From the FootballScoop website:

UW-Stout (D-III): Per source, Wisconsin-Whitewater (D-III) wide receivers coach Nick Pesik has accepted the offensive coordinator job.

There was a time in the past when all of the WIAC was NAIA.  I don't remember exactly when it was (maybe sometime in the mid to late 70's) when the league transitioned to the NCAA DIII.

All of the WIAC schools were out of NAIA by 1993.

5-8" of snow potentially coming this weekend -- at least that's the forecast for River Falls.

No DIII experience -- Univ SoDak was DII when he played, but transitioned to DI while he coached there for 10 years, myriad of DI experience.

Agreed -- interesting hire -- we shall see if he can continue with the improvements from the Larson era

UW-EC position should be closed now -- it's been posted for 4 weeks.  I've heard two names as front-runners... Matt Ebner (current DC, Interim HC) and Dan McCarty (HC @ St. Norbert's College -- previously an Asst at EC under Nielson)

UWEC with some facility upgrades -- perhaps down the road, football games on campus and not at Carson Park.

If only they had a coach.  Been pretty quiet about the next HC for the Blugolds.

UWEC's Dan Larson has resigned in order to take a position on the North Dakota State staff. DC Matt Ebner is listed as interim head coach on their website.

Will be an interesting hire -- the AD is heavily involved in the program.

Two worst I experienced were @UWEC homecoming in 2003 when the drunk students were hanging over the fence behind our bench. And @Wartburg in the playoffs in 2003, students in the dorm behind the visiting side were bad, but no one was worse than the stuff Willis and a few Wart coaches were saying to us on the field  :o ::)

Duff is right though, every fan base has them.

Thankfully I've never witnessed witnessed at a d3 game what I saw at arrowhead a few years back, when a woman got punched in the face by Raiders Black Hole fans. That took the cake. And confirmed I'd never take my kids to an NFL game until they were much older!

There are some storied places to play in D3 football, but playing at Carson Park in Eau Claire for homecoming is amazing. It started with the students shaking the bus and throwing beer at us as we exited to go into the stadium. I imagined this is how those D1 players at bowl week feel when they get to go to Disneyland before their bowl game!

HoCo at EC has changed dramatically.  They no longer allow U-Haul trailers in the parking lot -- students would pack up couches / chairs / kegs and set up shop in the parking lot. It's much tamer these days and patrolled.  Prolly doesn't help the product on the field hasn't been very good of late -- but some signs of improvement this season.

With UWRF QB getting ejected last week in the second half for 2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties -- does he need to sit first half of next game?

It appears that two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties with a 2nd half DQ are treated differently than a targeting with DQ in 2nd half.  Beckman sat the first series and played remainder of the game.

Looking at UWRF coaching staff -- Interim HC Paul Richie no longer listed -- only coach listed is Derek Staley (previously on staff as Asst / Recruiting Coordinator)

No roster caps in the WIAC any longer.
Largest roster at start of camp was 148, smallest at 111.
Largest roster at week 1 was 122, smallest at 99.
