Don't overlook the golf course conveniently located next to the football field at Hamilton, Nescacman. It is a gorgeous, 9 hole par 35 boasting almost 3,000 yds of golf with stunning views of the valley and surrounding mountains. All you need is a putter, a 9-iron and sand wedge and that means less clubs to carry into the tailgate area which is but a soccer pitch away from the last hole. Feel like with the h.s. football field quality at Tufts and the car-jacking potential at Hartford State, Hamilton deserves better. The best part of the Hamilton Continental football experience? The lax security when it comes to beverages in the tailgating area (a black mark against Williams and one that will keep me permanently away from Williamstown, idyllic college setting or not). As long as you're not obvious and/or acting like a JA whilst sipping on your "rb float", security is totally cool. That alone, imho, deserves one of the top spots. Though I agree with you that the lack of a dedicated visitor seating section can make for a potentially sticky situation, I would add that I was at the Tufts game with a lively, boisterous Hamilton student section and things were very civil and the energy positive. At the Colby game, some newbie parents even took their seats in the Hamilton section (there is no clear delineation so we gave them a pass) and with emotions running high in a very close game, not a harsh word was spoken. I know you're still not onboard with the Continental 1 game winning streak and seemingly still stuck on the 1-25 record since 10/2012, and maybe this is holding you back, but I hope you catch the fever soon. Nobody likes a bandwagoner, NescacMan;)

From the little I've seen of Coach Kelton, he is a class act, whatever the Eph's record may be. If there were some "dirty" plays yesterday, I think it's a big stretch to say they were a reflection on the coach. More likely a reflection on the particular player(s) involved.
I wish Kelton well, wherever he winds up next year.
PC, My comments were my personal opinion of the coaching of the football game and certainly not on the measure of the man.

November 01, 2015, 11:51:59 AMI took a page out of Pep's book and had way too many Root Beer Floats last night in celebration of the Hamilton win but still would like to share my thoughts on the game, headache or not.
In my opinion, it was really a tale of two coaches when it was all said and done. The Ephs showed flashes of greatness with some long pass plays on offense and solid defense at times but for the most part, the team played undisciplined football and seemed, at times, to be in disarray. The Ephs racked up over 100 yds in penalties and several of those came after the play was over keeping some crucial Hamilton drives alive that should've ended up in punts. Two of these penalties involved/targeted the Hamilton QB (hit to the head and unnecessary hit to a defenseless player), questionable play at best but it looked dirty and I think that is a reflection of the coaching. The Eph receiver going down with an injury with 40 seconds left, no timeouts and the clock ticking raised some Hamilton eyebrows as well. Confusion on the field even led to the Ephs wasting a timeout or two. I know many Ephs fans felt like the penalties against them were unfounded and led to their demise and I agree it did contribute, but the dagger was the premature burning of all second half Eph timeouts when time was not really a factor and the score was tight. The Ephs got the ball back with 1:45 left in the game and deep in their own territory, but working with no timeouts left the O with few options and the Hamilton defense was unbending. The final drive never got past the Eph's own 20.
Coach Murray, on the other hand, put a team on the field that played disciplined football, had a game plan that threw everything at the Ephs including a wildcat package with Lashawn Ware taking the snap and QB Cole Freeman at wideout, misdirection on runs and making some of Hamilton's predictable formations extremely unpredictable. Because of all this, Hamilton turned in a season-high rushing attack and opened up the passing game, something that has been missing at times this year. The defense turned in an impressive effort and got even better after the half which can be attributed to Murray. I've been impressed with Coach Murray all season but yesterday's game showed what an intelligent, creative fball coach he really is. From what I understand, he is very well-liked by the players and gets everything out of the boys. A very deserving win for him and the Hamilton team. As for Williams, I trust they will right the ship and iron out these problems for the sake of the boys.
