When the warhawks are down, these boards go quite. Well here goes nothing with the last breakdown of the year. I have been reading these boards for 10+ years and enjoy posting every now and again.

UWP vs UWS- GAME OF THE WEEK- for obvious reasons. I can not wait to stream this game. UWS QB has been unreal this year. From losing to Carroll early in the year to where they are now this team has been the surprise of the year. UWP has been great as well. Really impressed with how hard they play. Stout at home with a chance to go to the playoffs for the first time since 2001? I think it is a magical day in Menominee Saturday and they pull one more rabbit out of the hat. UWP is in the playoffs so the pressure is all on Stout. Give me the Blue Devils 31-30

UWL vs UWSP- UWL is my team of the year and has been all year. Point is counting down the minutes for this season to be over. Point will suffer there 31st WIAC L this weekend I am afraid. Do not see this being a game at all. UWL 56-7

UWW vs UWEC- This is the test for the Warhawks. Playing for nothing in the last week of the season. When is the last time this has happened. I hope they finish it strong but this might turn into a game. UWEC has been playing hard all year and see this as a chance to knock of UWW. UWW to much talent wins this 31-21

UWRF vs UWO- Winner keeps playoff hopes alive enough to watch the selection show. This is going to be a great football game. UWRF has struggled on offense the past couple weeks. Game is at UWRF which has turned into a great homefield advantage. UWO has an outstanding QB and a few good WR. It is hard to win road games in this league but I think UWO finds a way to pull this one out. 28-17

What a wild and crazy WIAC season. This is still the best league in the country. WIAC should get 5 or 6 teams in every year but we know that will never happen. Cant wait to keep posting and watching through the playoffs!

Weekly Recap-

UWW vs UWL- Hit the right score of 24-21 in the predictions. Knew this would be a knockdown drag out fight. I am telling ya, I would not want to play UWL in the playoffs. I still think that UWL has a chance to make a run to the final 4 if they can sneak into the playoffs. They are one of the best teams in the country. I know many of you on this board do not think the WIAC has a great team, I just disagree. I think it is UWL. Where does UWW go from here? This is the worst season in recent memory. This off season will be a lot of soul searching and making sure it does not happen again. I believe staff changes will be made.

UWRF vs UWSP- Had projected this game 45-14 and ended 45-17 close to getting this one on the head as well. UWRF looked to struggle early getting shut out in the first Q but then the offense got rolling. I wish this UWRF had the qb this year. Feels like a completely different team from scoring 70s early in the year to where they are now. I do not see a path for UWRF to make the playoffs. High hopes for this season and have a chance to finish from 4-6th in league play. I hope the QB comes back for one more seaosn. Same question about for Point. Where do the pointers go from here? The pointers have lost 30 straight WIAC games. It is in a great location to get talent but no improvements to facilities.

UWS vs UWO- Called this upset in my preview just missed on the score. I really like this Stout team. The QB is playing great. Moen 352 and three touchdowns. On the other hand the UWO QB throws 367 and 4. We knew this game would come down to the wire. It would be a great story if UWS can find a way to get into the playoffs for the first time in years. If you would have asked me 10 weeks ago if UWP vs UWS in the last week of the regular season would have any meaning, I would have said that game is for who finishes 5th or 6th. Awesome turn around. UWO needs to rebound to find a way to knock of UWRF. If they can do that, it will keep playoffs hopes alive for now.

UWP vs UWEC- UWEC is a team I can not figure out. I think they are getting better? But depends on the week. UWP is a machine right now. 49 points at half time. They could have named the score in this game but wanted to keep guys healthy for the conference title game this weekend.

Cant believe it is the last week of the season already. So much left to be decided. I am sure hoping this league can get 2 or 3 into the new playoff system.

Weekly Thoughts:

Point vs UWRF- Point is done. Will their HC Luke be back next year or what is the plan at UWSP. Used to be such a great job. UWRF has had some injury issue but I see the offense getting back on a roll here. Give me the Falcons 45-14

UWW vs UWL- GAME OF THE WEEK. I still think the winner of this game will find its way into the playoffs. I want to see UWW O vs UWL Defense. I worry that the warhawks will be able to move the football. UWL is hot right now. This will come right down to the fourth q. Give me UWL 24 UWW 21 to make it one of the worst years in recent memory for the Warhawks

UW-Stout vs UWO- This is a really sneaky good football game. UWO is in the driver seat to win the conference title but can not have a slip up with Stout and UWRF on deck. This feels like a trap game with the Falcons on the road next. Give me Stout in the upset 38-35

UWEC vs UWP- UWEC has not quit and keep playing hard. The future is bright there if everything can stay in tack. I just do not see anyone knocking off UWP right now. D is playing great. Give me UWP to win this one 38-7

What a mess looking at the league standings.

UWP has the upper hand in winning the league with UWEC and UWS left. UWO has UWS and UWRF left which is a much tougher task.

I believe that UWP and UWO will for sure get in the playoffs. I just can not see a world that the playoffs expand to 40 teams and the WIAC only getting 2 teams in. I still believe that the winner of the UWL vs UWW game will find there way in the playoff picture in 2 weeks.

Not sure what the L does for UWRF playoff chances yesterday. I know going in they had over a 50% chance of getting in. Has anyone seen any update playoff chances? I cant wait to watch the UWW vs UWL game this weekend!

Does anyone in here think that UWW would even consider making a move at HC? I could see making a move at OC at the end of the year but I think we need to give Jace his chance. In my mind tomorrow is a huge one for him and UWW. When is the last time UWRF beat UWW? Do not want that streak to end tomorrow if you are Jace and staff. On the flip side huge opportunity  for UWRF and Coach Walker

Not a great weekend slate of games. Here is how I see them going.

UWO vs UWEC- UWO is much improved. I thought when they lost their QB last year they would be a struggle to get anything going. I think coach Peter should be coach of the year in the league. Very impressed by what they have done. UWEC is still 2 to 3 years away from having a chance. I see this one 42-10

UWP vs UWSP- Trap game for UWP. They have just went through the grind of the WIAC play. I could see them sleep walk through the first half of this game. UWP wins it 38-14

UWRF vs UWW- Game of the week. Really interested to see if UWW packs it in the year or if they want to keep fighting for coach Jace. UWRF has been impressive without their QB that is for sure. I think UWW keeps their playoff hopes alive 24-17

UWL vs UWS- I am not sure what to make of this game. Stout has been a surprising team all year to this point. When does the magic run out or are the devils really this good? I think this is where rubber meets the road and the eagles win in a get right game 42-24

Another wild day in the WIAC. I just am struggling to see how the WIAC gets three teams into the playoffs. UWL saved their season with a win over UWRF yesterday and now has some life. UWP puts themself in the driver seat to win the league. Is Whitewater vs UWRF a playoff game this weekend? Winner still has a chance and loser out?

Does Coach Walker have to sit out a game with two unsportsmanlike flags? Big games like that I get emotions are high. I hope he does not need to sit out the home game against Stout. Any word if Blaha will be back? That kid is a stud and fun to watch.

UWL vs UWP- Man is UWP a big disappointment this year. This is a team that I thought would at least make a run with the big dogs with 50 junior and seniors on their roster. UWL has arrived to the party this year. Behind UWW they might have to be the biggest story in D3 football. They are a legit contender. UWL overpowers UWP here by 24.

UWRF vs UWEC- This could be a sneaky good game. UWEC impressed me last week against Stout who I have been high on since week one. The switching of the QB play for UWEC has given them life. UWRF must be pretty damn good on offense they put up yards every week. This is a chance for the Falcons to finish 500 for the first time in what feels like 20 years. I think the Falcons edge this one out by 13

UWW vs UWO- Man I can not wait for this game. I am still very high on UWO even after a defeat to UWL. UWO will get up for this game, I just do not think it will matter. This will be a game for the first half and the warhawks run away with it late. Again for everyone on this board, I AM NOT A UWW SUPPORTER like some others on this board. I just think this is one of the best Whitewater teams I have ever seen. I have been following the league since 1996. I am willing to start having the conversation that this might be the BEST UWW TEAM OF ALL TIME. Maybe I am a poisoner of the moment but man I have been impressed. If they blow UWO I am open to having the conversation next week and I can bring numbers to back my case. Warhawks by 28

UW-Stout vs Point- Rematch from 3 weeks ago. Nothing changes other than Stout might win by more. Stout by 38.

Week 2 of WIAC play lets dig in!

UWP at UWW- I might be more excited for this game than most. I have not sold out on UWP yet. Early in the year the rumor was that they were missing a bunch of starters due to covid. Since everyone has been back they are 2-0 and played UWO tough. I think this will be a game for 3 Q and UWW wins by 14 in a close game. I am thinking about making the trip down to the Perk this weekend to catch it.

UWO vs UWL- GAME OF THE WEEK. Might be one of the games of the year. I have had this one circled for a while. UWO has been very impressive on both sides of the football to start the year. UWL might have the best year up to this point - UWW. I would make UWL a small favor in this game but this is a coin flip game. Give me UWL by 3.

UWEC vs UW-Stout- Rivalry game! You never know what will happen on the war of 94 game. I think Stout rebounds here and gets after UWEC by 21.

UW Stevens Point vs UWRF- I am just not very interested in this game. I was starting to believe in the Falcons, and they did not show up for homecoing against UWL. Point is in for a long year. Both programs need to win this game. I think Point steals one here by 7.

Week 1 WIAC Preview

UWEC vs Point- Right off the bat the game that I just talked about. I think UWEC gets this one by 3 in a close one. This is a coin flip of a game

UWRF vs UWL- UWRF at home in one of the biggest games in Coach Matt Walker career. UWRF has a great offense, but I just do not think they have seen a legit defense yet. UWL takes this one by 17

UWO vs UWP- I think UWP makes this an interesting game for a half. The ground game will wear on UWP over the second half and the Titans come up with the win by 11 in what I think is the game of the week in the WIAC.

UW- Stout vs UWW- I think the world of Whitewater this year, I also have a soft spot in my heart for this Stout team. My heart says Stout close but deep down I know that UWW is going to win this game by 21 or so. I am hoping Stout can keep it close and get out healthy so they can push the rest of the league.

My overview after watching a few different games this weekend.

UWW is very good. Everyone on here knows how high I have been on Stout all year. They have WEAPONS on offense and should have been shut out. Stout on rushes for 50 yards on 22 carries. Meylor was efficient again on 14-17 throwing with 3 touchdowns. Ryan Wisniewski is still really good at football with two touchdowns.

UWRF vs UWL- UWL is really good and I am not sure UWRF is all that good. UWL was going in to score late in the half to make it 35-7 and ended up turning it over on the 6 yard line. UWRF must play with temp to snap the ball 93 times compared to UWL 60 in one game. Not down on the Falcons yet but expected a better output offensively yesterday.

UWEC vs Point- Point is in trouble. They are just short play makers. UWEC with only 210 yards of offense is concerning. Did Max Herro get hurt in the game for Point? I think he is a sneaky good QB but see he didnt finish the game.

UWO vs UWP- Don't count UWP out yet. They had chances to win this football game. Both teams get over 400 yards of offense. Did UWO bench Kobe Berghammer?? He threw three touchdowns against Northern Michigan and did not play yesterday? I am a big fan of MacCudden but UWO better get their QB back. UWP throws for 344 and three touchdowns more importantly does not throw a pick. Great WIAC game

Yes they are brothers. I believe Borgerding came in as a QB to UWRF but decided he would be better on defense? He was a good player in high school. Got to watch him in the playoffs.

I enjoyed bye week getting mind right for conference play. Here is an update how I see the league going this year.

1- UWW. 3-0 with playing a tough non con schedule is very impressive. I still stand by I believe that UWW is on their way to a national title.

2- UWO. Second place is very close for me to project. UWO win against Northern Michigan was very impressive. Their QB play has been very sound. They are an older team and I just have a hard time seeing anyone but UWW beating them

3- UWL- UWL has made a statement in non con. The game against a very good Grand Valley might have been the best outing for the WIAC this entire pre season. They took care of a Dakota State team that is 3-1 also and made it look easy. It would not surprise me to see them finish 2.

4- UW-Stout- This was my sleeper pre season and I stand by it today. They have talent all over the field. They also handled a Point team in a "non conference" game. I could see them pulling an upset later in the year and would not surprise me at all

5- UWP- I might be to high on this team still with the non conference schedule. I have heard they had some covid cases but with 50 junior and seniors on their roster, I am sure Coach E will have them ready to play

6- UWRF- Impressive non conference 3-0 start. Their non conference schedule started 1-9 so I do not think they are ready for the WIAC right now. I am hoping the Falcons can sneak over .500 this year. That would be a major stepping stone.

7- UWEC- I was impressed with UWEC first few wins but had a hiccup while I was on bye week. I think Point vs UWEC will be for the bottom of the league. UWEC is a team to watch over the next three years though.

8- Point. The only reason I have dropped point so far is they have one game against a WIAC school and did not show well at all. With as close as the leauge is going to be this year a 31 point defeat does not sit well with me.

The top 5 in this league are loaded this year. I still stand by this is the best WIAC I have ever seen in my 41 year life. Cant wait for this week.
