That's 757 points on the season, which makes this the highest scoring MUC team of all time.  And there's still one more game.

And unless they give up 57 in the Stagg this will not only be the best scoring team in the MUC dynasty but also the best scoring defense in the run.  I'm thinking they got it under control.

757 and counting, that is sick.

There have been bigger suprises in the history of d3football than if MUC lost this year.  They are the clear favorites, but they arent invincible.

In all of the years of this riegn of dominance, quite possibly the greatest in the history of sports, this is arguably the best team Mount Union has ever fielded.  Nuff said...

I really would have liked to see how the 2006 SJF team matched up against this 2007 MUC team. This years Fisher team was not as good as 2006, and in my opinion (like many others I guess), this years MUC team was much better.

At any rate, they still made a very solid Fisher team look like a JV team --- It's hard to believe anyone will be able to beat this team from here on out, although anything is possible.

Just by looking at them though, they dont look that impressive.  Thats not to say they arent the best d3 team in the history of d3 teams.  But it is still a d3 football team.

I watch a lot of 1-AA football.  I live down the street from Northeastern University's field and Ive seen most of their home games over the past two years.  Northeastern and every team they play would beat MUC by 3-5 touchdowns easy.  They are all 5X the size of MUC, and the defenses are 10X faster.

That being said, I dont think Ithaca, SJF (this year) or TCNJ had the size or team speed to slow them down at all.  These other teams could be different.  Thats all Im sayin.

And a D1AA team should beat a D3 team everytime.  Yes, as far as I knew, this is a board on DIVISION 3 FOOTBALL.COM

Maybe they havent played anyone yet?

I am a huge Buckeyes fan, but the SEC is a much better conference than the Big 10. That being said, I am a realist.  But the top half of the OAC would advance in this tournament if they had a shot.  The one thing Mount Union's success has done is make its conference look bad to the rest of the country.  But I challenge anyone to name a better conference than the OAC.  They run through the best conference in the country year in year out.  Ohio Northern, Capital, John Carrol, Baldwin Wallace are programs that would challenge the best DIII has to offer.  So, to answer your question, yes they have played someone.

ps- ask St. Johns Fisher, TCNJ, and Ithaca (all pretty good programs).  Any team in the Semi's have played someone.

bcspiel,
Very well stated and thanks for an eyewitness perspective. +k
I just have one question.  What's "an alumist?"  I took a couple of years of latin in high school, but I missed that one.  ;)

Runyr, already caught crap for this one, I have the flu, and missed the spell check, lol.  If you guys dont believe I am sick, then why the heck would I be typing this at 345 in the morning!!!  Good posting to all this week and GO RAIDERS, from a proud ALUMNUS

Met to say, "parent of the player" my bad.

Final word. I was at the game, and witnessed most of the negativity coming from a beaten, upset NJ crowd and team.

Anyway, heading to bed, the flu has beat me like a Raider's opponent.  Good talking to you guys.  See some of you Saturday.  GO RAIDERS!!!

Seventies,

What player was verbally attacked by the fans in section 13 before those fans where flipped off by #11.  Not saying an eye for an eye is right.  But I am sure that parent of fan that threatened Mount fans did not see one of their own flip off the crowd.

Ric,

I never once mentioned the Tom Arth situation, and if my response to the poster was speaking on the Tom Arth situation, I missed that, from what I read, it was in response to my post.  I was at that JCU game when Arth was hurt, and too was disgusted with the response from some fans, including those who are not being mentioned on here.

These guys would do very well surrounded by Mount fans.  It would all be fun and games then.  But sitting where they do they refuse to accept the way they are taken by the opposition, and at least in my case, from other Mount Union fans.

Ric, this is on the school, and I have often thought this, why punish the home fans for cheering just because the school determines putting the opposing fans next to the season ticket holders (who will traditionally be the most vocal fans)?

Hearing fans of the opposing school in the middle of the stadium too nullifies the home field advantage. You do not see this practice in other stadiums.

Sportsmanship is subjective, and no one here on this board or anywhere else can define it.  To me, what those guys are doing isn't so bad.  Too you, it will cause sleepless nights.  Agree to disagree

GO RAIDERS.
