I think cost is a major issue.  The difference in tuition between a place like NCC and Whitewater is around $25K a year (that's based on out-of-state tuition at UWW - for Wisconsin residents the difference is closer to $35K per year).  I imagine that is a deciding factor for a lot of kids.

Clearly.  I wonder how much money it takes to move a D3 betting line.  I don't gamble but if I did I would take anything over NCC +3.

Bookmakers have officially posted lines & betting odds for this Friday's Stagg Bowl!

North Central +1.0 (-110) vs UMHB -1.0 (-110) Total is set at 59.5 Points favored slightly to the under.

This is going to be a heck of a game folks, literally a pick 'em!

*odds courtesy of Betonline.ag

UMHB now -2.5.  O/U dropped to 48.5.  Must be due to the uniform choices.

AFCA All-Americans are out and it is a head-scratching list. Once again proves that coaches are bad at voting for awards (the soccer coaches this year did a laughably poor job this year as well). No Greenfield is just dumb.
I look forward to a much more legitimate list from D3football.

What a joke!  Ethan Greenfield is the best RB in the country!

1000% agree.  I'm speechless.

Why would you be speechless? These guys have been doing this the same way for a couple decades. They only pick 1 player from any team usually. The fact that NCC got 2 (Clarke and Kamienski) is borderline miraculous.  4 players total from the National championship rosters, 1 player from UWW and zero from Mt Union. Lake Forest has 2 players and UWW 1? We shouldn't even be discussing this.

I don't have the historical knowledge on the voting for this "team" that you do... so I greatly appreciate your insight (I mean that sincerely).  Given you statement... "speechless" would seem to be the right response.

Massey has NCC as a 55/45 favorite, with a predicted final score of North Central 31, Mary Hardin-Baylor 28.

Very similar to Logan Hansen, who has 55.9/44.1 in favor of NCC

Bill Connelly (ESPN SP+) has it at 38.4 / 36.1 in favor of NCC.  It should be a great game!

Yet he still has Wis-Whitewater ranked ahead of UMHB even after the semi final result, that's tough to agree with!

Haha!  I didn't even look at the rankings since its sort of irrelevant at this juncture.  That definitely deserves a "C'Mon, Man"!

I saw saw nothing on the HOF ticketing site about areas reserved for fans of the participating teams.  Can anyone from NC tell me if they sent special ticketing instructions to the respective schools?  Just curious.

A group of us purchased Club Level tickets this weekend.  We assumed we would just figure it out when we got there....
Are the club level tickets sold out?  I'm not seeing the option when I look to buy.

Must be.  Looking at the seating chart the club level seats look like they are up high and probably not the best option.  I have to imagine everyone is going to push down closer to field level.

Any word on the 3 NCC Olinemen who missed for COVID? Hoping they're at full strength for the Stagg Saturday. Judging by what I watched against UWW, they'll need every healthy body they can manage against UMHB!

We must have had the count wrong bc on the pod today Thorne said it was 2 linemen (RT and RG) out as well as Defensive Captain/LB Ben Wong. Didn't divulge whether they'd be back or not.

Fortier was wearing #65 instead of #67 which may have lead to some confusion.

I checked the weather for Alliance on Saturday after watching that crazy game in Buffalo.

The current game time forecast is light rain with 15-20 mph winds (gusting to 30 mph).   It will be interesting to see how much impact that has on the passing games for both teams.

Temperatures are projected to be in the low 60's!

Congratulations to Coach McMartin for being named Region 5 COY by the AFCA!

In almost all aspects of society lately one of the watchwords we seem to currently be hearing on a very consistent basis is "transparency." Not feeling the need to explain an unfathomable decision gives evidence to the fact the NCAA has no interest in being transparent. It wouldn't be surprising to learn they've never even heard of the concept.
The NCAA leadership needs some new blood.

Isn't the 7 page tweet transparency? Feel like we all know why Mount is hosting now. What else would you like to hear from them?

A tournament without black and white seeding is stupid. How does that even exist? If I'm the NCAA, I would want seeded rankings for the sheer fact of not having this embarrassing situation they are in in which they look like incompetent clowns.

I love the stuff that Frank and all other D3 guru's do but I want to hear from the NCAA. I want them to live up to the criteria that we all apparently had wrong and explain all the things we think we know like previous year tie breakers and once ranked always ranked.
Agreed. The NCAA's lack of transparency really makes me appreciate Frank, Pat & Co. even more because without them, we'd be in the dark forever.

This must be frustrating for them, though.  They have repeatedly and patiently explained the playoff "rules" to the masses only to have the NCAA throw them a curveball in the semi's.  I don't think we will ever get a formal explanation from the NCAA as this issue will be forgotten by most people in two weeks (or less).  The old news cycle two step.

The NCC football team will be fine (I think).  Based upon social media they are taking this in stride.  I really feel for the parents, friends and alumni.  It will be tough for people to potentially make 2 trips to Ohio in less than a week.  It is also unfortunate for the college... this was a great opportunity to showcase the campus and City of Naperville to a national audience.

It won't soothe anyone's hurt feelings but it does provide some rational.  Clearly the NCAA thinks that Mount is the better team based upon their metrics.  We will see on Saturday.
