Wow! Did North Central scare you with their 52 seconds?
Sherb
Obviously against a team of that caliber, it's never over until the horn goes off, but you felt good about that 2011 defense holding serve for 52 seconds. After North Central scored early in the 3rd to go up 28-7, the next handful of possessions went:
3 plays, -3 yards, punt
3 plays, 6 yards, punt
3 plays, 32 yards, fumble (that forced fumble was huge...first offensive momentum for North Central in a while, they were near FG range at the time, and any points here probably makes it impossible for Wabash to come back)
3 plays, 8 yards, punt
- here's where Wabash scores the go ahead touchdown and 2 pointer
7 plays, 18 yards, INT
Ballgame.

Another question before we start to ponder who will win Friday. Does anybody know where Mount's 25 point comeback ranks in playoff history? I'm not sure where to even start. I know we have a few very knowledgable people who will either know or can find out. Just curious. Something to talk about that shouldn't start any arguments.
As long as I'm here, Go Raiders!
It might be tops. Wittenberg trailed Heidelberg 28-6 in the first half before rallying to win (and really pull away) in 2012. UMHB lost a 21-0 lead to Linfield (that was the last time they lost a game). That was also a first half lead. Wabash trailed 28-7 in the third quarter against North Central and rallied to win 29-28 in 2011. As incredible as that comeback was, I'm not sure it beats winning on the road in the semis after trailing 35-10 in the third quarter. I think Saturday's win is pretty epic even by Mount Union standards.
Wally,
Were you at the Wabash game? I did make a two point conversion?
Must have been a rousing time.

That was Thanksgiving weekend and I had to watch that one remotely. I remember that game being 21-0 at halftime and telling my future wife (who thinks I'm just a weee bit too into this) that Wabash was right in the game. North Central had one legit drive, one big run play that led to a score, and one short field off of a turnover that led to a score. The defense was actually doing well and if the offense could just find anything at all that could work, they'd have a shot. Wabash receivers found holes in the North Central zone in the second half, backup QB Tyler Burke had maybe the best and grittiest, guttiest half of football in Wabash history, and the LGs finished the comeback late.
Also I forgot until I just looked at the boxscore that this game was 28-7 with 12:37 left in the 4th quarter which is when Wabash got possession on the first of their three 4th quarter scoring drives.
The two pointer? Oh yeah. I got that for you right here. 52 seconds left in the game.

I 'heard' that Coach Tomlin had his guys take a Saturday TV short course: MUC:Osh semi. It helped.

Wish I could have bought a clue about the 'key' needed to watch the video. "Watched" via telephone to WRMU (agonizing) and the OAC board. I can't believe I'm the only one that doesn't have a key or where to find one before next Friday. Help?

I'm traveling in Belgium and it is difficult to get a good read on the game while traveling. My prediction is Mount 42 UWO 24.
Could be the jet lag.
Emma
We landed Sunday so jet lag is no longer an issue. We are about half way home on on brewery tours of England and Belgium. We just finished 2 days and 4 good sour beers in Belgium. Now we are doing 4 Trappist breweries.

December 05, 2017, 07:18:21 PMQuote from: Sherburne on December 05, 2017, 06:51:07 PMOh, another thing. MUC:OSH will be on ESPN3. Hopefully, it will not pre-empt streaming video from Mount or Oshkosh. Either may be preferable to 'those' ESPN people.
All,
I can't recall NCAA rules relating to flying teams, (Mount to Oshkosh?)
If yes, how will LK get there?

Well that was some depressing reading.
I just want to make the point that regardless of the record, the teams were extremely competitive with each other.
Congratulations to Coach Kehres on a most incredible career- not just the games won, but all the people he helped achieve success along the way.
emma,

Makes sense to me! Ah, what you said about UMU and UWW getting together again. Why not?
Negative. MTU is 3-6 vs UWW in the Stagg Bowl. Only recent win vs UWW is in 2015 Semis. Haven't beaten UWW in Stagg since 2008. I, for one, am glad UWW has fallen off a bit.
I suspect you may be a year older than me; exhibiting the wisdom of age. Leave a somewhat dozing UWW rest; take UMHB, then one and one with Linfield.

Early weather forecast for Oshkosh has a high of 22, but no chance of snow. Alliance is 32, with a big chance of snow, so Oshkosh might be the better locale between the two.
This could be a high-scoring affair, with TO's the difference.
TOs ?
I think 'WRMUalum13' was questioning the punctuation, the use of the apostrophe.

December 03, 2017, 01:08:03 PMQuote from: Ralph Turner on December 02, 2017, 11:44:27 PMRegarding p. 15, Two Suggested Pregame Warm-Up Areas. My Mount Union Stadium experience, dates to 1967, and includes regular season and play-off games. The suggestion is essentially followed for the WARM UP session. After which, the teams retired to dressing rooms, returning for coin toss and national anthem. The guests stood respectfully in the end zone, in front of the flag of the United States. It seems that 'my' Purple Raiders may have been disrespectful and seized an opportunity to 'get pumped'. A petty ploy!Quote from: desertraider on December 02, 2017, 11:32:06 PMhttp://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/2017DIIIMFB_PreChampsManual_20170922.pdf
Anygame I have ever attended (HS, College) has the teams at designated ends for pregame warmups etc. NOrmally the reserves line up across the field to separate the teams. Mount is the south endzone...for every game I have ever attended.
