As Class of '99, you're old enough to know the difference between what's appropriate and what isn't. Nobody has agreed with you that your post was in good taste. So if you think I have my panties in a bunch, well, you better start looking around at your fellow Wabash fans, because they appear to feel the same way I do. I'm just the one that had the key to the board.

This isn't every November, sir.

Cool, then.  Everyone's in agreement that I made a tasteless joke, and am a monster.   And I'm sorry if anyone was seriously upset by a bad joke on an internet message board.  For my part, I'm gone, I'll never visit your site or post on the forums again.

So at least open the thread again so everyone else can discuss the game.

Good luck this weekend, Wabash.

Yeah, I guess Pat got his panties in a bunch because I made an off-color joke and whipped out the lock.  Look Pat, if you are upset with a joke that I made, then feel free to ban me.  Don't lock the thread for everyone else.  They didn't do anything, and someone has to listen to Breck's insipid ramblings.

The Monon thread has traditionally been about slinging meaningless insults back and forth to blow off some steam.  They call us gay, and we call them homophobes.  So now, I suppose because of headlines, the pretty tame joke I made was amplified and a whole lot of people got upset, and seem to have made a big deal out a stupid joke.

So I'll gladly take one for the team and voluntarily get banned from your site.  Even if you don't ban me, I'm not ever going to post here again, so you might as well exercise that power you seem to prize.  Honestly, I have precious little desire to post here anymore.  I was looking for the usual stupid back and forth that we perpetrate every November, but apparently that's not acceptable anymore.  I'll go away to where empty jokes aren't taken so seriously.

"It's the Bell Game. Throw out the records and throw out tendencies." Howard W. Hewitt

We'll throw out our record, if you promise to throw out your tendencies.  Mostly the ones toward young boys.

It was inappropriate when a DPU fan made the same snide comment about Wabash fans and it is just as inappropriate for you to make it about DPU fans.  Sexual abuse of children is not a laughing matter.

Fair enough.  But I wasn't making it about DPU fans.  Just Breck.

You don't know me dagodouche.

As a father, I find your comments highly inappropriate and reprehensible. We all know that the boards get heated, and things are said that are not agreeable to all. Often these don't need to be responded to, or even some of the comments at all. I was willing to let your initial comment slide until I got your followup.

The fact of the matter is that a mere apology would suffice. But it is apparent you are not capable of apologizing.

And as an Italian feminine hygiene product, I find your comments highly inappropriate.

But for what it's worth, I apologize for hurting your very sensitive feelings.  At no time in the lobbing of said insult did I actually remotely believe that you were a pederast.  Who knew that a play on words would upset so many on here.

You are an illiterate homophobe, however.  I stand by that.

Fair enough.  But 1) it wasn't a pedophilia joke.  It was a pedophile joke, and 2) I wasn't making it about DPU fans.  Just Breck.

Breck

There is a difference between well thought out expressions of support with a little humor, truth, and expectation/desire added ... and trash talk.  There is also a difference between Trash ... and trash talk.  I suggest that you sir need to reflect upon this.  I suspect I would like most, if not all, of the other "4 Bell" winners group.  We may have different expectation/desires for the outcome this year and each year but not expressed with vitriol, vindictiveness, and spite directed personally.

nuf said.

Seriously, it's like he was trained how to post messages on YouTube.

I'll admit that I enjoyed the game yesterday, but that's because I had to sit through the `98 game.  Even so, I don't want `em all to go that way.  As nice as it is to hang that on DPU, the games that are closer are just simply more exciting, even if we don't always win them.

And as much faith as I have in Wabash, if you'd asked me how that game was going to go before hand, I'd have come up with about every scenario than that one.  If we ever needed more proof that you can throw everything else in a season out when trying to predict Bell games, let me direct you to Exhibit A.

I'd say good game, DPU, but that would smack of disingenuity.  I will say the best part about this rivalry is that you get another shot at us next year, and I'm sure this one will still be smarting when they take the field in `11.  It didn't apparently help us a lot in `99, but maybe that fire will make for a hell of a game next year.

Hell of a show, Bash.  One helluva show.

Have attended from Detroit, Grand Rapids, Boston, Chicago, and Indianapolis.  My first Bell game was 1982 (I was 14  ;D) and I haven't missed since - playing in 4 ('86-'89).  This makes my 29th straight...

What are your thoughts on the matchup this year?  Keys to the game?  Interesting scenario this year with DPU already in the playoffs...  I expect a very tight game this year.  I haven't confirmed this but heard the stadium is set for 14,000 this year.

Wabash Always Fights!
BB16

Unless someone weighs in with 35 straight from Singapore, I think you may have won the trophy!  Most of your distances are not that impressive, but playing in 4, and never missing a game from 4 years before college to 21 years after graduation is awesome! :D

Seriously.  Makes my 16 straight look pretty sad.

Your filmer says the Wabash Bell defense plan is called Operation Scarlet Fist.

You guys make it too easy to make fun of you sometimes.  Those jokes just write themselves.

Nice.  I guess it's better than a defensive plan called Operation Crossed Legs.  What are the DPU plans called?  Please tell me your offensive strategy involves a big passing game and is called Old Gold Shower.

The only reason every Dabash boy would not make the game is because, they cant afford the $16 dollar ticket because a technical college degree from DaBash was only good enough for a job at Carl Jr's.

Fair enough...we can't all work for our daddy's law firms or live off of trust funds.

Way to keep it classy gobash.

Depauw website is posting only 550 Monon tickets left.

Yeah, sorry for taking the wind out of your sails by beating you to the first gay joke.  Seemed like the easiest way to defuse your explosive sense of humor.  Now I guess you'll have to switch to your comedy gold back-up of "DaBash".

I've instructed him to change the brake lights from red to gold.

Which I suspect will result in one of a handful of rear-endings you'll receive that weekend.
