I don't think Redlands would win a rematch with CMS

I'm not so sure that I wasn't a bit premature is forming such an opinion.

Terry,

When another team does a good job I am one of the few that say they kicked out butt, sorry CMS did some good things but UR almost lost the game between the ears that day. I gave LF huge props. CMS props for their size and national base. CMS issue is team speed. If it was an even bet, I doubt the money would flow more to CMS. I am far from saying UR is much better.

I wholeheartedly agree on team speed. The difference was evident in the Chapman game last week. No question Redlands is overall a faster team. I would also agree on the money flow, unfortunately I have never found the D3 window in Vegas.

Amnesia ....Check...

Yes CMS and UR game would be close...for sure...no doubt ....but the facts were ...in the close game..

CMS started their back up, but a very capable back up (herald out of La Habra, possible 1AA kid in HS, went to CMS for academics) ....and they are a run first and pass second team, dont throw too many deep passes ever.

UR might have played their second to worse game 'LF being worse. 9 penalties...I recall three drive killer or extended CMS ...9 penalties is half a season for UR.

UR has always been a very capable run stopper, Edward was 24 carries for 84 yards...The QB ran for 82...UR held CMS under 200 yard on the day ...

Being a very capable backup still doesn't make up for lack of playing time/experience, even though he has started... two years ago. Missed most of camp in isolation. Has a MUCH better command of the offense and flow of the game then he did in his first start... in over two years. Much stronger focus on run blocking with the O-line now than at the time of the first meeting. Amnesia, maybe.

Funny how it always seems to be Redlands didn't perform and there is never credit given to the opposing team (CMS or anyone else). Blinders, probably.

CMS will be pulling for CLU against Redlands.
They also have to win a couple themselves.

History is definitely not guaranteed to repeat itself, but CMS has already beat their final two opponents once this season. At least they know they can play with them.

Redlands should thank their lucky stars they got CMS when they did.

I got CMS over Cal Lu tomorrow. I've read how everyone here thought Redlands should have beat CMS by more had they played better. I would take the opposite position and say that if CMS' starting QB had not been injured  at the end of the Chapman game, or if their backups would have had more playing time experience, then CMS would have won outright and possibly by double digits. They only needed one first down to have won by 3 points.

Watched the second half of the Redlands/CMS game and the #1 thing that stood out to me was the whining and yelling by the CMS fans. They would be better off with no sound at all.

When the officiating is inconsistent from the start, missing holding calls on both teams, missing spots, etc..., it's hard to complain about any fan base wanting their team to win. You could have hit "mute".

CMS 15-0 @ half

D.O.C. are you at game?

Forgot to add the CMS "bend-but-don't-break" defense in the 1st half got broke.

Whitworth 31
CMS 15
Final

Best team won.
Officiating was worse than a high school game.
Whitworth did a great kid of applying defensive pressure.
CMS had WAY too many turnovers, but still made Whitworth bring their starters back into the game in the 4th quarter.
A rematch could be interesting.
