Is it 500 miles or 600 miles for the air travel restriction?  If 500, for CNU, Wartburg, Trinity, Tufts sectional games, Trinity gets nod to host?

I hope committee puts Scranton & CNU on opposite sides of bracket this year.  Still remember CNU traveling up to Scranton for 2019 sweet 16 and losing up to them by missing 2 free throws as time expired.

The season is almost here. Top 25 is out. Good to  see the Lady Captains at #6. I also like the roster this year!

Grind out win against Santa Cruz helped CNU gain #1 ranking again this year.  I did not expect another possible undefeated regular season with the multiple senior losses from last year's team.  Looking forward to C2C tourney and possible rematch with Santa Cruz in final.

NCAA rigidity in mileage also plays here.  Tufts is 619 miles from CNU while CNU to Amherst is 560 miles?  so if computer had said 590 miles for Tufts, they would have been screwed.  In other words, 19 miles decided CNU losing home court and traveling 10+ hours on bus

NCAA "rules" should be modified to give flexibility for sectional hosting over current 600 miles limit.  When you have 16 sites, I can see mileage limit helping to save money.  But when it is 4 sites, give some flight money up to give higher regional seed hosting rights.
In this instance, it came down to one additional team having to fly and bureaucracy rules won.  they were quick to change to 600 miles to save money but unwilling to allow CNU to pay for flights and request buses from Bradley Airport to defray those costs?  that is asinine bureaucracy.  NCAA saves money with not paying flights for CNU but unwilling to allow buses from Bradley Airport because CNU willing to pay for themselves???

CNU --> Amherst is 565 miles.  All to save flight $$ for Tufts.  If the rule had been 2020 rule of 500 miles, it would be played at CNU.  So being #1 in nation gets no home court and almost 9 hour bus ride.  Committee forget this when constructing upper left?

of late, CNU has varied its full court press to be less zone and more man press.  this is just to reduce time on shot clock and make starters work (and fatigue them).  this has also reduced number of open 3pt looks by opponents.
The matchup problems against CNU is not only its starting 5 but how many minutes its next 5 play.
Finally, scoring tends to be who ever has the hot hand.  although Fan is really good, before C2C championship game, she was really off for last 3 games before that (avg only 4 ppg in those 3 games).  the slack was picked up by another starter and bench.
To beat them, you MUST limit them to less than 70.  the four "close" games had CNU around 70. Gettysburg (70-67), @Mary Wash (68-61), @Salibury (63-57), UCSC (74-70).
The problem with CNU is their best win is against the team we were debating as the 20th team in Pool C. Tufts beat UCSC 75-47, so offensively equivalent to CNU but 23 points better on defense. CNU has very talented and athletic players but they have not played a top 16 team yet and now they will need to win 4 in a row against that level of competition. Not saying they can't we won't get to see until the second weekend.
best win is Gettysburg was best win, then Salisbury 2X (according to NCAA selection committee), then UCSC.

anyone going today and Saturday to Johns Hopkins for games?  Make sure to bring N95 masks

for sweet 16, playing at home give CNU big edge.
CNU last home loss, 12/1/2018 by Messiah.  The only home loss these seniors have ever known.
They love the home rims and shooting lines.  just a very different team at home compared to away/neutral.

I do wonder if moving to 10 regions affected selecting a Pool C team that would have not been selected previously when D3 had less regions.  this is on the assumption that women's committee has "sympathy" for a team on the table for a while.  thoughts?

saw very old d3 "unofficial seeding" of teams in NCAA tournament bracket for 2004 (men's).  why did this stop?  I would find this very helpful to gauge "relative" strength of team.

Remember Scranton played up at Bowdoin (The Polar Bear was awesome)also a beautiful campus!I guess sometimes they can't get around it!I have been to alot of Colleges and University's following the Lady Royals and Royals! I really liked that campus and Amherst and many more

That was the 2nd weekend(sectional); you expect traveling for the 2nd weekend because of fewer options; I was referring to the 1st weekend(regional).
If you want a LONG 1st weekend travel, George Fox to Arlington VA was definitely an outlier and intentional by NCAA.  and then fly back again to Amherst before they cancelled 2020
