Y'all wanna explore Don Beebe as a potential UWW HC? Sure.

also the fact he beat uww should be very telling should he express interest as opposed to keeping his heart in aurora. No matter what, coaching at UWW will result in a salary boost for him.

I'd be curious if it'd actually be a salary boost. Additional resources - absolutely but maybe not his salary. There was a rumor he might have been a candidate at Wheaton when Swider retired and AU got him to stay.

If this is correct - Bullis was only making around 90k.https://govsalaries.com/bullis-kevin-107447340
That's actually not very good for a head coaching job.

Jake Landry would be a good candidate although he may have burned too much of a bridge in his short time at WW.

Current OC at St Thomas. Precious QB coach at Temple and NIU. Had a very successful 2 years as OC at UWL before that.

Probably a big stretch, but I'm Not hating the Beebe idea I read a few pages back. Not sure if he'll be interested, or if even if Bullis is for sure leaving.

Haha, thinking the same thing at the same time!

They won't go internal. The program hasn't had enough success with this regime and the coordinators are young.

In all serious, Don Beebe is the absolute perfect fit. Played for the Packers and loves WI. What he has done at AU is astounding. He's recruited top notch talent that competes with the top of D3 each year.

What he would be able to recruit to WW would be impressive to say the least and the offense he'd bring would be perfect for WW.

A Warhawk program led by Beebe would something special....

NCC developed the blueprint for Elmhurst. Hire a local successful HC coach.

Thorne was perfect as he had just retired. You're not going to get a HC to take the job unless they are retired. They'd be giving up their pension.

Well when you suffer through a difficult campaign like Elmhurst has this year,  it's bound to happen that changes will occur.
Elmhurst is in a tough spot.  It's tough on them geographically which they have no control over.  But with the rise in North Central these last 15-20 years,  recruiting top candidates has been (even more) challenging.

Journell, Lester, and (even) Adam had Elmhurst starting to show signs of climbing into (minimally) the middle of the pack.  However recent years has seen Elmhurst sink back to the basement of the conference.  I am not sure what the answer is at this point.   I do hope the new hire will help to get Elmhurst back on their feet because it's a program floundering right now.

Why is Elmhurst a tough geographical spot?

Congrats, Foresters, on an outstanding season.  Looking forward to Saturday.  I'll admit that I'm pretty ignorant as to LF and what type of football they play.  What are the keys to their success?  Any potential weaknesses?

As for NCC--they're primarily a rushing team.  They have 2 Sr. RB's who look and run like bruisers, but are also quick and can break a long one if they make it into the second level.  This has happened pretty frequently due to the dominance of the offensive line.  The soph QB is actually the fastest player on the team and can also hurt you with his feet.  You'll see several designed runs for him, as well.  They don't throw the ball a ton, but when they do, they're very efficient.  The WR core has been decimated by injury, but still healthy is the #1 receiver, DeAngelo Hardy, who is quite the specimen--speed, intelligence, range.  It hasn't happened yet this season, but if LF can shut down the Cardinals ground game, they'll have a shot.

Defensively, they're even more impressive than the offense, somehow.  They are extremely stingy with the football and will force turnovers.  They haven't given up a touchdown since the 4th game of the season vs. Wheaton.  This streak includes 4 straight shutouts--a school record.  When teams have had success moving the football against the Cardinals, it has been off tackle runs and quick passes into the flats.

Interested to hear your thoughts and congrats again!

Not a whole lot of action on the MWC board this year. I'm sure LF is well aware of NCC and their style of play. LF will play tough. I'd compare LF talent level to Augie. NCC should win by 50+.

Looks like some programs need to shake up some things in the coming days.

Very curious if some CCIW programs will clean house and start looking for new coaches.

Looks like Elmhurst staff has been let go.

Me as well. Lots of teams in the CCIW are heading in the wrong direction. Would like to see the conference be more competitive.

First tie breaker is quarters led and Monmouth & LF are equal (24) heading into the last week. Anyone know the next tie breaker? Head to head?

Another embarrassing loss in the Bell era of Augie football, as they lose to a 2-6 Carthage team, at home, on Senior day.  Carthage was averaging 19.5 points and 321 yards of offense per game coming into the contest, but they marched up and down the field against a porous Augie D to the tune of 512 yards and 37 points.  Augie's defense completely laid down in the 2nd half, giving up 325 yards and 29 points.  I am thoroughly convinced that Augie will never become relevant again in the CCIW under the current coaching staff.  This is the 8th season under Bell's watch and, assuming they will not beat NCC next week (pretty safe bet), Bell's record at Augie will be 29-44, 22-37 in the CCIW with no better than a 5th place finish in the conference, with one winning season at 6-4 in 2019.  It's really sad to see what this program has become.

What is the ceiling of the Augie program?

Holy smokes in the conference awful this year.

Who is having a worst start to the year - Elmhurst or Carthage?

Do either programs not make a coaching change in the offeseason?
