The Eagles are one player position away from winning ODAC Championships again. Which one I won't mention, you guys figure it out.  :o

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Homecoming!

Last year I attended the game with Hampden Sydney at Jopson Field.
We were down 30-6 going into the 4th and Vince Reese sparked us at QB with 4 TD's in a 37-34 loss.
He went 2 of 3 yesterday passing for 21 yards and had 2 carries for 5 yards but we waited too long to insert him into the game to see if he could bring us back again.
Hagan is still doing a better job than last year because he is no longer the most sacked QB in the nation but if it were me I would have Vince and Hagan compete in practice for the starting QB job vs Guilford. Stay tuned.

The DNR article had a quote from a HSC player that said "We were calling plays before they ran them," the junior said with a grin."  I think our offensive play calling has gotten too vanilla. If the other team could study films and pick out what we were going to run before we ran it there is a problem upstairs too. Maybe we are one coach away from an ODAC Championship.

Clark's Record with Bob Colbert as OC was 69-26;  Clark's Record without Bob Colbert as OC is 26-35.  Coincidence?

BC is 22-13 since Bob Colbert went to St. Vincent.

And I think they were 7-22 in Clark's 3 years before Colbert got there in '98.  So it's actually 29-35 without Colbert altogether and 22-13 since he left.

I've heard you sing so I know you didn't teach him that.

If he was trying to hit an 88 mph fastball while severely hungover, I could believe you taught him that;  or, if he was trying to beer bong 6 beers prior to scoring 3 goals in an intramural soccer game, I could believe you taught him that;  But singing... no way!

85 yards passing and 4 INT?  Give Coach Clark a bye week to prepare the defense and all of the sudden Superman becomes Clark Kent.

But just like Coach Clark said, at this point, one great game just buys you the chance to stay in the hunt for one more week.  Great job this week, but E&H (and RMC) will be even tougher.

GO EAGLES

Not only are you usually the higher seed at home, you also get the benefit of a clock that doesn't always work properly (Rowan @ BC - 2001) as well as multiple phantom pass interference calls in OT until the home team finally scores (BC @ W&J - 2004).

Anyone who knows anything knows the ODAC (as a conference) has been weak for the past several years.  During BC's run to national prominence, their out-of-conference schedule was much more difficult than the ODAC games (until people decided they didn't want to play BC anymore).

How BC lost 2 conference games last year is still a Ripley's Believe It or Not.  But at least W & L got the opportunity to prove that they were just as weak as we all knew they were.

To all the Thiel supporters... great team and great hospitality.   Everywhere I went, from the Sheetz next to campus, to the tailagate at the stadium, to the concession stand, Thiel fans were always classy.  The players were classy as well as reminded me alot of our 2000 team when we first started making the run that we're on now.  Good luck next year...  I just hope we host so that we can show you our hospitality... without the sub-freezing temperatures and snow.

On a couple of the bad turnovers that Highfill made deep in our own territory, he looked like a young QB still learning to make the right decisions.  But on a bunch of plays he looked like Jason Lutz vintage 2001 (evading the rush & making plays when receivers were covered, punishing LBs that tried to tackle him, and hitting receivers on the numbers on deep passes).  I like our chances with either QB.  But in the cold (and snow?) that we'll be seeing this weekend, Highfill might give us the best shot.

BC wins by 6.  Our D has steadily gotten better and will hold the Presidents under 30 (which will be enough to win).

BC's D must get better.  Yes, the 2nd/3rd string was in a lot and the offense put them in bad positions with turnovers... but, no one (coaches or players) seemed real upset that they gave up 40+ points.  They seemed to be satisfied that we were up by a couple touchdowns regardless of how the D-fense was playing.  If we don't score 60+ points, we lose.

Otherwise, great game and now we get to wake up another team from their dream of a possible ODAC title.  Looking forward to the   W & L game more than we ever have.  Good for us, bad for W & L.

Just like the last 3 years, there's one game that matters... Sydney.  Win it and you go to the playoffs.  Lose it and you don't.  Nobody else in the ODAC will beat B'water or HSC; and with losing to McDaniel, we don't go anywhere if we don't win the conference.

So it's great to talk all this every week, but in the end there's only one game that matters.

I'm late because unfortunately I've got other things to do besides post here.  However, to all the SU fans that think we ran it up...  Get better, and it won't be a problem.

To all those who got enjoyment out of B'water folding in the 2nd half against McDaniel... In the words of John Madden, we ain't worried about the horse, we're just loadin' the wagon.
