RE The RPI-Ithaca matchup, I think the grass will be a bigger factor than most people are expecting.

We've gotten rain almost every day this week, and the field will be absolutely soaked. The last time Ithaca played a home game with a field this bad was 2016 against Morrisville. Just stepping on the sidelines, my boots would sink 6" into the ground. The Bombers won 31-0 with then-backup Adam Fron playing most of the game.

Rumor is RPI is coming in early on Friday to do a walk-through on the grass, we'll have to wait and see if that helps.

Is Gladney even playing ? haven't heard his name called.

Gladney did not dress. He's on the sidelines in a white polo.

A look into the bomber preseason camp.....

I hope everyone enjoyed the video! I'm a student worker at Ithaca, and I produced and directed it.

I just wanted to say that the scale of the video and the access given to me was really a testament to coach Dan Swanstrom. After last year's video, his main thought was "can we do this bigger & better?"

How are things shaping up along the lines?

Ithaca seems to have an embarrassment of riches along the D-line this year. They have way more than 4 starter-quality players (Gill, Hadac, Valle and Barbieri on the edge with Pacholec, Repicky, Hill, and McNeeley inside) and will probably be rotating a lot. Players on both sides of the ball consistenly referred to it as the most underrated position group on the team.

Once IC stops shooting themselves in the foot in the red zone , this offense will really be top notch. It is also clear that they worked with the Oline and the running game with Brown during the BYE week....teams can always choose to double Gladney, but if the other pieces are working IC will have something really special by the end of the year.

It is an indisputable fact that the Bomber's offense has issues in the red zone, and I think most of that came when the offense was still one-dimensional; Nabi to Gladney, and occasionally Vito or Zazarra, rinse & repeat. Now that they have some semblance of a running game (as seen in the second half of this game), and Nabi is spreading the ball around more (Jack Yule, Trevor Bauer, and Nick Cervone all had some of their first receptions this game), they will have a wider menu in the red zone.

Here are the highlights from yesterday, and one of the most exciting games I have ever been to:

Thanks everyone for the very kind words!

@Bartman, I agree that next Saturday is shaping up to be an exciting match-up!

I'm assuming most people haven't been to the Butt since this season's opener, but the addition of a stone wall has it looking tremendous!

Dlip also enjoyed seeing local Shaker product getting the nod at QB for the Bombers. Seems like the kid played well yesterday. Dlip wishes him and the Bombers the best on the season! Congrats on the new coaching staff's first victory!

Yesterday's win for Ithaca really was a testament to what new HC Dan Swanstrom's two strengths were thought to be coming in to the season: recruiting and offensive scheming.

You had a freshman in Wahid Nabi getting the nod at QB, and throwing a TD pass to a freshman playing WR (Andrew Vito, look for big things from him in the future). And the first TD pass of the game came on the 4th play from scrimmage, on a beautifully designed drag that left the entire left side of the field wide open.

If anyone is interested in seeing the kid in action, here is a highlight package I shot from Saturday's game:

Congrats to Ithaca's Jordan Schemm (Ret Specialist) on being named to the Pre-season All American second team! Wishing Jordan a great 2017 campaign!

Schemm really is tremendous, and a class act. For anyone interested, here is a highlight reel of his 2016 season that he had me make for him.
