First congrats to Lance, coach Borland and the Real Coach Z (Jim Zebrowski) on their Bowl Game victory. As far as the Warhawks go well it SUCKED watching the game yes they made a comeback at the end and ruined a shutout. Awesome job on the onside kick as well.. However they did not look good. or maybe it was NCC was that much better than the Hawks. Your only as god as your last game and the Hawks were not very good in their last one. However to be one of two teams left that's a good thing. No prize for second place as my dad would say and told me in 2005 and 2006 "Second Place is the first Loser" He died last November.
Here is to a productive off season and recruiting going well so the Hawks can get back to what they were from 2007-2014 and make the Stagg Bowl an annual trip where ever it may be played and whoever they may play. Maybe we can play NCC six years in a row for it instead of that purple team from Ohio.

As I said to Bobo, there would be debate w some of his examples. I agree w you that LL didn't have a big play tight end/guy that opened the field for others. The LL teams used their tight ends as you said, but w great effect. See 2013 game at UMHB.
On the subject of tight ends, UWW had two big, string outstanding tight ends for 2015 and 2016- and for whatever reason, couldn't figure out how to weaponize them.

DC can defend himself on the cloud of dust comment, but you're pulling one game against a perennially weak defensive team to support your case. Imo three yards and a cloud of dust refers to a run ratio much higher than a pass ratio.

It is interesting how we all view things differently, but for most, we are in agreement the UWW offense is noticeably different than it was under the previous staff. I don't think we saw such differences when UWW moved through three offensive coordinators under LL- and all three OC's won championships their  first year on staff- with only one QB repeating.
Emma,I was referring to the run/pass ratio which is just like when Brez was the coach. However nothing was worse then the stout game in 2002 when we ran Fullback wedge 18 times in a row. Yes I said that right 18 times in a row. We put football back fifty years that game. However all that mattered was that we won. Of course the next week we went to Oshkosh and Blew the game, and ended the season 5-5.

As for the topic of WW's erosion of talent. I think a change in coaching staff and philosophy may have something to do with it. When LL got to ww IN 2007. He didn't like the idea of cutting kids at the end of fall camp. So the way they went about recruiting changed as a high school coaching friend of mine said they went after the top 2% of the talent they could get pissing off some high school coaches who were alumni. However as long as the Stagg bowl victories came they like it.
Since LL left one high school coach told me they bring n a lot more kids and the recruiting is back to the way it was when Brez was there prior to LL.
I accredit the fall off in Stagg Bowl performances to poor offensive performance in 2015,2016,and obviously 2017 and a change in offensive philosophy at the top as LL. Was a bit more wide open and KB is a little more Three yards and a cloud of dust.

I will never forget we had a not so impressive victory against St. Xavier in 2003. Coach Brez walks into the locker room where he expected the players to be celebrating and they weren't and he goes "What the HE** is wrong with you guys we just won a ball game.  Afterwards he and I were talking and he asked me why they weren't excited and I said we might just have a very mature team and they know that they didn't play well. His response was Bull Sh$t. You celebrate every win no matter what.
From that point on even when one side of the ball didn't play well I always remember that you celebrate a W no matter what. The season is to short to worry about f you didn't play well.

NAIA schools are a different breed for sure. St. X is very talented at the skill positions most years. WW beats them where it counts which in the lines. I remember in 2005 A.J. Raebel lined up at rush end in our nickel or dime package and just killed the poor guy he was going against in the second half. It was a great adjustment by coach Borland.

The Warhawks looked pretty good. Obviously the WW defensive playbook Stan got from Craig Smith didn't help much again. LOL
The Hawks looked good and as an alum I think coach Bullis has this thing going. Hopefully this will be the year they get back to the Stagg Bowl.

Bergstrom got hired in March. The firing seems like a disagreement in coaching philosophies.
The sad part is that former WW guys one who was highly regarded as the next head coach by many after Berezowitz retired is involved in this mess, and after how he handled not getting the job it doesn't surprise me at all.
Smith was probably just still pissed his contract did not get renewed so he said what they heck I will help Stan out with this info I have. Why he just didn't send it right to Stan is the question. Why does he have to get Nelson Edmonds involved???? He always seemed like a class act.

I think the whole thing is sad. I am shocked about one and one only person involved as he did not seem like the type of person who would do something like that. However the other person involved and how I saw he act after some things it doesn't surprise me at all.
Not sure if it's illegal, or against NCAA rules but in my mind it is totally unethical. Hopefully the schools involved take some type of action against them.

I apologize in advance if this was covered back when it happen in September. However it looks like UW-Lacrosse and coach Schmidt will be going on his third OC in four years. The OC they hired last spring the week of the UW-Whitewater game was reassigned in the athletic department and therefore at that point prior to the game against UW-Whitewater was no longer with the program. None of the newspaper articles I found said why and for obvious reasons the university most likely could not comment on the situation. When I talked to two of my friends who work in the UW-System about this they said that didn't sound very good and the guy obviously did something so instead of firing him and making it a complete Sh$t show they reassigned him and fired him after the season.
Just curious if any of the other board members find this interesting or any of the Lacrosse faithful knew about this when it happened. Once again I apologize if this was indeed talked about back when it happen and I just missed it. As I was caring for my dad 24/7 and he passed away four weeks ago.

I know this may be jumping the gun a little bit. However, based on how the UWW defense if performing do uww supporters on this board think that if the right opportunity comes along does coach Erickson take a head job??? Also does the way the offense is performing guarantee that coach Jennings get the interim offensive coordinator tag off and they make it a permanent hire for next year. I know that the season is not over but schools who are looking to make a change might have taken notice of UWW's success especially on defense and may want to tap into UWW's coaching staff. Not saying it's going to happen however it's hard not to notice the success the respective coordinators are having at UWW.

The Warhawk defense is no joke allowing only 18 yards rushing is extremely impressive

That's till the new head coach comes in and wants to hire his own people. The reality of college football

Any news on the new Benedictine head football coach or who the candidates might be or when they will be interviewing them????

UW Whitewater has hired Peter Jennings the offensive coordinator from Rhodes college. It will be announced this next week. As one former  All Americans said hopefully he is better than the last OC. My question to him was can he be any worse? This last year was really bad and losing those first two games was very unlike whitewater.. Even under Brez
