R-MC lost an exhibition at D1 M. Saint Mary's 79-63. R-MC won the rebounding battle and freshman Montese Adams had 7 boards. Four freshmen played a total of 51 minutes but only scored 4 points.  Sophomore Mike Silverthorn had 22 points.  Curious to know if any R-MC posters went to they game. If so I'd love to hear your observations.

I attended the MSM game against RMC.  Encouraging to see the young team holding their own against a bigger and stronger D1 team.  RMC was down by only one going into the half.  The coach, rightfully so, played a bit more with rotations in the second half.  Some of those rotations and unnecessary turn overs led to the deficit that built up in the second half, but the team looked good, especially given their age and relatively limited combined collegiate experience.

The three stand outs of the night would be Sr. Lamont Moore, Jr. Michael Taylor and So Mike Silverthorn.  Lamont provided the team a much needed spark and athleticism, but will need to watch his turn over ratio.  Michael Taylor showed some good scoring potential and overall solid skills.  Silverthorn has expanded his game since last year, showing strong ball control and wider variety of shooting ability.  The combination of those three as well as Jamie Wilson at the point should give the Jackets some solid results this season.  In my opinion, the 5th position is up for grabs but there are several athletic freshman that should fill that role nicely.

A young team for sure, but the chemistry looked good and the team has a lot of passion which is evident on the court.  Here's to a great season for the team and RMC fans!
