Fuhlfords poor performance had nothing to do with his ankle. His decision making and awareness is just poor

Well said! As bad as everyone likes to say the 2016 was they still could have won the Natl Championship. Defense was probably the best in D3 in 2016, but lack of experience at the quarterback position finally caught up with us against a very good MHB defense. So maybe the better response is all D3 was down in 2016?
This years offense is very inconsistent, and will need to rely on the defense to win the Natl Championship and that will happen as this defense is that good

Intention.

Ron, you are aware Mount played their second team the ENTIRE second half until Center was able to get their last first and goal when the score was 51-28. Kehres had seen enough of the lack of effort from the secondary and sat them down. Mount had not played a game all year where the second team started the second half and also played the entire half. Not sure if they scored 51 points in a half against anyone this year. A lot of firsts today. This could have been a 90/100 point day for Mount.

Not sure I agree with prior post that IWU beats CWRU if circumstances with weather was different. I actually think everyone wants to believe N Central and IWU are better than they are and in reality Case just had a good team this year and would have beat NC as well. If the weather was better it may been a bigger differential in the score. W&J is not
Of the same caliber team as Case this year so no way should they be ranked higher than Case. . I saw both Frostburg and Case play Mount and Case was much better foe than Frostburg. Not a CWRU dad, player or alum. Just saw a bunch of football this year and believe the conference was over rated and Case proved this point. I think you just lost focus and started selecting with your heart more than your head. And I totally get that which is why I had Mount #1

To boobyhashameyo...
I do not intend to be disrespectful with my response, but
Please believe me when I say "you have no clue" what Bport is ]__in for this weekend. Bport has never seen speed like they will see this weekend. Germination will need an entire half to adjust to the speed as the first few series will be three and out. The game is entirely different when you bring in a UMU, Oshkosh, UMHB, and UST. The level of play is an entire step up.
If Bport scores 10 points they should all receive trophy's. I have seen quotes from Wesleydad trying to place Wesley on par with Bport. The same Wesley team that needed OT to beat Frostburg who had literally no chance against Mount this past weekend. Mount could have put 100 points on the board if they chose to. Other than the first offensive series in the fourth Mount played their second and third team players.
Congrats to Bport for being the best in the East and I mean that. Not that anyone cares, but I do. You will fully understand what I mean come Saturday afternoon.

It was the Capital game last year and they never looked back. Poorman was healthy a week or two later but he could not get the job back. He actually was not happy about it either

Sherman is out the next two- three weeks- MCL, Austin White has shoulder issue (watch this one as his may be a bit more serious), and Ruth is still nursing his hip pointer

I echo the thoughts of the last two comments. Let us not forget early last year it was like a revolving door each series, quarter as to who was going to be QB. No one was stepping up and Fuhlford did not stand out at all. If DeAngelo goes down now Mount has short playoff run as Poorman is not the answer and Davis has not played at the game speed required for a playoff run IMO

I find it interesting W&J is ranked 4th in the RR, one spot ahead of CWRU in the Natl Ranking, but we all dismiss what is happening on the field. Over the next two weeks CWRU will play Westminster &CMU. Clearly their two toughest games all season. However, if CWRU wins both games decisively and goes 10-0 does this change how the committee evaluates their final rankings? It could be said at the end of the day CWRU a better team than W&J. W&J is assumed to be better because they beat Thomas More early in the season which provided them a slightly better SOS. They are playing the same teams and Case is actually putting up more impressive numbers, but we all, including me (I don't have a horse in this race), assume W&J deserves a better ranking than CWRU.
Wally...what would happen if CWRU wins out and the PAC is decided by coin flip based on the criteria the PAC has (there are multiple criteria they have, and assuming Case wins out it will come to this last point). Case gets automatic bid for being PAC champ. Does the committee then look at W&J with the same view they look at Case today?
Again, no tie to either program, but found this conference interesting when looking at comments based on what folks are saying about the pool C bids

I know the stats for Fuhlford look great on paper however, have any of you been watching replays of the game or film at all? He continually throws into double coverage with receivers wide open underneath. Perfect example was this past weekend when he forced a long ball to Hill (3rd time this year). The play ended up being PI but there was a receiver wide open down the seam underneath. Any other team this was an interception. Against Heidelberg someone made the comment "did you see that throw to Hill in the corner of the end zone?" Did you I ask? Both defenders literally stood there and watched Hill catch the ball. All they had to do was stretch out their arms and either one would have knocked it down. They move their feet it's an interception. The kid has incredible talent to throw the ball and run. Please do not make the mistake he can read a defense. He is throwing where he is told to and when he needs to find another option he finds an open receiver as they are these receivers are always open. You can say you worry about the RBs, the line, the secondary...this QB worries me once we play a team with a real secondary.
