Yeah, I mean I don't think that is a crazy bad hire? He ran great offenses at Denison.

Yes, because

1) what exactly was the penalty on the last play?
2) why did the ref roll the clock after the spike on first down at the one three plays earlier?
3) and then there's the blown call on Whitehead's TD in the third quarter where he was ruled OOB.

1 - Good explanation here: https://x.com/FrankRossi/status/1865544168367337950
2 - The ball was never ready for play prior to the snap. The ref spotted it after the spike and ran the clock. It should have never stopped on the first spike because it was being wound.
3 - I was flipping through games all day so didn't see this one.

HAVE to get it right. It cannot turn into a situation like DC was the last few years.

I think the game is going to go 1 or 2 ways.

Depauw blowout (most likely)
Wabash keeps it close on the back of a few big plays and their defense (unlikely)

I hope for a win but I'm expecting something like 49-7...and while not okay, that's okay.

Quote from: Whitecarrera on November 02, 2024, 09:29:31 PMI'd argue that the reason the Wabash—Denison game was close is due more to the Wabash defense than the Wabash offense.

Just to clarify, this is not pointing any fingers. I just felt like both offenses were able to get some big plays, and each exploited some things in the other's defense.

I though Campbell did a very nice job in the passing game. I just don't think the Wabash rush offense is dynamic enough to be able to handle the Depauw defense.

FINAL

Hell of a game.  LG's still alive in the conference hunt.

Offense is just not up to snuff this year I'm afraid. Good win though today! Win and move on.

He really progressed throughout the year last year. He showed some flashes early on but by the end of the year was pretty consistent. Got over the fouling a bit and learned to defend the basket.

I still think that the offense of Wabash isn't explosive enough to hang.

I would have loved to have had this Wabash defense last year on that team. That would have been a Top 25 team - no doubt.

Quote from: WAF-WDE on October 13, 2024, 06:35:46 PMThe score of the Wabash-Oberlin does not tell the entire story.  Oberlin had 13 drives and 40 plays on offense.  They recorded 1 first down and 17 yards of total offense. Wabash forced 5 turnovers and 7 punts.  Thirty-three (33) Oberlin players saw action, whereas 73 Little Giants played today.
Don't forget Wabash kneeling the ball at the 15 yard line to send it to the half rather than scoring to put more points on the scoreboard.

It was very obvious that if Wabash wanted to do so, they could have put up 120+ on Oberlin. But as always, Morel is never going to run the score up much past 40-50 points.

The RB room has really improved throughout the year.
