probably the greatest player in Hobart history, especially from a statistical perspective.

However Hobart's best shot at a possible pro player is Ali Marpet. He has the physical gifts at 6'4" 310 and was invited to the shrine which is no joke. Having seen and met with him in person he looks like a NFL player but at that level there are a lot of guys that size or bigger so it's a long shot just like any player from any a Division trying to make it in the league.

He was also invited to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on January 24th.

Coleman (90) was hurt at the end of the game, also Jake Stanley (7), the second leading tackler didn't play at all in the second half. Hobart just ran out of gas. After scoring in the third to bring it to 20-13, I thought they really had the momentum. But a red zone stop by wesley seemed to sway the momentum back to them. Wesley did hold hobart to under 200 yards of offense. But hobart also held wesley to 260 yards through the first 3 quarters until the wheels fell off so to say. Which is pretty impressive considering their offensive production throughout the year (rain was obviously a factor). Tyre Coleman ends his incredible career with Two sacks, a force fumble, a pass break up and SIX TFLs.. I don't know if that stat is correct but he was an absolute beast out there so it wouldn't surprise me. That leaves Coleman with 94.5 TFLs (3rd all time) and 50 sacks (2nd all time). Hats off to him and Hobart for a great and successful season and another step towards the ultimately goal of being an "elite" program.

Rain chances in Dover for Saturday have gone from 20% on Tuesday to 80% now. Is there a god?

Ha. Thank god. I'll leave that to Coach Cragg.

Big Hobart fan here, this is my first post although I am an avid reader. To go back to what wesleydad said, I think Hobart is going to struggle mightily running the ball and even worse throwing the ball. They simple just do not have the athletes on either side of the ball compared to Wesley, and let's be real, JHU really won that game twice before losing it. If Hobart stays within 30-35 I think that's a big win for the program, I am sure the team is just happy to be there.

Ha, so are you really a Hobart fan or are you trying to incite something?  I agree that my head tells me Hobart will have a tough time keeping this one within 4 scores, but even I, fan of a completely different team, would disagree the team is just "happy to be there."

I don't think I really said anything that would "incite" something. I've read and heard plenty of people say this game will not be close and the obvious reasons are there. Maybe I took it a little far by saying the team is just happy to be there, because of course they want to win but I just cannot see Hobart with 3 or 4 starters out (Berkowitz, Jackson, O'Connell, possible Cragg), all All League players, competing really with a Wesley team so much faster and more experienced. The likes of Reggie Robinson Devin Worthington and Steve Webb won't be showing up Saturday so to say this HOB can compete as the 2011 did is a little wishful thinking.
