A little excerpt from the SJU game notes... theres a big difference in speed between these two teams.

40-YARD DASH TIMES
Sophomore wide receiver Blake Patrick (St. Stephen, Minn./Holdingford) recorded the team's fastest laser-timed, 40-yard dash time, 4.63 seconds, when the team conducted testing Aug. 11. He ran a time of 4.75 seconds, which was fourth-best on the team, as
a freshman last season. Patrick made his presence, and speed, known with a 48-yard reception Sept. 1. Senior defensive back Sam Marshall (Marshall, Minn.), a former run- ning back, followed in second at 4.7 seconds. Junior wide receiver Andrew VanErp was third at 4.74 seconds.

Yesterday was a case of SJU needing to be just a little better than the competition. The game was never in doubt.

Passing attack was efficicient, second half running game picked up and the two step passing attack kept Johnnie D on their toes.

Max Jackson punt return for TD was a walk through the park.

Johnnies in Belton will be a real football game however I expect SJU to prevail. Doubtful MHB has seen a QB, WRs, DT and DBs like The Johnnies. If MHB had you wouldn't see the terribly lopsided scores up and down the their schedule.

I was impressed with the tailgate crew and the home crowd. One of the best playoff crowds in my memory. Enthusiastic and vocal - somewhat out of the ordinary for Collegeville.

It's a special season for Johnnie Football.

Are you forgetting that this was a team that held Mount last year to one touchdown in the Stagg Bowl. ASC has two high powered offenses in ETBU (#6 in total offense,) and HSU (#5 in total offense).  Southwestern (#35 in total offense) can put up some numbers too. But I think this stat says a lot, UMHB defense has only allowed opponents 9 Red Zone Attempts all year. Out of 12 games only 9. What's even scarier, the vast majority of those 9, were against the backups after the game was well out of reach. I think the lopsided scores are more of a testament to the Defense of UMHB not the lack of quality competition.

I see the score looking similar to the HSU game.

No team has walked into Crusader Stadium and had their way with UMHB. And most teams that play UMHB for the first time are usually in for a rude awakening.

Well, except for last season's MIAC champs. Who did just fine and were tied entering the fourth.

This is true. Another reason I'm looking forward to the SJU match up. I will say this year's UMHB team has a far better offense in my opinion. And their defense is showing improvements from last year.

Why are we even playing the game then?

Barf.

I can appreciate your username, but spare me your bogus predictions.  All the respect in the world--UMHB is good, but they're no UMU/MUC.

UMHB is 2-2  all-time against Mount Union.

I'm actually excited to see how SJU measures up to UMHB. But I just would be surprised if its closer than a 3 score game.

What?  You created this account just to troll over here and spare your real account from the negative karma?  Ha!  That makes me laugh hard.  A good dose of Texas courage you have.  Not.

Is this how the Cru roll?  Scared?  Nice.  I'm looking forward to this game twice over now.

simply offering my opinion man

Mount Union has 13 National Championships. UMHB HAS 1. 😕

True. Gonna take us a while to catch up, but we are working on it.
