Great day to be a duhawk...can't wait for the duhawk faithful to take over KC in a couple weeks.

For reference....2013 sweet 16 & elite 8 weekend had temps single digits without wind chill which were rumored to be in the negatives. All games were still played in the evening. All weather sources have different information, but winter storm warning "guarantees" 6+ inches this evening through tomorrow morning. Depending on the amount of snow, wouldn't be surprised if Saturday's 5pm kick off gets pushed back to later in the evening.

St. Scholastica has been knocking on the door for a few years now and this looks like their year to make some noise.

Thomas More (can they be considered a dark horse??)...Still haven't gotten over witnessing their throttling of OWU back in September (I know, awhile ago) plus they just have that swagger to them that they are destined for big things. This should be the year for them to prove to everyone that they are the real deal come November. 6th straight ncaa appearance and they have not gotten out of the second round yet with each loss during this span coming by a goal or on pk's

Can someone just appease this "wingnut" and say LORAS WILL LOSE and they have the BEST CHANCE TO LOSE over anybody.
With no logic to back up this statement.
The logic is in the fact that you've already lost to two teams in your pod.
I'm not saying you're certain to lose, just don't understand some individuals anointing them before a ball is kicked.
I'd have a better chance of subscribing to lgotb's stance on MSU than mr right's idea of Loras as untouchable favorite.

This will be an interesting tourney for the almighty Duhawks. The squad easily has the potential  to make it to Kansas City, but that potential has not been seen except a couple times this season (Luther, Wheaton?, Chicago?) and we have seen the downside as well. But hey, who cares....it is the "best time of the year" and when was the last time a team beat the Duhawks twice in a season???  When the Duhawks make it to KC, school will be postponed and all of Duhawk Nation will be on hand after making the "short" commute.

Rose Hulman is a team that finds success from working together. They like 9/10 players behind the ball and hold a low line of confrontation, but they have the ability to strike quickly from the counter. They are very disciplined and like to keep possession, but have no problem giving up possession to superior teams (Wheaton) in order to keep their shape. They have yet to play a team this year with the direct style of play like uww. They will be able to score once or twice off a counter from a uww set piece, but will it be enough in the end? I look forward to seeing two completely different styles of play going head to head.

Onu vs Carthage will be a matchup between two teams that have yet to consistently live up to the potential their teams possess. I have a feeling we will be seeing quite a few goals in Ada on Thursday with the polar bears coming out on top.

Was a fun game to attend. NCC left it all on the field and got a bit lucky, but came out on top in the end. Wheaton was in and out of sync all night and couldn't put away any of their chances. Only 5 sog out of 24 attempts is a good summary of how the night went for the Thunder. A few unconverted sitters kept the game tight when it should of been blown wide open. Hats off to NCC who went into conference with a 1-9 record and is now in the championship against Carthage who nipped them 1-0 in ot on an own goal a month ago

Looks a little like 2012 with simpson squeaking by wartburg in the quarters before receiving a drubbing from Loras...only 3-0 this time around

UD seeks revenge and finds it with a 2-1 W

St. Johns 2-0
St. Thomas 2-1

The first HCAC tie-breaker is head-to-head. Going off of that, I believe it is set up so that if the regular season meeting between those two programs ended in a draw (2-2)...then the away team (Hanover) will receive the #1 seed come conference tourney time. I would assume they will be named Regular Season Co-Champions.
